Vaping And Breathalyzers

Hey all. I know this general topic has been discussed before, but I'm really hoping someone can help me find some scientific studies or research on the possibility of a falsely elevated BAC reading on a breathalyzer test after heavy vaping (doesn't really matter if the studies were performed in the United States, U.K. or any other country).

Many of us know with absolute certainty that vaping certain juices can falsely elevate BAC readings. We've purchased our own breathalyzers and tested this at home. Or perhaps we have interlock devices on our vehicles, or we have been ordered by a court of law to submit to regular or random breathalyzer tests using court-issued portable or in-home breathalyzers, etc. And many of us have found that we cannot start our vehicles or have failed the random or scheduled breathalyzer tests after vaping. Those of us who have had one or more of these experiences KNOW that this is a very real (and potentially VERY serious) issue.

What we know holds very little (or zero) weight in a court of law, unless there is some scientific evidence to back up the claim. Due to a legal matter, I am searching desperately for any and all sources of scientific research on this subject.

Your assistance would be incredibly and forever appreciated. Thank you in advance!

All Credible Vaping Research

Herro ECF!

I am writing a 20 page research paper for a class at my school. I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out with finding credible sources/studies with references either for or against (if there is anything credible against it) Vaping. Health studies, behavioral studies, whatever you have. I think I've heard things about Dr. F? Obviously, my argument will be for Vaping but I need both sides as a requirement for the paper. I'm not asking you to do research for me, but if you have good studies bookmarked for quick access please share! Thanks for any help you all might provide and I will be sure to post the final paper when it's done.

If It's Illegal To Use The Legal Name So We Can...

If it's illegal to use a legal name, then why are we fighting stuff like vaping in court?

What I just wrote is a legal fact...but don't take my word for it just check it out for yourself...

Home - Lose The Name

If what I just wrote is a fact just as the following: 1+1=2; Then using a legal name is illegal, so your vaping issues are over lol

What do I do? Just go to the website and read...
What if a cop asked me for ID because I am vaping? IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE A LEGAL NAME, therefore if you have no name you are not in their system, therefore vape on lol...

Yeah I know it's awsome right?

Happy vaping!!!

Usa Today: Scientists Want Probe Of Ucsf Tobacco Research (glantz)

Scientists want probe of UCSF tobacco research
One of the country's best-known tobacco researchers is under fire this week after one of his federally funded vaping studies was retracted and other academics are calling for federal review of some of his other influential anti-vaping research.

additional Glantz studies deserving of the most scrutiny include two major publications in 2018: A meta analysis of other vaping studies published in the British journal Lancet Respiratory Medicine and one in the journal Pediatrics about teen vaping and smoking.

The Lancet analysis of several studies was based on a "misleading negative correlation between e-cigarettes and smoking cessation"and used studies that had nothing to do with quitting smoking, Abrams said. This violated the basic tenets of medical research review, he added.

"It has had a massive misleading influence in the field to this day because it is cited as the main reference" to show vaping makes it harder to quit smoking, Abrams said.

The other study concluded the "use of e-cigarettes does not discourage, and may encourage, conventional cigarette use among US adolescents." Rodu, who analyzed the claim, found only 11 of 9,000 teens studied vaped before they started smoking and 80% of the kids who smoked hadn't used tobacco product previously.

Using that data, Abrams said the "effect of vaping is not just diminished, it disappears."

Where Are All These Links To Reports On Negative Side Effects That The Low-information Public Is Talking About Tonight?

I'm looking at all the news reports just running and jumping with joy about the study that came out about teen vaping use today. I believe this was a catalyst that is going to get the general, non-informed "I'll do whatever you say and where do I check the voting ballot again??" public, right behind strict regulations and/or banning. My, how powerful manipulation is with what was once the minority, but what I'm afraid is now the majority in this country.

What is getting me is that almost ALL the commenters are stating that these are bad, very very bad and just look at "all the reports that are coming out about negative side effects." Where are they seeing reports about scientific study results regarding negative side effects and a link to cancer? Or is this just another case of "those people" that want to tell us all how to live imagining all these studies (one even quoted they cause cancer according to recent studies) in their little pea-sized non-independent thinking brains? I am just amazed at how the mind works with some people. How they can just "want something to be" and so, in their little minds, they have fabricated all these studies showing negative side effects and direct causes to cancer. Really?

