During the "panic buying" time, I ordered a ton of Cotton Bacon Prime.
Before that, I had ordered 2 packages. Both were authentic and said "Wick n Vape" on the package.
This new order has been authenticated. But the individual packages now says "WNV" instead of "Wick n Vape.
Is it possible "Wick n Vape" changed their name to reflect the changing times?
Hmmm ......... interesting.
So i'm not familiar with every single atomizer on the market. They're all different in their design. One potential problem i do believe to be universal in all these devices though is an "Airlock".
Regardless of how much cotton wool has been crammed into the wells of an RTA, or whether you primed your drop in coil enough, an airlock will prevent the e liquid from getting to the wick everytime. Time and time again you either re-wick or swap out the drop in coil. Then you think "there is definitely something wrong with the atomizer".
How many times have you built a new coil, or simply re-fiiled on an existing wick, and then found all you get is dry hits and you can't figure out why ?. Maybe you eventually decide "this atomizer is no good".
The simple solution is to add more e liquid than you think you should when "priming" the coil/wick. It's not a process which takes just a minute or two. The whole idea is to let the e liquid soak right through the cotton wool, through the channels until it starts to seep out the other end of those channels, where ever that might be !. To go from a tank to a coil/wick the e liquid has to travel through the channels.
If cotton wool soaked in e liquid is at one end of the channels then that is what is causing the "airlock".
Simply put "it's "trapping" the air in the channels and causing an airlock".
You get rid of all the air in the channels by "bleeding" the system. This should be the most important part of "priming". Allowing the e liquid you've added as a primer to expel all the air from the system. Without doing this you are running the risk of successive dry hits and confusion.
So you add e liquid as a primer, let it soak into the cotton wool then add a few drops more. Then, wait a few minutes to see how far the e liquid has got. Wait for it to come out the other end because that what you should be looking for. Once you see it coming out the other end of the channels you know the system has been fully bled. And then you can reassemble your device and fill the tank.
I was looking around at wicks and decided I finally wanted to try Rayon.
The fun part is, I started looking on eBay and noticed a small inconspicuous baggy (o.o!)
It appears exactly the same as a small bag I got as a sample from ordering from a few places-
Cellucotton 100 Rayon 36 ft 3 Packs Unbleached Cotton Vape Atty RDA RBA Wick | eBay
Looks exactly like this! But no label!
It was a "Freebie" so I have no idea, the note that came with it was "Here's some wick for you to try! Thank you for ordering!"
So...how would I tell if it's rayon or just cotton?
ok ... so there was a thread that showed insect droppings in some cotton someone got with a RBA ... but I can't seem to find it.
So I thought I'd have a look at the cotton sample in my Kanger Subtank Mini & .. sure enough ... bug bits & little black "dots" (bug poop I assume). Okay ... fine ... I've not used it & will not use it. I have enough cotton (bacon) to keep me going for years, and I'm happily puffing away on the .50ohm OCC premade coil supplied by ........
........and then it dawned on me that it was supplied by the same folks that put a wad of bug-gunk-ridden cotton in the box with my ST mini ... Kanger.
So ... the question is if anyone has taken apart the OCC coils & found little black specks in the cotton, or other foreign "pieces" ?? I'm wondering if the cotton Kanger uses for the OCC coils is the same cotton they give you in the box to wick the RBA deck with.
Just curious... must be some kind of tradition. Vape reviewers always say "let's take it down and do a build" then "let's take it up top and vape it" Do they all actually have a basement or is this a throwback to the "old days"?
I'm not proud of this, but I broke down and had a cig this morning (been months since I quit, but still "slip" once in a while)
The next door neighbor came by (she knows I vape) and there I am smoking. She said " just don't vape... it's very dangerous!" It almost killed me... and she didn't seen concerned at all that I was smoking (I think her husband used to smoke and had heart issues... he passed away) I made one of my "bad jokes"... said "it will drive you to smoking again" She didn't even get it. It's called "social engineering" and is very powerful (at least to the "sheeple") We have all discussed this. Your average person doesn't read or listen to the whole story, just knows "vaping is dangerous!" I give up... just can't get through to some people
Do you know what I miss... I miss walking into my favorite Vape store and the people there are tooting over the latest and greatest Mod or device that just came out.
I miss seeing the group of trick vapers testing out there New " O " or " Jellyfish " and everyone taking videos or photos.
I really miss when I could sample flavors and get real genuine feedback on what others tasted like. When there were no Bans, No Hate demonstrated by the media, and the FDA trying to shut vaping down.
Here is some words for thought. . . With all the ban and all the hate why the F*** are cigarettes still around? I mean I know they follow guidelines but that .... is KNOWN to cause CANCER and DEATH! Why stop the only thing keeping me, you, family from them?
Backwards, this human species of law and order is so backwards.
I just want to Vape in Peace...
Our daughter said that she found a vape in her 13-year old daugher's room. I can hear it now: "Well PopPop vapes." If it had been cigarettes, it would be "Well mom, you smoke." I don't know who she would have blamed if it was alcohol.
You hate to play the Age Card with teenagers, but sometimes that's all you got.
In a recent Simpsons episode that aired a few weeks ago 5/3/2015:
Bart tries vaping and buys them from the quickie mart:
Apu: "Remember, this is not kid stuff. Now would you like Bubblegum Flavor, Strawberry Shortcake or Watermelon Dream?"
Maggie also vapes:
Bart: "It's still legal in this state! The bill's stuck in committee!"
"It's an e-cigarette. Care to vape?"
"Now, vape up."
Marge: Bart's smoking! e-Cigarettes!
Homer: (shrugs) Aw, those are totally legal. (gets excited) Tell me, does he like bubble-gum or strawberry!?!
We are having a very small Thanksgiving at home. Myself, my mother, my two nephews and the lady next door (the same lady that saw me vaping on the back porch and yelled "OMG you have to stop vaping... it's going to kill you!") I rolled my eyes and thought "oh no... here we go again". My nephew is an ER doctor. Both the lady and my nephew saw that I was going out back to vape and asked about "the lung disease thing" I would have never brought it up but they asked so I explained. Both were very interested in what I said and totally trusted in what I said. It was so cool. Maybe not an actual "miracle" but such a good experience for me Happy Thanksgiving everyone... Peace out, vape on!
Would using the term/s "ripe", "ripen" and "ripened" be a more colourful way to describe the curing process of D.I.Y e liquids ?.
