Hi all. Been vaping over ten years now, this Forum was tremendously helpful to me when I got started but haven't been back for awhile. I need help on a new setup. Ive been vaping on 510 dual coil cartomizers, double punched, in a tank for years now but the carts are almost impossible to get now. I am a mouth to lung vaper and use a 40W box mod at 7.7W with a 1.5 or 2 ohm cart. Started at 24 mg juice but down to 4 mg.
I am technologically challenged so hopefully I got all that right.
Anyway, can anyone recommend a setup for me to replace my precious carts? There are SO MANY options it's hard to pick.
When I first started vaping I always swore off building and dripping. I liked the ease of filling and vaping away. About 3 weeks ago I picked up my first rda. (Mutation x v4) it was ok and it leaked something awful so I set it aside. Well after watching mike vapes review of the troll I decided to pick it up. Just got it in today and threw a dual coil 24 gauge build in it. .came out to .34 ohms and vaping it at 60 watts on my m class. I haven't been able to put it down. I think I'm officially hooked on building and dripping. So glad I picked up this rda. Juice well is deep, holds lots of juice. For anyone who has been considering it, I'd recommend you pick it up. Here's a pic of my setup just for fun. I love my M class too! Vape on my friends!
Hey guys my name is Brian and I'm a new member. I was an avid vaper from 2014-2017, but I went back to smoking nasty cancer sticks and came back to vaping in January of this year. I picked up a Smok RPM80 and it's not a bad pod system setup, but I want to get back into sub ohm vaping and after extensive research I have come down to 3 top contenders and I want to know which of these 3 options you would pick. Also of anyone owns any of these three vape kits can you please let me know what you think of them. 1. Freemax Maxus 100W w/ MaxLuke Tank 2. Geekvape Aegis Max 100W w/ Zeus sub ohm tank 3. Vapresso Gen S w/ NRG-S Tank. Please let me know what you would go with!/.
Thank,
Brian M
Greetings,
maybe I was bored. Maybe to much doom and gloom on all the bans of new gear and the shipping of it. I started to think - why not have some fun with some of the stuff I already have?
Cases in point - the two rigs in the picture above. I believe that all the hardware (mods and tanks) are over 5 years old. The setup on the left has a bit of a story about it.
Sitting on my desk is a few old tube mods that I wonder what it would be like to use again. I found a old (I think KFv3) tank laying around, built a very low mass 2ohm coil in it, filled it up and went and tried it out on my old 15W tube mods. Sadly not a one of them liked the KFv3 and would register the 2ohm coil. So what to do? I had a old Evic that surely could be put into power mode. While I was not to surprised that it all works (I've actually refilled the tank a few times and replaced the battery once) the vape is more restrictive than I tend to like and be it the build (or the 10W power mode) I don't really like the flavor of the unflavored juice with this. Another negative is that while it is top fill, there is no juice flow control so the atomizer get flooded each time the tank is refilled. While I could (and have) used it in a pinch, I can get 1-2 tank fills on a single 3000mah battery.
The setup on the right represents some historical firsts for me. Years ago when I first got into rebuilding a Lemo2 was one of three tanks I bought when I started. It was also my first top fill tank. Sitting under it is my first ever Dicodes mod (a #6). This mod is setup in TC mode with 380F temperature setting and 23W.
Be it the better tank or the use of TC mode, the setup on the right provides a good vape. The 26650 has enough mah to easily allow me to vape the tank dry (takes me most of the day) and since years ago I got Dicodes very over priced charger, I just drop the mod in the charger at the end of the day and its ready for more vaping in a few hours.
So, anyone else putting to use or having some fun with +5 year old vaping gear? How do you like it?

I joined this forum 8 yrs ago. After a couple of years of learning and contributing, I moved on, continued to check back every once in a while but never stopped vaping. I very rarely buy premixed juice, maybe 2-3 times in the past 5 years so when all these lungs issues came up and every other news story was about how vaping was going to kill you, I knew that I was probably OK since I make my own juice. Then it started to sound like there was actual medical proof that vaping was leading to serious lung, heart, etc, disease. Damn near threw all my gear out after reading news stories from several reputable resources confirming my worst fear.
Then I decided to come back here. I can usually pick out the BS pretty quickly and my hackles are already up from having to fend off endless well meaning "you have got to stop vaping!!! " conversations and obvious postings of the news stories on FB .
I grant you that I want all these warnings to be wrong because I love vaping, I really do. It does not make me cough, it doesn't stink up the house and I was pretty confident that it was saving my life. So I'm really kinda POed about all this crap. And I know I'm not alone. I want honest answers and that's what I came here for. After reading just a few threads I'm feeling more relaxed (or is it because I'm sucking on the nautilus mini like a milk shake...). I'm certainly not going to throw anything out...just yet. Anyway, thanks for still being here, nice to drop in .
Hi guys, i started vaping a couple of weeks ago, i quit smoking like 5 years ago, i tried a cigarette after i quit maybe once in a while probably 1 every year , and i never coughed, well i started vaping and i noticed if i do lung hits i cough, if i do mouth to lung hit i cough, if i do mouth hits i barely cough but still do sometimes, so does that means im allergic to PG and i should switch to 100% VG? or could be im still not used to vaping?
Please tell me based on your experience...
thanks
Haven't vaped in like 8 years? So most of everything is new to me now..
But I did a little reading and I figured out a few things I need in a vape, but really there is so much, it's kinda hard to know what is good and what is not for brands and styles, so I'm hoping I can get some help by experienced vapers here.
I'm looking to quit smoking and here's what I'm looking for in a vape setup.