I'm sorry if I sound ticked off. I'm just so sick and tired of watching a vast majority of Americans lose their ability to think for themselves and that are so content to be LAZY and just believe whatever it is they hear from the media. You know, you just can't fight stupid.

Vaping And Running Vs Smoking And Running

So I started running again. I can say from experience that vaping has to be better for your lungs than smoking ! I was up to running 5 or more miles a day and up to 10 miles while smoking a pack a day. (I'm a former Marine so I tend to do things to the extreme.) When I was smoking in the beginning of a run I would feel a tightness in my chest and I used to attribute to having to get into an aerobic heartbeat. Breathing would be hard for a while. But I would always push myself to do the run. I would finish a run and stop and hack a bit then light a ciggarette. (..... I am lol) I always wondered how it would feel to run if I wasn't smoking. So I haven't run in quite some time (Old Man Winter) and I have been quit smoking for a while. So I started out with a short 2 mile run today. Guess what ? No tightness in the chest, no hard breathing and no hacking ! Can't wait to get back up into the big mile range again ! So if vaping actually had an effect on your lungs would I have not felt it ? In contrary vaping has greatly improved my lungs. So I don't need any scientific studies I just completed my own study ! Hey if anyone else has noticed the same thing let me know I'm interested in your opinion.

The Whole Formaldehyde Thing

I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, and he had asked that I try to quit vaping and switch to nicotine gum because ecigs create formaldehyde in the lungs, which is terrible for you. I know many of you have dealt with this BS, so here's a short, easy-to-read article by a doctor explaining exactly why these studies are ridiculous and misleading. There is much more in-depth stuff out there, but for something by a medical professional that is still very scientific but still easy enough to approach that people will actually read it, I think it's pretty darn good.

What Do You 'crave' The Most About Vaping?

Most people justify vaping to smoking because it's healthier, and to some, cheaper, but what is it that you enjoy most out of vaping? The nic fix, the shiny mech mods, the high powered box mods, the clouds?

Personally, I love the flavor of vaping the most, along with my house and vehicles not smelling like an ashtray. I'm sure a lot of other people can attest to this too, but having a big collection of gear is pretty cool, too. I figured there would come a time when I'd cut back on spending, but it seems like with the selection of vape stuff out there today, just makes me want more. It's like it never ends.

Whats your favourite part of vaping?

Major Anti-vaping Scientific Study Retracted

"
Vaping is supposed to be a form of harm reduction, that is, allow nicotine addicts to have access to the drug without the harmful tars and chemicals in cigarettes that cause cancer, heart disease, and other maladies.

Last year, the Journal of the American Heart Association published a study finding that vaping posed as great a heart risk as smoking itself. That study fueled public policies at all levels of government to stifle the industry. A lot of small business people had their livelihoods destroyed or damaged as a result.

Now, the study has been retracted — which is a very big deal in science — because the editors are “concerned that the study conclusion is unreliable” due to what appears to have been an uncompleted peer review process..........."

Score one for our side. 'They will not stop until tobacco becomes regulated like a hard drug - 'We will not stop until our rights, especially our right to use a less harmful form of tobacco, such as vaping,
is assured.

Please Explain To Me: Those Who Died, What Were They Vaping?

Hi,
I apologize in advance if this is a question that has been discussed a lot, but the problem is that what I’ve read doesn’t seem to make sense: We know from experience that vaping PG/VG based juices are safe to vape, so I don’t wanna talk about that. However, when I read (in articles as well as here in the forum) that they have been vaping THC , I have to say that this kind of stuff has been consumed in vaporized form for quite a while now, probably since before people started vaping PG/VG. So it doesn’t make sense to me that all of sudden, vaping THC is killing people.
Do we have an explanation for these cases that actually makes sense?

Which Popular E-cigarette Manufacturers Submit Application To Fda?

Vaping companies are required by the FDA to provide a Premarket Tobacco Product Application (PMTA), which will include scientific data to show a product is appropriate for public consumption. Manufacturers have until Sept. 9 to submit their application, failing which their products will be pulled from the market. Once an application is submitted, companies can keep selling their products for a year from the date of deadline, without official approval, or until a negative action is taken by the FDA.

It seems juul has applied, any other brands?
