So I'm walking across the parking lot yesterday, vaping with my trusty ProVari Ti3. The looks I was getting were unbelievable. You'd think I was dragging a puppy by its hind legs. The anti-vape media blitz has successfully achieved its intended purpose. One woman was watching the vapor plums, as though I were releasing cyanide into the atmosphere. A visible visceral reaction. It was quite funny, actually. I wouldn't be surprised if "they" elevate the daily rhetoric; by declaring vaping a public health hazard. I suppose we'll soon need to switch to something safe, like... oh, I don't know... cigarettes?
Someone needs to produce a detailed documentary about the documented research about how safe vaping is. Hopefully that will give the general public as well as potential new vapers some education about what is safe and what isn't.
The contaminated products that are circulating on the black market are what's killing people.
Something of this magnitude needs to be put out in the media otherwise I'm afraid that this industry will die out and a lot of shops will go out of business. It's time to take action, the media has demonized vaping. It's come to a point where most folks can't vape in public in peace.
What are your thoughts on how to combat this issue? It's terrible what has happened to everyone that has been sickened or died as a result of vaping bad products. The CDC and FDA can't seem to get a handle on what's really the culprit and the media isn't giving us any details.
I feel perfectly fine as I've been vaping for almost 10 years now and I feel great in fact never better since I quit smoking cigarettes. Now I'm a bit paranoid and wonder if I should just give up vaping. This whole this is getting to me and I can't even vape around my family in peace now.
So I'm outside of Walmart vaping (away from the entrance... basically where the employees smoke... cig butts everywhere) This woman walks by, stops and says "aren't you afraid that will hurt you" and I go into the "it's safe, it actually has nothing to do with this" and then she says "because I was really interested in vaping" (I thought she was going to tell me to go in the parking lot or something... she actually wanted to quit smoking) So I explained the whole deal about THC carts and "contamination", the bed rep from news media, ect. and she as very interested. I told her to search the internet and find the truth (how they are finally telling the truth) She was so relived and thankful. I may have just helped someone get off cigs, someone that was very interested in vaping and got scared. Happy ending (I needed that) I wonder how many other people want to quit smoking and just got scared because of the media BS. Kinda made my day
just feeling harrased for vaping in public. I have no choice but to vape in public since im basicly staying at a hospital right now in cali with .y husband. He has some health issues and we were flown down here. Anyways Im a very polite vaper or I try to be. I go where no one else is and o done blow it at people. Im not trying to force anything on anyone but people give me dirty looks and say "theres no smoking" say that in ur most annoying voice btw lol. Its funny sometimes people cough cus they dont see its vapor. So its kinda funny people are subconsciously choking on smoke thats not there. Best smelling smoke ive ever smelled! Anyway let me know if any of you have experienced this. Thanks for letting me vent a little.
In response to the California Department of Public Health's new $7 million anti-ecigarette propaganda campaign "#stillblowingsmoke", which launches today, a new website notblowingsmoke.org has been published.
Please visit the site and share widely on social media and with friends and family, and let's see this go even more viral than the #curbit fightback!
Anti Vaping Propaganda is a serious Health Hazard !
Scaring smokers from switching to a less harmful alternative.
Preaching to the choir but...
Yea, that.
I'm fed up with the BS headlines of lies...this one is much better.
The information has been gathered and we now present to you the facts about the news media blitz about the Lung Disease Outbreaks and Death "linked" to vaping. Stay informed, stay educated, and share that information!
Starting this thread with main intention for people to post where it is you enjoy vaping the most. Post that as a response and I, as OP, will be satisfied. If a particular situation matches that place, then feel free to note that.
As I enjoy vaping in multiple places and vaping everywhere, with respect, here would be my top places:
1 - vaping in my car while driving - at times I think this is the best place to vape, especially when I am driving alone. Feel a lot of freedom when vaping here.
2 - vaping at home while doing one of three things: a) watching sports on TV, b) playing a video game or c) how can I not mention vaping while visiting ECF
3 - vaping in public - in a hospital (makes the hospital experience a little better, and is one of the easiest places to vape indoors, with respect to others). Or vaping in any public place where I know I have full permission to do so. A bar would likely be prime example here, but I do not frequent bars, so not sure really and is why this is last on the list.
And you?
Got approached by security guard today at work who directed me to the smoking area. Company just moved to a new office complex. I've always went out walking to vape in non-traffic areas. At this new place, security guard must of been alerted or something, must of followed me waiting for me to take a vape. Another fellow vapor in the smoking area said he was scolded too.
This is getting out of hand, not sure I can do the smoking area, smell of cigarettes just gets to me now. Thinking about trying the side walk, thinking side walk should be public right a way, should be safe there or not.
Seems like we need some offensive. Defense is getting us no where, regulations getting enacted without question. The standard is vaping allowed only in designated smoking areas.
I mean is this stuff bad for you or not!! And, if not, if they have no proof that second hand vapor is harmful to the general public, then what right do they have to make me inhale second hand cigarette smoke.
Heck, they should be thanking me for not polluting the corner of the parking garage they call the smoking area with butts and smoke.
End of rant.
Okay - I found it very interesting that with all the recent hoopla, hysterics and diatribe & condemnation of E-Cigarettes and "Vaping" (inclusive) on all major Media oulets - that one of the local 3 PBS Stations here in South Florida - WLRN (out of Miami) has actually been showing a very good older educational/documentary program from BBC that I saw a couple of years ago :
"E-Cigarettes: Miracle Or Menace" (2016):
Can't embed video here - So here is the link to video: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5875ke
(BTW: It is also shown on Netflix: Netflix)
AND - Then online there was a repeat of CBS Sunday Mornings Report last year:
"Clearing the air on e-cigarettes" (Oct 2018)
Besides Canada's Networks: CBC News - 5th Estate:
"Investigating e-cigarettes: a less harmful way to smoke?" (2016)
Also, there is an excellent documentary (mixed languages - sub-titles) :
"Beyond The Cloud - Documentary film about vaping" (2016)
AND - IMHO - While these maybe older videos, i do believe they are still relevant. SO - I hope this info will be enlightening and open the conversation to the general public and "You", your Family & Friends that keep asking you if is Ok / or that "You" NEED to Stop, and can be especially helpful about what "Vaping" is and is not when and if Ya' are ever confronted by others. That is if they are willing to watch and learn . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Heard yesterday that Indiana has passed a law banning smoking in public parks. That includes vaping under the heading of "all other forms of smoking".
Indiana has some history when it comes to vaping regulation. They passed a very restrictive law concerning juice a few years ago, with bipartisan support. That got nixed for legal reasons but it suggests this latest one is likely to be the first salvo in a new crusade.
