Here Is Something

Washington, D.C., September 25, 2019—The Vapor Technology Association (VTA), the industry’s national trade association, Benevolent e-Liquids, Inc., a New York manufacturer, and Perfection Vapes, Inc., a New York retailer, filed a lawsuit seeking declaratory judgment, a temporary restraining order, and a preliminary and permanent injunction in the Supreme Court of the State of New York for Albany County against the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC) to nullify the ban in New York State of flavored vapor products and to prevent it from being enforced

Finally, Some Lawsuits

Got an email from VTA. They just filed suit in NY State regarding the flavor ban. I haven't read the complaint but I'm glad to see them stepping up and getting our side of things on the legal record.

New York To Ban Flavored E-cigarettes Immediately

New York Moves to Ban Flavored E-Cigarettes by Emergency Order

Under the plan outlined by Mr. Cuomo on Sunday, the state’s Public Health and Health Planning Council, a little-known regulatory body, would be convened by the health commissioner, Dr. Howard Zucker. The council would then issue an emergency regulation to ban the sale of flavored e-cigarettes, rules that would take effect immediately.

New York State Ban?

Can someone explain what the New York State ban means for people living in New York State.
I believe it starts May 18. Will you still be able to buy vg. pg. nic and hardware online and shipped to New York address? Any facts are appreciated.

Thanks

State Bans Already In Place

I know that there are threads covering bans in individual states, but I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread which covers all state bans.

So far, I know of the temporary, but complete ban, in Massachusetts, and a flavor ban announced in Michigan, Washington state, and Rhode Island. The New York ban is not in effect yet, but will be on October 4, I believe. Not sure about the other three states.

If there are more states which I'm not aware of, please list them.

Bloomberg's $160 Million Anti Vaping Donation & His Pharma Vaporizer

I have not seen this on the Forum before - did I miss it ?

From Vapun Magazine 9/24/2019
Pharma Vaporizer Brings Big BILLIONAIRE Names

some quotes from the article...
Hava Health is about to launch Hale – what Tech Crunch referred to as “the first vaporizer designed for smoking cessation"

Hale claims to be different because it will be the first device that uses “4 Pharmaceutical grade ingredients” for “two different oil formulations.”

Hava Health has some big-named backers that include: Village Global, Backstage Capital, Hardware Massive and other angel investors on their website.

One name that stands out listed as part of The Network on Village Global website is none other than Mike Bloomberg. The same Bloomberg who donated $160 million to anti-vaping efforts in New York, as reported by New York Times.

Another is Bill Gates. Both Bloomberg and Gates have donated heavily to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) and the CDC Foundation. CTFK has been notoriously anti-vape–they were one of the parties that successfully sued the FDA, claiming officials did not have the authority to extend regulatory deadlines for the vapor industry. The CDC Foundation has been previously investigated for allegedly allowing private donations to influence CDC policies, as reported by Roll Call and The Times of India.

So...yea, there is a definite personal interest for Bloomberg to kill vaping - he is INVESTED in a pharma device !!

Will Flavours Be Banned In New York In July 2020?

I read e.g. this article:
To Fight Vaping, New York City Bans Nearly All Flavored E-Cigarettes
Now I am a little confused.
I am visiting NYC in July 2020 and now I don't know if I can bring my flavoured e-liquid for personal use (perhaps 50ml with 2mg nic). Will vaping flavours in the streets of NYC be banned in July 2020? Is there already a final decision on this topic? I just want to make sure in advance. I'd take a tabacco flavour or unflavored liquid instead of mango when there will be a flavour ban.
Is here someone who knows more about the flavor ban in NY, perhaps also in Washingtin D.C. and Boston, where plan to travel for a daytrip?

Vaping Use Prompts Trump Administration To Weigh Flavored E-cigarettes Ban

Trump Administration Weighs Ban on Flavored E-Cigarettes

Sitting in the Oval Office with Alex M. Azar II, the secretary of Health and Human Services, and Dr. Ned Sharpless, the acting Food and Drug Administration commissioner, President Trump acknowledged that there was a vaping problem, and said, “We’re going to have to do something about it.”

Mr. Azar said that the F.D.A. would outline a plan within the coming weeks for removing most flavored e-cigarettes that are not tobacco products from the market.

Pressure also began to mount as Michael R. Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York, decided to step in by announcing a $160 million push to ban flavored e-cigarettes. Long an opponent of traditional smoking, the former mayor said his organization, Bloomberg Philanthropies, would seek prohibitions of flavored e-cigarettes in at least 20 cities and states.
