Recently discovered the Slow Motion feature to record 240FPS on my iPhone, so my buddy and I decided to film a coil firing to see what it looked like slowed down. The build was a .21ohm quad coil on a Mutant 26650 w/ MNKE batts. I thought this looked pretty cool, and was wondering what others thought of this feature for showing off your builds.
Here is the one we recorded first.
Hey guys just recently got a Lemo2, wasn't happy with the coil that it came built with for some reason so built my first one to put in. I think it came out pretty good, I believe it came with 24g Kanthal and I did 11 wraps around 3.5mm came out to 0.9ohm. It takes a while to ramp up but seems to give a nicer vape to me than the stock one which was like 5 wraps around 2mm at 0.5 ohm.
Anyways, I tossed the original coil and now am wondering if I really had to or could have saved it. When you guys try new coil builds do you save your older builds? And being that it's really just resistance wire does a coil ever really need to be replaced or is it just for novelty/trying new builds?
I'm about to venture into doing my own builds and I had a silly question. I have watched dozens of videos on how to do builds and have even done a couple builds on some of my friends attys. I have one friend who on all his dual builds he uses two coils with different wraps. For example one coil with 7 wraps and one with 5. Does anyone else build this way? I have never asked him why he does this and in all the videos I've watched I've never seen anyone else do it. Is there a specific reason? Just curious
I found an "interim job" this week and decided to reward myself. I was originally stopping by the B&M to get another Subtank Mini as this job involves a 45 minute commute and I'd like another 'bigger' tank to take with me (almost got a regular sized Subtank, but it looked ridiculous on the VF and didn't feel comfortable), but they hadn't gotten them in yet, so as I was standing there browsing (as I always do if they don't have what I'm looking for), they said they got more RDA's in. So I looked, but wasn't thrilled with the one that was suggested first, so someone else suggested my new toy. It looks great on the VF! I already know how to build, but I asked about different flavor builds, so they sat down and showed me how to do twisted builds. They built me a twisted 28g single coil that reads ~0.6 Ohm. Holy cow the flavor! I know, I'm like a little kid discovering the swing set all over again for the first time. lol. So...what do you think of my new toy?
Is this normal?
This tank is new for me and the coil has cotton coming out of the holes. Def did not notice this when I first put it together and filled. Is this supposed to be happening? My old aspire coils never looked like that.

I recently picked up an infinite origen v2, my first build was single coil 2.4mm and it was not good on flavor, next build was dual coil 2.4mm at .5ohms, it was better on flavor. No matter what single coil build I try the flavor is just not there. Any suggestions on great flavor builds???
So I finally got around to putting a coil on the rba deck...my typical kayfun build, 28 ga @ 1.3-1.4 ohms. Everything looked good, coil tight....raised off the deck...screwed into the ohm meter....weirdness ensues....said 3.85 ohms...took it off, put it back on...said 4.6 ohms....looked to see if the coil screws were tight ...check. both tails tight under the screws...check. The coil deck screwed into the base...yep. No moisture in the base, nope. Put it on the ipv...said 7.7 ohms, then 4.2, then 3.90.............
Put the stock coils in the base, everything normal. Is there something I could be missing in the coil deck??? I got nothing else. No, I had not put the chimney on, so no short there. I may wrap another coil and see....I can only think that something is amiss in that little coil deck....or I am missing something in the build that is obvious. It's a really nice, tight looking coil too.
I've mostly used tanks but now I want to start building coils on my mutation rda and doge rda. I'm looking to want to build between a 0.2 and 0.3 ohm coil. How many wraps and what drillbit size should I use? Thanks!
So I decided to try a 1,6 ohm coil on kayfun v4 clone Tobecco and I am using 28gauge Kanthal with a cotton
wick on a Rdna 30 and its vaping well at 15 watts I have a kanger subtank mini coming in the mail and here goes my question
So the kanger subtank states that with a .5 ohm coil i could vape up to 30 watts but the voltage comes in at like 3.8 volts
I was under the impression that the rdna 30 needs at least 4 volts to work which kinda brings me to my second question
What is the point of of sub ohms? cant i just build a 2.0 ohm coil or something like that to achieve the results as if i was subohming
I am very confused on this
thanks for the replys in advance
Oh yea is a 1.6 ohm coil at 15 watts a normal build or any recommendations for the kayfun v4 for watts and ohms thanks again
Hey everyone,
I've been vaping for about two years now, and have decided to start dripping. For the last few weeks, I have been dripping on an IGO-W, 26G Kanthal single coil (7 wrap micro coil reading at 0.8ohms) on my iStick 30w.
I just recently purchased a new battery that should arrive today, and was wondering if anyone had advice/tips on producing some fat clouds! Dual Coils? Different coil builds? Number of wraps? Watts to vape at? I think you get the picture lol.
The items I will be using are as follows:
-SMOK XPRO M80 Plus
-IGO-W
-26 Gauge Kanthal Wire
-Japanese Organic Cotton
- 80vg/20pg Juices
All input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
-Tyler
Was wondering about everyone who makes their own coils, what is your favorite builds? Do you stick to single, dual, triple coils? (or higher) would love to see pics if possible Heres mine, a bit blurry
