I started vaping before i turned 18, but i am going to use my birthday as my anniversary. In April i will be a one year old again. I still smoke the occasional cigarette, but that is only when i drink, so not too often.
Today is the 8th anniversary of the day I had my last cigarette and started vaping. Saved my life! Thank you to the supportive people on this forum and everyone who keeps it going.
Today, marks 1 year smoke free thanks to vaping. I could not have done it otherwise. And of course the fine people on ECF had a lot to do with it also.
Happy birthday to me
Happy birthday to me
Happy one year vaporversary to Meeeeeeeee,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!
Thank you to the entire ECIG Forum community in helping me GET OFF THE STINKERS for one year today.
The quality of my life, my health and my TEETH have all improved drastically. I don't smell anymore except for the occasional vanilla banana
I could not have done this without all of you and your help, support and advice.
Thanks again and here is to another year!
I joined ECF back in August of 2017. I was sixty-five years old and had been smoking 25-30 cigarettes a day for 40+ years. I began vaping at the same time win the hope I could at least cut down. I dual used for months, continually cutting back on cigarettes. I smoked my last cigarette on May 11, 2018 - I am coming up on my three year anniversary. When I began, I vaped 24mg nicotine. Now I alternate between 3mg and zero nic.
Given how incredibly positive vaping has been for me, I am in shock at recent events. I was down to two working mods. I have ordered four mods, some tanks and a bunch of coils. I am still able to buy some eliquids where I live - but many of my favorites from Halo have been discontinued. I still have some outstanding hardware orders that I hope get delivered.
The treatment of vaping in the media has been a one sided disgrace, and propaganda works. Over the years when I have mentioned to people that I quit by vaping, they respond, ‘so you quit smoking by picking up a habit that is even more dangerous’.
I am set for at least a year. Fortunately I have kicked my addiction to nicotine - I recently vaped zero nic for a month. If I was just starting out, it would truly be panic time, and I would go back to cigarettes for sure. I suspect that many will do just that. Happy I started when I did.
Congratulations FastTech!
FastTech 8 Years Anniversary Giveaway
Well, I figured this would be the place to go to express my vaping pride as of right now. I just realize that I am becoming a financially responsible and informed vaper (LOL).
After years of using a popular company that sells 808 cig-a-like's and 808 mod cigar-type batteries, I have graduated to the fine world of 510 products. I have nothing bad to say about the company I used to primarily use. Their products and juices are what made me definitively kick the alternative to vaping and for that I will be forever grateful for them. I guess it's like loving your high school but realizing how cool college is!
But after a while you start noticing how expensive of a habit/hobby vaping could be. Cartomizers costing $7+ and 12-13$ juices is not exactly an economical way to vape. Plus, from what I have seen the majority of the e-cig market has 510 threaded products.
So I dipped my toe into the 510 world by buying an iStick mini. I tried the ViVi Novas and quite honestly thought they sucked. I went ahead and got the Aspire Nautilus and anyone who has tried this combo knows what a pleasant experience it continues to be. Then I went ahead and order a Mini Nautilus and a 30W iStick to have that versatility and the possibility of sub obm vaping in the future.
So I tried a new e-liquid supplier in Mt. Baker. For the most part, I am a menthol guy and found their "Extreme Ice" to be unbelievable (like winterfresh gum) and their regular menthol flavor to be awesome. No to mention how great their prices are for me. I still have a few other samples left to try but so far their spin on Jolly Ranchers is a nice occasional "change of taste" vape!
Anyway, I just ordered a bunch of replacement coils for the Nautilus for really cheap and two more Mini tanks so I can change flavors more often without having to go through the whole tank. I just realized how a little more money up front really does mean more savings in the long run. Not to mention-- a far more rewarding vaping experience.
The moral of the story is that my vaping morale is extremely high. I am grateful for slowly but surely figuring this all out. I'm getting a hold of how to do this economically and learning about all of the wonderful products the vaping market has to offer.
