What Are Your Nic Strengths?

Hi fellow vaper, I have been wondering;
-What was your nicotine strength when you switched to vaping? (mg/mL)
-How many cigarettes did you use to consume per day before switching?
-Have you ever experienced shortness of breath after switching for a while?
-Does 12mg irritate your lungs at all?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you, happy vaping! <3

Shortness Of Breath And Lungs Aching After Vaping?

Hi all I've been away from you amazing people for a while because sadly I had to break my streak of non-smokery, of reasons that I don't want to explain to keep this thread shorter, but would gladly if you asked me on the comments.
2 days ago I bought 200ml of 12mg 80/20 n-base in two 100ml bottles, and 30 ml of ready to vape 50/50 12mg juice flavoured with; Kentucky bourbon, coconut, roasted almond, vanilla and brown sugar (tastes like heaven). well, yeah I smoked heavily for nearly one and a half year and just returned to vaping 2 days ago and no desire for cigarettes at all since! (I have a problem though)

I even have this pack that I am not throwing away that I could smoke easily, but you know the trick I am away and I am for good. I wanted that nic rush asap and others just don't cut it, that's why I chose to vaporize 12mg, but will dilute one bottle of the n-base to 8 or 6mgs. The other reason being that vapes and selling any vape products are all banned here, (IT SUCKS!) so I want and need to get everything as cheap as possible(.... is expensive).

I am using a vaporesso revenger X that I chose thanks to you amazing people <3 with the stock NRG tank's GT 4 coil, not coils , Which I had to rebuild myself again. Trust me, there are no hot spots or anything, just like the original is what it turned out to be, so I know that the coil is not the problem. I know that 100% it is not because I vaped 0 mg to get used to it while I was waiting for the shipment and it tasted amazing and I had no negative effects at all. I added 9ml of mixology prime flavouring to one of my 100ml n-bases(caramel, vanilla, dried nuts and a slight touch of tobacco) and while I was waiting for it to steep, I wanted to taste it and yeah it tasted decent as well.

The problem with everything (or me) is that my lungs ache when I wake up, (happened rarely if I smoked too many cigarettes that night) I get too much of a throat hit, but the most concerning for me is that I get shortness of breath almost like my alveoli shrunk and it's like; I breathe, and my lungs fill up with air like 1 second later, I can not get the satisfaction of a deep breath, and the effects last for like 3 to 7 minutes. As I said, I smoked heavily for 1.5 years before that and this is what concerns me. Sorry for the novel-long thread but I'm just kind of in panic you know? Hopefully, you understand me. I am vaping non-flavoured n-base as of now and it is gentler on me but is still the same.

What could this be? Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you so, so much for reading this. Lovey'all

How Does Vaping Affect Your Breath Compared To Analogs?

I think that it's safe to say that many smokers of analog cigs have bad breath, for obvious reasons.

But what about from vaping?

I've only been doing this for around a month, and it's kind of hard for me to notice my own breath, but I obviously don't smell like an ashtray anymore.

Does a vaper's breath smell like the flavor that they're vaping all day, or would you say that vaping has little or no affect on a person's breath?

I realize that something like this varies from person to person, but I'm just asking in a general sort of way, for the average person.

Does vaping menthol give you better breath, like if somebody ate a lifesavers or a tic tac?

Vaping And Music

First off I wanna start by saying this post isn’t made to bad mouth vaping in any way and I must say I am really going to miss doing it

Just to give some context I have been vaping for around 7 years and I make rap music

As the years have gone by I have began to notice the shortness of breath taking effect very slowly but I feel due to what I do, it is a lot more apparent than the average user and the average user would probably not be effected by this at all.

I used to be able to go a very long period of time without breathing flawlessly, compared to now where I can barley mutter 4 sentences without a huge pain in my lungs , coughing and becoming light headed due to straining

I used to work in a vape shop so I am very informed on about almost everything to do with the stuff

I have tried many different variants of PG/VG , many different devices , flavours , nicotine and no nicotine and nothing has ever taken away the effect and I can only imagine it will get worse and worse so I have decided to quit

I made this post to see if anyone else who deals with vocal work has experienced similar effects over a long period of time

I still think vaping is an amazing alt and everyone should make the switch

Shortness Of Breath/ Allergy To Pg

Hello

So after vaping now for 2 years I recently started developing shortness of breath, chest tightening, and headaches. I read through some of the information posted about allergies and nicotine levels, and through process of elimination found out that pg is what is causing it. I was just curious if anyone has had this problem? Also any 100% vg users that can recommend different companies to try. I was really in to nite lite vapor and am really going to miss it. Kinda bummed out.

