I began my journey in 2014 after a severe DAI
When my neurologist was pleased to see my vape back then and encouraged the switch then boom, all systems go
In the time I’ve spent recovering, ECF and all of its members have contributed and I appreciate it.
While I was doing my daily cognitive exercises, going to rehab and various doctor appointments ECF was there
The information I picked up to keep safe or pass the time, welcome people or chat with familiar members while having a good read through all that has been invaluable to me
some guy here even fixed my computer!
Thanks a lot ECF members. Good people
edit; I instantly need a mod to move this to the social. My memory has always been terrible
I've been a wondering how much time some members spend on this forum and why? and do you think you're hooked?
Also, some (relatively) new members have already achieved over a 1,000 posts in a few weeks!!!!!!!!!
I figure it is a terrific place to grow your knowledge and (at the same time) help new members/vapors by answering their questions; but is there an issue here regarding 'status' or else something more elusive.......
My family think I spend too much time on it but my average posts are only around 2 posts a day, granted, mostly accumulated in the last few months.
What's your take on it?
I was born in 1990 so I have never seen anyone smoking indoors, but I have been watching some movies from the 80s and it seems like everyone was lighting up anywhere without even a bat of the eye.
Is it true that people would smoke casually in banks, airplanes, restaurants, etc - without any uproar? It blows my mind that this period in time existed. Like didnt anyone complain about the smell? About kids being around? Second hand?
Do any members who lived in that time have any stories to offer, I find this stuff kind of interesting.
I just realized that as of a few days ago I have been haunting these halls for half a decade. WOW.
I would like to thank all of the members here for the advise, knowledge, and laughs.
I would also like to encourage all of the new members to explore this forum thoroughly and spread the word to those who have not benefited from the amazing people here.
Thank you all.
See ya around.
I live in West Central Florida, in a small community that has smokers and non smokers, and then there's me. I know of no other confirmed vapors, and I have a rather large circle of acquaintances. We've got one BM shop in town, run by people who are only looking to sell you the high dollar ($200 batteries) items. I have seen a few kids in this shop (18-25 yrs old) blowing massive amounts of vape out of their drippers connected to batteries I believe I could jump start my car with, but at 61 yrs old I can't relate to these kids. I've taken up vaping as a life saving measure, not a social thing. I have faced ridicule and prejudice from many who know nothing about vaping.
This is just a quick little note to thank ECF and our members for teaching me what I know about vaping and having lend a supporting hand when needed. I love going into the New Members section and seeing some of my old questions asked by newbees. Yes, I always take time to answer the best I can. Thanks again ECF.
Like most of us out here, we're anxiously awaiting the 15,000,000th post. However, I've been keeping an eye on the number of members on ECF.
I'm wondering if we'll hit 223,000 members before we hit 15,000,000 posts....
We're under 13,000 posts to go and only 129 members to go....
Place your bets
Check out the PIF forum!
Many members have accumulated vaping gear over time and generously trade or donate their outgrown stuff. Bookmark the Pif forum. Check it often. Then, when your time comes - Pay it Forward.
There are PIF forums for the UK and Canada, as well.
When I was new I found navigating this forum overwhelming. I thought it might help some of the new folks to point out a good place for them to go.
Happy Vaping!
I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, and he had asked that I try to quit vaping and switch to nicotine gum because ecigs create formaldehyde in the lungs, which is terrible for you. I know many of you have dealt with this BS, so here's a short, easy-to-read article by a doctor explaining exactly why these studies are ridiculous and misleading. There is much more in-depth stuff out there, but for something by a medical professional that is still very scientific but still easy enough to approach that people will actually read it, I think it's pretty darn good.
The deception of measuring formaldehyde in e-cigarette aerosol: the difference between laboratory measurements and true exposure
There is a rumor started that the mood bar is a perk for supporting members, I have it on very good authority that the perk is assigned to ECFs best looking , most brilliant, and valued members
Hey all, very few will remember me but I was one of the earlier on adopter mainstays here years ago, especially in the REO and mech mod arenas. Spent thousands on mods back then, but I don't regret it as it helped me kick a 23 year butt habit. I still have several higher end devices from about 5-8 years ago that I will never use again but enjoy looking at. I wonder if there is any market at all for 'classic' higher end devices amongst today's members?
I am talking about REO Woodvilles and REO Grands, Bogger Boxes, SUPER T ELA, Atom mechs, Provari Minis, carto tanks and carts and a couple others that I don't even remember the name of but were THE THING back in the day LoL.
I may let go of them if there is a market at all for them amongst today members. Just curious if there is a renaissance yet for these things.
I would like to thank ECF, and every member here, for helping me to quit cigarettes as an involuntary lifestyle. The information gathered here has been invaluable. In no other group that I've been involved with, have I seen such a gathering of the most informed and intelligent people. Without all of you, my success would have never seen the light of day. I'd been absent for a long time, because I didn't feel the need once I had an expert handle on all of this, but the new developments have brought me back. Vaping has come a long way since I began here, and traded my cigalike in for an eGo, and ECF provided me with the arsenal to make informed choices on what works for me. Than you again.
For those who haven't read any of my posts, I have been free from cigarettes for 10 years, thanks to vaping. I wouldn't say that I'm smoke free, but it's now my choice, on the very rare occasion, to smoke a cigarette. I know some will say it's always been my choice, but for the enlightened, it hasn't been my choice since shortly after I started 37 years ago. There have been pitfalls, and strides, and today I can honestly say that if I can't vape, I will never pick up a pack of cigarettes again.
