Needs Some Recs (rta Rda Box Mod), Help Before Vapegeddon!!!

Hi ECF!

I've been hiding my head in the sand and thankfully resurfaced just in time (I hope!) to acquire and stock up on some essentials before the mail ban goes into effect.

I used to have a couple Kayfun RTA's but I got rid of them a couple years ago. I have been using a FreeMax FireLuke Mesh tank out of pure simplicity and convenience. But now with the mail ban I'm realizing an RTA and / or RDA are going to be needed when my drop in mesh coils run out. Something trustworthy and not too complicated to set up ideally.

Also, looking for a trusty box mod (100W) or 2 that isn't crazy expensive.

I've been scrambling trying to read through as many threads as possible but it hasn't been easy now that I have a 14 month old requiring all my attention. I'm hoping you all can help me out so I can place a couple more orders and feel at ease with the end near. At least not have to be at the mercy of whatever B&M store that might survive.

TIA!

Ultrasonic Cleaners, Pure Grain Alcohol And Coils

I remember seeing a few threads some time back saying that ultrasonic cleaners are awesome for almost unlimited use of stock coil heads. My question is, why hasn't this gotten more popular with the advent of expensive coils? Does it not work as well? I'm curious. I might pick one up if it's awesome for stock coils. It'll pay for itself in 2 packs of coils. Thoughts?

Mesh Upgrade From Big Baby/x Baby User

So I've been vaping for 2-3 years now. Mainly on a Big Baby Beast and Baby Beast. When the X Baby came out I got one but stayed with the big baby. X Baby motivated me that vaping wasn't gonna get much better than what we already had. Now after 6-9 months out of the loop, I see mesh is in. My local supply doesn't even carry X Baby coils anymore. So since I've been using the same 2 tanks for over 2 years, well it's time. I just want something better than what 2017 had to offer. I have rebuilt coils in the RTA for the Big baby. I can build basic coils. I want easy. I'm too busy to do anything past a simple mesh RTA or a new mesh sub ohm replaceable cool setup.

I like DL Vapes in the 30-50 watt range. With the Smoke stuff I've never went over 50 watts and I'm happy with that or I would need a new mod.

It would be nice to get a recommendations that the typical local supply would carry coils for

Mesh Vs Coil

Hi I've been in the vaping industry for years now and have had many tanks over the years both mesh and normal coil, for me mesh was amazing at flavour and for more cooler vape lovers, however I found that normal coils provided more cloud and less juice consumption with some tanks and were able to achieve the same amount of flavour as mesh with the right build. But I still curious as too how many people prefer mesh over normal coils and vice versa and why ?

Crown 4 Mesh Coil Issues

Hey everyone,

So I've had the crown 4 tank for about 6 or so months and switched to mesh coils a couple months ago, off and on. The reason being is that it seems with the 4-packs I've bought, it's almost guaranteed that 2 will be either VERY picky about how tight i screw the tank and coil on the base. It has to be JUST tight enough where the box gets an ohm reading, but any tighter it looks like it shorts out (the ohm reading blinks 0.00). I've never messed around with the coil before, i usually just end up going back to the traditional coils and dealing with the lacking taste. Any suggestions? I'm using the sub box mini v2 if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

Just Thought I'd Share

well I finally got it in the mail today. And have really enjoyed vaping on it. Right now I just got the atlantis V2 on powerful plus mode. My atlantis nickel coils should be in Thursday so I can try out temp control in a couple of my tanks. I've also decided to try my hand at building even though I swore I never would. Got the mutation X V4 on the way as well. Hopefully this is a decent deck to build on. I am not a beginner really, I have wrapped a couple coils for my buddies and did a few builds on their attys. This vaping thing can get expensive! Vape they said, it'll be cheaper than smoking they said....pffft. lol

All The Wasted Years!!!!!

I've been vaping with v4l and v2 e-cigs for a couple years mostly the ego style ones. I love messing with all the technology I have and I'm very hands on so I figured I'd stop limiting myself. I bought a Sigelei 100w Plus, Kanger Sub Tank Mini, and a Mutation X V3 RDA.

WOW

I feel stupid for not doing this earlier. I've been vaping 12mg for a couple months now, but bought 6mg for the Sub Tank and RDA and that is even too strong! I diluted it with 100% PG to make it 3mg and it is much better. I couldn't be happier. No dry hits.. no leaking... all the problems I've dealt with over the past couple years are gone and I'm experiencing vaping like never before.

Success!!

Plus I finally convinced my GF to start vaping on New Years Eve and she hasn't looked back. She's using the V2 Pro Series 3 which she loves and we even found some really good house made flavors at a local vaping shop that we really liked. She got cotton candy and I got cigar. I didn't think a vape shop would have juice that good and they even made it fresh right in front of us. To my surprise no steeping required!

Alright I'm rambling. I will leave you with this pic.. and to all you musicians out there that is a ART Pro MPA II preamp with genuine Telefunken tubes from the 60's.

Mesh Coils Vs Non-mesh

I'm really new to vaping. Well I've had a snow wolf for awhile, I quit and picked it back up after I turned 21 because the smoking age in Virginia raised. But anyway I never got the difference between these two. Are there really advantages to mesh??