I'm coming up on my one year anniversary (if not, just passed it) of no analogs. I figured I'd share my thoughts with all of you wonderful people here since I don't really have anyone else to chat with this about!
Cheers!
So today I bought a pack of cigarettes . I havent smoked in a long time and i feel like vaping has turned me into a complete nicotine addict and this is why I bough the pack , I wanted to test myself since I know how much I use to smoke . Ever since I started vaping I have been increasing strenght and quantity of juice per day and I vape a lot , some days , I would vape between 10 - 15 ML of 6mg juice and absorb another ML though my skin while building . I smoked my first cigarette in almost a year and I finished it and guess what after that I wanted another one but I didnt take it .
Well before I started vaping I was smoking one cig every 2-3 hours and now I want way more . I am honestly considering quiting vaping and smoking all together , maybe 1 cig day , that would be it . Or maybe I should switch to non rebuiuldable tanks and stop making my own juice because I honestly feel like DYI and rebuildables is what made me vape more , trying different build on different attomizers , trying my new DYI e-liquids , trying other e-liquids that I bought , trying this , trying that , and at the end of the day 20ML of juice gone .
What would you recommend me ?
This past week marks 5 years since I smoked a cigarette. It honestly doesn't seem that long, it seems like yesterday I was huddled out in the cold at work with the smokers. I had been a smoker for 28 years.
Unlike many I see posting here, I cannot say vaping helped me quit. I quit cold turkey, and never tried an ecig until about a year after I quit smoking. At that point I was still doing well as a non-smoker, I didn't physically crave smoking, but I missed the 28 year habit of lighting up, having something to fiddle with, and just the relaxing feeling of the inhale/exhale. I had been eating a lot more to make up for the void, and having been underweight all my life I started packing on pounds (too many!). I sorely needed a non-food substitute for the comfort I was missing, but wasn't about to go back to smoking.
I tried a junky convenience store ecig after that first year, and thought "if this was what they were like than forget it". I continued on not smoking, but still missing the habit. About two years after that I began seeing the new advanced products coming out, and did a lot of research. I bought my first starter kit in 2013, and slowly advanced up to bigger and better gear.
People ask why would start vaping after I had already kicked the cigarette habit, and I say, "Why not?". Other than nicotine I'm not getting any of the negative things I got with cigarettes. And in my opinion, there's really nothing wrong with a little nicotine. Nicotine is not what was killing me, it was the smoke that was delivering the nicotine that was killing me.
So I'm 5 years smoke free, I no longer hack in the mornings, my chest never hurts and my clothes, car and hair don't stink anymore.
I have no intentions on giving up vaping, as it has no negative impact on my life, and i enjoy it, so why stop?
I have since gotten my son, my step-son, and his wife to all trade vaping for smoking, so bonus points for saving all their lives too!
I just found out my 17 year old cousin started vaping a few months back and he was afraid to tell me, and his mother! To be honest, part of me is relieved!
a little background: I come from an entire family of smokers, aunts, uncles, cousins, all of us smoke with the exception of maybe 5 (out of 50+ people). Most of us starting at around the age of 13-15, it just seems like the thing to do in our clan I guess. Secretly I worry about my younger cousins picking up on our bad habits, just as I did. Seeing your entire family smoke and being around it all the time, its kind of hard to imagine NOT ending up a smoker yourself.
any who, when he told he was vaping, and that he things cigarette smoke is disgusting... I smiled inside soo much. there is hope for us yet!
Congratulations and Happy Fifth Anniversary, My Dearest Tibs!
What an accomplishment! Enjoy your big day and take a stroll down memory lane.
I can't believe that it's been five years since we met in the Burning Cartomizers thread... Seems like yesterday. Remember the first non-burning cartomizer that Lorikay discovered? I bought a box of them from Drew...
Yup. Greencig. It was hairy, though.
And then came the happy years of PVT and celebrating ECF veterans. That was fun!
And the co-ops you ran to help fellow ECF members get vaping gear for less money--so much hard work! Was this your first co-op?
