Resistance Checking Quick Question

Im about to do my first coil build and my shop was out of stock of resistance ohm checkers. I have an evic supreme though so can I use that device to check instead. or is that dangerous.

Question About Resistance

Whats the difference between vaping on a subohm coil and a higher like 1.5 or 2 ohm coil at the same wattage? I understand why resistance of the coil matters on a mech, but whats the difference on a VW device?

Coil Question?

Can someone help explain : why thicker wires (lower gauge) since they have less resistance why would they take longer to heat up ? One (me) would think the lower resistance would make heating up quicker- where am I going wrong ?

Thx.

Soon I Will...

Soon I will have a new personal vaporizer setup for the first time in about 2 years. The 510 threading of my original eVic has worn out and at the moment just barely holds a topper. She has 208,000+ puffs on her counter and she will be missed. On the bright side, I'm now going to upgrade to an eVic Supreme.

I'm also about to try building my first coil. I was given a Steam Turbine Tank clone and I'm waiting on my wick and wire to arrive in the mail.

Anyway, I was curious if anyone else has experience with this combination and what they think about it? Tips for my first build are also welcome. Here's what I'm using.

7x7 SS rope
2mm Ekowool hollow core
29g Kanthal

Thanks for reading.

Mech Mod Coil Build

Hi. I have just purchased the heavy hitter mech mod.
The coils I bought are wotofo .28 dual core fused claptons.
It is a asgard mini RDA, it will be a dual coil build , so resistance should be .14
Will a Samsung 40t battery be ok with this build.
In regards to saftey and amp draw.
Thanks

Does The Size Of The Vapor Cloud Depend On The Coil Resistance?

I know that the size of the vapor cloud depends on how much VG you have in your liquid, but does it also depend on the coil resistance that your using? I always use 1.8ohm coil heads and I was curious if I would get bigger clouds if I bumped up to 2-2.5ohm coils?

Cloud Chasing Coil Resistance

So I was just wondering what resistances (and I suppose coils) people use for their cloud chasing builds.
Is the lower resistance or surface area of the coils more important?

My current go-to setup is a dual micro coil at around 0.18 - 0.20 ohms with 24 guage (I think 4 wraps).

Do You Save Your Coil Builds?

Hey guys just recently got a Lemo2, wasn't happy with the coil that it came built with for some reason so built my first one to put in. I think it came out pretty good, I believe it came with 24g Kanthal and I did 11 wraps around 3.5mm came out to 0.9ohm. It takes a while to ramp up but seems to give a nicer vape to me than the stock one which was like 5 wraps around 2mm at 0.5 ohm.

Anyways, I tossed the original coil and now am wondering if I really had to or could have saved it. When you guys try new coil builds do you save your older builds? And being that it's really just resistance wire does a coil ever really need to be replaced or is it just for novelty/trying new builds?

Decent Multimeters Under $100?

I've recently started using 18650 batteries a lot along with a dedicated charger. I own a few rebuildable atomizers and a high wattage device. I also have a mechanical 18650 on the way. I want to look into getting a multimeter for purposes of checking battery voltage and checking atomizer resistance via 510 pin.

I've read a lot about the Fluke multimeters and they seem really great for the price, but the price is still up there. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on a inexpensive but decent digital multimeter.

I've been looking at this list of multimeters:
https://toolsreviewer.com/top-10-best-multimeters/

I like the this one so far:

Anyone have recommendations?

No Point Using Sub Ohm Coils On A Vw Mod?

I've yet to buy a VW mod but i will be soon. However the outcome of this thread will dictate which one i go for.
Ive been looking at a few:

MVP 3 Pro (60w mod)
Itaste 50w mod
Coolfire 4 40w mod
Kanger Subbox Mini

For arguments sake lets say you have a 0.5ohm stock coil in an Isub G tank on the Istick 50w. You also have a 2ohm stock coil for it.
The mod is capable of supplying 50w to both the 0.5 ohm coil and the 2ohm coil. 50w is 50w right? So what, if any, is the benefit of putting a sub ohm coil in the VW mod?
The manufacturers market them as sub ohm mods, but why go sub ohm if the device is capable of the same wattage on a 1+ohm coil, the experience would be the same?

Which leads me to a similar question. Would any VW mod from say 30w capable to 60w capable basically give the exact same experience for the majority of users assuming the same tank is fitted?

I'm quite new to this but i hope my question is understandable
Thanks