Man Down!! Mvp3 With Nautilus Problem....

I'm only on day nine with my new MVP3 and Nautilus tank (started out with the 1.6 BVC) and I'm down here... Yesterday as I was vaping my MVP shut down and wouldn't turn back on. I had just full charged it but tossed it on the charger anyway and it came back on. Took a couple of vapes and BAM, down again... Put it on the charger again and it came on again but this time the display was flashing two dashes in the ohms section.

So, I switched out to the other head that came with it, had a few vapes and WAMO, down again. Plugged it in, came back up, couple of vapes and down again and again this other head now flashes the two dashes in the ohms section. Now here's the weird thing... When I popped the second head on it read 2.3 ohms. I didn't think anything of it at the time, being new and all, but when I just went to confirm which head I used first and second I read the stamp on the second and it says it's only a 1.8 ohm head.... Another strange thing is that as I was vaping on this second head I changed the watts to improve the vape after a couple vapes and I noticed it read 2.5 ohms, then after a few more vapes it went down with the flashing dashes.

When I took out the second head I notice there is juice in the very bottom of the bottom hardware, where the head is screwed into. I'm assuming this means it was flooded, but being a rookie I could be wrong. At any rate.... I'm not happy vaper right now In hind sight I realize I should have bought some extra heads, but again... Rookies make rookie mistakes right In my defense though, the guy at the shop said I should have been good for a month with what I had bought so I thought I'd be good. I uploaded a quick video to show the MVP3 display and the bottom hardware in case it was needed. You can see it he

So now the questions... What would cause two new heads to die like that, or are they dead? Would it be a head problem or a problem with the MVP3? Am I correct regarding the fluid in the bottom hardware being a result of flooding, and if so what would have caused the flooding and could this have been the cause of the dead heads? And finally... What type of wire can I use to rebuild the heads? I've been reading a lot and watching a lot of videos on rebuilding over the past month or so and hear about nichrome, kanthal, and caplan... Does it need to be a specific type of wire or can I use some wire that I have here that I used for other purposes? Maybe an old guitar string? LOL

I'm desperate here.... I need my vape!!! I don't have the cash to buy new heads until around the 18th of the month and there's a carton of stinkys in the fridge and I do NOT want to resort to them if I start going bonkers Any assistance at all is greatly appreciated.

What Is It With Mesh?

I'm so tired of the recent "mesh only" craze. I just don't understand it at all.

I have used roundwire sub tanks for close to 4 years, and can generally get a pretty accurate flavour representation from my juices. Obviously some are better than others, but the og Uwell Crown coils and .4 Cleito coils are pretty stellar.

Recently decided to mix it up and try something new, so i went on the hunt for a new sub tank, only for the market to be completely littered with mesh-only tanks. The only tanks i could find that still use roundwire are from years ago.

I figured i had been missing something, so i picked up a collection of mesh sub tanks, only to be dissapointed by every one of them.

The list was:
Ehpro Raptor with both the raptor coils and the Horizontech Falcon coils.
Innokin isub B.
Aspire Odan Evo.
Aspire Cleito Pro.
Geekvape Zeus.

I got absolutely zero of the liquid nuance that i get from 3+ year old roundwire coils. I just get a blast of full-on "all the flavours at once", and for juices with sweetener, that is the primary profile. Interestingly, i found that with fruit flavours, it was a little more palatable, but since i primarily vape bakerys this wasnt all that much use.

I figured i would give the mesh rta's and rda's a shot, as everyone is raving about them, so i picked up:
Wotofo Profile RDA.
Wotofo Profile Unity RTA.
VandyVape Mesh RTA.

Tried all of them, same dissapointing experience. They were basically mesh sub tanks in RTA form. Literally exactly the same "flavour".

So, after wasting a chunk of money on all of these, im back to using the Cleito Pro with the 0.4ohm Cleito coils and the Uwell Crown Mini with the og Uwell Crown coils with the occasional use of the Wake Mod co RTA when i can be bothered to rebuild.

Is it just me? I dont understand the hype in any way. Maybe it's just my particular flavour profile doesn't work great with mesh, or maybe its just me, i dunno. It's just a shame to see that any recent sub tanks that come out are all mesh, apart from the very occasional sprinkling of roundwire thrown in here and there.

Anyone else have a similar experience? And have any recommendations on recent sub tanks to try that aren't just mesh?

Modified Drip On Sub Ohm Baby Beast With Mesh Coils

So admittedly I dont know if this counts as m
odding when people are building actual boxes to fit atomized and house batteries from scratch but what's everyone think about this addition its a new use for something I dont use anymore the top to the tank of my evod 2 built by aspire a just kinda screwed it into the wide gauge tip of my baby beast sub ohm tank I'm using the .15 mesh coils and tightening the draw and I find that I can get quite lot of flavorful vapor at 40 watts and 2.70v set to hard hit on my aspire skystar

Curious what anyone might think of this and if anyone maybe has some other easy DIY flavour chase inovations