I need recommendations for tank set up as well. I have been using a kayfun 4 and it's been hit and miss. It seems to like Johnson creek juice but tons of dry hits with heathers heavenly vapes

Thanks

Nicotine Strength For Sub-ohm Vaping

Hi I have a question about nicotine strength in my juice for sub-ohm vaping: I've only started vaping my tfv12 prince smok tank 4 days ago, so total newbie- used to do only mtl before that. I'm currently using Q4 coils, 0.4 ohm, vaping at 50-60 Watts: quite happy with a cooler vape, I tried them at 70-90 but slightly too warm for me, maybe in the future it will change.
Majority of the sites and youtube videos that I came across where sub-ohm vaping was discussed said that the maximum nicotine strength used when sub-ohm vaping should be 6mg/ml. So I've mixed a few juices, 70/30 vg/pg, ranging from 3-6mg nic. I noticed that I'm chain-vaping with very little nicotine hit. But i kept nicotine cravings sattisfied with my mtl device used simultanously.
Today however, I wanted to check something. I've mixed some 65/35 VG/PG liquid for my gf's smok nord pod a few days ago, with nicotine at approx. 11.5mg/ml, so I popped it into my prince tank to try it. Expected to choke on it but no- it vapes great at 60 Watts, tastes good (carnival sherbet concentrate + a little bit of strawberry cream concentrate added) nicotine hit: I can feel it, but unless I go crazy it doesn't make me nic sick.

Is this normal? Why do people recommend going max 6mg nic for sub-ohm vaping? Is it because they aren't recent ex-smokers or they never were smokers, and just use low nic liquids at their stage of vaping? Thanks

Trouble Vaping After 4 Years

Hi all-
I haven't posted in a long while. I am in need of some suggestions as to what could be going in with me all of the sudden with my vaping.

Within the past two months I have a very hard time breathing when vaping. I was just thinking at first that I was getting sick or something. Then, I stopped for a few days completely and I felt better so I started again. The evening of the first day back to vaping, I laid in bed trying to go to sleep feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest and that my throat was closing up. It was very scary. So scary that I have now been to the pulmonologist as well as the cardiologist (because the chest heaviness was bad). My lungs are clear and heart is in good condition. Soooooo....I went and purchased a ZERO nicotine juice thinking that maybe it was the nicotine. NOPE.....that didn't work either, I have used my e-cig only on the past two Saturdays and it has zero nicotine liquid in it and I still have the same problem after the day of vaping. I feel like I am struggling to breath. It is horrible. It takes a day or so to subside. I really enjoy my vape. I quit analogs on April 9, 2011 and have been vaping every since. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could possibly be? Maybe I should try just VG Juices....would that make a difference? Please help....any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!

E-liquid Nicotine Calculator For Android

Hey folks, I've recently created a website E-Liquid Nicotine Consumption/Absorption Calculator to calculate equivalent of how many analog 'regular' cigarettes (in terms of nicotine) we're inhaling when vaping on e-juice.

I've got some really nice feedback from you, so I've decided to give it a shot and also create a mobile version of the website. For now, it's only available for Android.

Android app is called 'E-Liquid Nicotine Calculator' and it calculates above details, as well as it allows you to estimates monthly savings of switching from regular analog cigarettes to vaping.

Please let me know what you think or how I can make it better.

You can download it from Google Play:
E-Liquid Nicotine Calculator - Android Apps on Google Play
(as long as you have an Android device it should work)

Do You Really Feel Better With The Switch?

I'm sure this question was ask before, but I can't find it.

For the people who use to smoke cigarettes, did you really feel a change health wise after switching to vaping?

Like:

Lungs capacity
Less tired
Sleeping better
General well being
...

I know it's been only 12 days for me, but I can't really see any changes health wise.

Vaping Destroying My Stamina?

im a highly sports-active person and ive noticed that i am breathing much heavier and my stamina is much lower. Ive been vaping about 1ml a day using my aspire nautilus mini on 4.2v 12mg nic for about 7months now. It's really starting to get me concerned about my health and if vaping is damaging my lungs.. i used to be able to play intense basketball for an hour without getting really tired and out of breath but now i can barely go 10 minutes before breathing heavily.

Has anyone also had experience with this problem and are there any solutions? i will attempt to vape less and see if it gets better

Lower Nicotine When Doing Lung Hits?

So I've been mouth to lung vaping since I started vaping. Started at 24 mg with the Halo Triton and when I upgraded to the iStick and the Nautilus I lowered my nicotine down to 15 mg. It's been fine.......getting enough nicotine so I don't crave analogs, not getting too much nicotine so that I start feeling sick. Throat hit has been fine and not uncomfortable.

Yesterday I started doing lung hits with the iStick and the Nautilus and with the greater amount of vapor I can produce, I stepped the nicotine down to 12 mg since I also started to get a little lightheaded (I suppose with the greater amount of vapor I am also taking in more nicotine, even though nicotine absorption through the lungs is not supposed to be as good as through the mouth and nose). The juice that I am using is also a 70VG/30PG mix as compared to the 50/50 I was vaping before. However this morning I woke up with an irritated throat and the vape (even when switching back to mouth to lung) feels more harsh.

Do I need to step down the nicotine level even more to 6 mg? Is this normal when going from mouth to lung to direct lung hits? I'm not subohming, so I didn't expect that I would need to drop it down that much. I'm afraid that if I drop it down too much, then I'm going to have more cravings and will need to vape constantly.