MTL Mouth to Lung setup so I can draw in and then inhale like a cigarette, but I would like a decent cloud. Not looking for huge, just good and maybe be able to slightly adjust what gets produced with using only 50/50 juice blends.
RTA setup? I need a rebuildable coil tank system.
I need to keep my maintenance cost low, so I need to be able to rebuild new coils.
No leak tank is a must. Needs to lay down on side on table and keep in pocket.
1 battery or 2. Doesn't matter much.
Would like a smaller mouthpiece compared to the larger style so I can get a good MTL draw.
Not sure what my options are for tanks and box mods or pen style? I think I need some kind of box mod? So i can slightly fine tune watts, volts to my coils if it just doesn't feel right and needs minor adjustments? Also like the option showing how many seconds used or draws.
There's so many tanks out there, but it's hard to tell what is really good.
The battery side, I really have no idea what I would need... watts, ohms, voltage.. with all the combinations, I can figure out what I really need..
Not looking to just be easy simple. I want good quality and I can only buy once.. I can't really afford it as it is, but I need to stop smoking..
But I want to buy once and be good for long time and not wish I bought something else. I just don't have the money to play around like that..
So I hope I can get some help here or suggestions to get me looking in the right direction for tank and battery side system.
Quality brands?
Brands to pass on because there is better options?
So I've been mouth to lung vaping since I started vaping. Started at 24 mg with the Halo Triton and when I upgraded to the iStick and the Nautilus I lowered my nicotine down to 15 mg. It's been fine.......getting enough nicotine so I don't crave analogs, not getting too much nicotine so that I start feeling sick. Throat hit has been fine and not uncomfortable.
Yesterday I started doing lung hits with the iStick and the Nautilus and with the greater amount of vapor I can produce, I stepped the nicotine down to 12 mg since I also started to get a little lightheaded (I suppose with the greater amount of vapor I am also taking in more nicotine, even though nicotine absorption through the lungs is not supposed to be as good as through the mouth and nose). The juice that I am using is also a 70VG/30PG mix as compared to the 50/50 I was vaping before. However this morning I woke up with an irritated throat and the vape (even when switching back to mouth to lung) feels more harsh.
Do I need to step down the nicotine level even more to 6 mg? Is this normal when going from mouth to lung to direct lung hits? I'm not subohming, so I didn't expect that I would need to drop it down that much. I'm afraid that if I drop it down too much, then I'm going to have more cravings and will need to vape constantly.
Hi all
I started vaping again after many years like a month ago. My set up atm is Aegis Solo (came with cerberus tank which leaked madly), currently using Aspire Tigon tank and I have an Innokin Zenith Pro which I haven't try yet.
Is taking me a while to figure out what kind of vaper I am, still not 100% sure tho, I know I prefer DL over MTL but not at high wattages because I believe the vapour becomes to warm for me. I like the Tigon tank but is a little to restricted for my liking, I will like more airflow.
Questions:
1 - Is DL at higher wattage always a warm/hot vapour?
2 - What suggestion for a more loose DL tank with vapour not to warm.
3 - Worst case scenario if the cerberus won't stop leaking (I do like the options of several coil compatibility) would the Zeus top airflow be a good option or others?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
So....been vaping for 6 years.
For the last couple years I was using a Reo with an RBA at .5 ohms and was going through about 12-15ml a day. A friend of mine let me try his sub ohm tank a few weeks ago and I was hooked! The flavor was better than my Reo/RBA setup and the vapor was OMG.
Anyways, I've since bought a couple of sub ohm tanks with an IPV2 Mini, then graduated to a Goliath RTA with an SX Mini M Class. Using the Goliath with a .44 ohm dual coil at 30 watts on the SXM and I'm going through anywhere from 25-35ml a day! This just seem excessive....
Can anyone recommend an RTA that would use less juice but still give me a lot of airflow and flavor? I'm not all about the vapor, although I do enjoy it.
I'm guessing that if you want lots of airflow (I'm a direct lung inhale kinda guy) and a warm, full vape you pretty much have to vape at higher wattages/lower ohms and therefore use excessive amounts of juice...just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and has successfully cut down their juice consumption.
FYI, I DIY my juice so cost is not really an issue...I'm a bit concerned that using this much juice every day just can't be good for you.
Background: I started vaping years ago when the technology was relatively immature and rapidly changing. I was an avid participant in this forum at the time. I used 808s and 510s with all sorts of atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers, and tanks (and most of them were awful by today's standards). Some of you who have also been around for a while may remember cutting up air conditioner filters...
But when I found the Eleaf iStick Pico and paired it with an Aspire Nautilus tank (1.8 Ohm coils) I was done. I have used that same rig for years and have been very satisfied. I even quit coming to this forum because I thought there was nothing left for me to learn.
But I know the technology has continued to advance and I am now wondering if I am missing out on the next great leap in vaping. I have come back to this forum (a little surprised my account was still active) seeking updated knowledge.
To be clear, I am not interested in creating giant thick clouds of vapor. In fact I generally prefer to keep my vaping clouds as thin and inconspicuous as possible when I am anywhere outside of my own home (which sadly is not too much these days). It is throat hit and flavor that I am after (so I try to find low VG juices, for example).
So I am hoping that some kind forum members will help me quickly get back up to speed on the state of the art for vaping. Maybe point me to some good resources that will explain the more recent advances. I tend to think of sub-ohm mods as being only for those giant clouds, but maybe I am full of it. But I have been told that rebuildable atomizers offer better flavor, so that interests me. I don't even know what I don't know at this point. Please help me learn.
Thank you in advance for your help.
