New Mod Wraps Today!

Just got my wraps for my three favorite mods in vapemail from Vapor Skins, and I was very impressed with the exact fit, quality, fit and finish of all three. I got a Carbon Fiber for my IPV Mini 70W, an Exotic Wood for the Sigelei 150, and a Textured Wood for the VS rDNA 40. I've attached a pic (pease ignore the messy Tugboat). We'll see how they hold up, but for now I'm a happy customer!

J-wraps Or Vapor Skinz Vs The Cheaper Ebay Wraps ... Big Difference In Quality?

I have an iPV Mini that the finish is starting to look a little bad in certain areas on the mod.

I am going to cover it with a vinyl wrap, but can't decide what to buy.

Pricewise, the J-Wrap and Vapor Skinz are at least double the price or more than the wraps you can buy off of Ebay from companies such as "MightySkinsDecals1"

Are these Ebay wraps in the $7.00 - $8.00 price range of much poorer quality than the expensive J-Wraps, Vapor Skinz, etc?

Thanks,

Atomizer Gets Hot

Hi guys,

Is it really normal for an atomizer to get hot especially when using dual coils?
I just created a dual coil a couple of minutes ago using 24 gauge kanthal wire, 10 wraps each on a 2.4mm precision screw driver. My meter shows that the resistance is at 0.4 ohms, being curious and all since this is the first time that I made a dual coil, i decided to test it out.
Got some good flavor and vapor, though the vapor is warmer than I would want it to be ( I prefer cold vapor)

After taking a couple of 5 secs drag, I notice that my atomizer became hot, not warm, but hot. Is this something that I should be concerned about? I am doing something wrong or have I done something wrong when creating my coils?
Please help.

Here are some pictures of my device and atomizer. ( Philbox wood mod running on 2 pcs of AWT 18650 2600mah battery, my atty is Haze by vapehead origins)

Block Of Wood + Drill = Vape-station (updated)

So I picked up a 'spade bit' set for my drill and a block of wood at a home depot, went to town and made a little vape station:

In case anyone is interested here's what I used:

Spade bit set 1.5 inch sq. block of wood (pine?) (they cut a yard into three pieces) random piece of what I'm calling 'molding' to beautify the thing a touch A drill Just line up the spade bits with your devices to see which bits to use. Roughly measure how deep you will need to go into the wood so as not to go through the other side. Spade bits have a long pointy tip that protrudes beyond the cylinder they create, so using a different bit set would probably be ideal, this is a cheap/easy way to do it. With this setup you will have little indents in the center of each hole, but it doesn't bother me.

I still need to sand it, glue on the 'molding', and stain it. Should look nice after. Also, for the eleaf istick (50W) on the right, I had to drill 3 times with the same bit. The hole isn't perfect but some sanding should help. Mark your wood with pencil before drilling (measure twice cut once!), and/or do what I did and get 3 pieces in case you make a mistake (or want to expand later!).

Of course you could buy something like this, but this way you can have it be custom to whatever devices you happen to own. Cheap, efficient, space saving, easy to do (seriously, took me like 5 min to measure and 15 min to drill the holes).

Here's the spade bit set:

It rolls up nicely.

Here's the 'molding' with one of the un-drilled blocks:

I'll also note I have no experience doing anything like this, just kinda had a thought at the hardware store = )

Update

I sanded, stained, and poly-ed. It's not perfect but I'm happy:

Steam Engine Question

When calculating builds on Steam Engine for parallel builds, is the wrap count the total of wraps counting each strand, or total wraps for the unit of strands?

Example: I want build X using 2 parallel strands of 28g Kanthal, and for my given resistance, SE says use 14 wraps. Is that 7 wraps with parallel wires, or 14 wraps counting the parallel wires as a single wire?

Thanks in advance, guys. I'm trying to experiment with some creative builds and I want to waste as little wire as I can on missed resistance.

Stabwood Mods - A Few Questions

I hope I am posting this in the correct place.

Up til this year I have run mainly utilitarian stuff and it’s served me well, I have to say. I have however been looking at some of the rather beautiful stabwood mods folk on here have, and am considering one, especially now I have found a custom maker up by Loch Fyne near to my other house in the West of Scotland.

I have a few questions which I hope members can help with.

Do you use them when you are out and about as daily drivers, or do they need special care so you only use them at home?

I had a hand made wooden squonk mod a few years ago and the wood didn’t stand up well to leaks or coming into contact with e liquid which eventually jammed up the fire button. As stab wood is made using a resin - is it impervious to this?

Is stabwood prone to cracking over time?
And finally with reference to the Pumper squonk mod - the bottle and pump system is proprietary so is it long lasting and does it have any common faults?

Many thanks in advance for any information you can offer.

I Can't Stop!

This is bad, and what's worse is I know it's bad but I can't seem to stop. I keep buying mods and tanks and juice and accessories. I've been vaping for almost a year now and for the most part I was happy with my setup (once i got past the cheap ego battery setup I had). I was rockin an MVP 2.0 and a nautilus tank. Loved every second of it. But recently the MVP threads got messed up so no tank would connect to it. So I decided to upgrade my setup and get a Sigelei 150w. Now THIS thing is amazing.

You would think since I was happy with my setup that would be enough. NOPE! I ordered an RDA (Mad Hatter) to go with the sigelei because the nautilus just wasn't fully utilizing the mod. I ordered wire, wick, ohm meter, the whole kit and kaboodle. But I also ordered an MVP 3.0 Pro for the times the sigelei batteries were dead or I just needed a smaller device. Got the MVP in today and it's amazing. I definitely love Innokin products.

That's it though, right? NOPE! I haven't even recieved my RDA yet and I was browsing the interwebs looking at forums and reviews and came across the Kanger Subtank Mini. Looks awesome. So I ordered it. But not by itself, oh no no no, I saw a kit with a Kanger Subox Mini and Subtank Mini starter kit. So I ordered it. Oh god will the impulse buying ever stop!?

Let's not get into my juice collection. I have more bottles than I know what to do with. Originally it was a handful of bottles that could sit on my desk, now I've had to rearrange my dresser so the multitude of bottles can sit up there. I have so many flavors that I love that I keep switching them around and it's driving me crazy. And everytime I see one of you post about your new favorite all day vape flavor I look into it, think it sounds amazing, and end up buying more.

Aww screw it, I love vaping. I'm sure i'll buy something else real soon. Speaking of which...I could use a new drip tip to go with my new tanks. Gotta go.

(thanks for reading my rant)

Sigelei 50w And Subtank Mini - Threading Issue?

All of the sudden I wake up today and notice my 510 threading on my sigelei 50w box mod is jacked up. I cleaned the threads on my subtank mini and on my sigelei mod. I then tried screwing it onto my mod and now no matter what I try , there's a gap between the top of the mod and the bottom of the subtank (it's not screwing down all the way and has about a 3mm gap, hence now it won't fire...

I screwed my subtank onto my ileaf 30w and screws in flawlessly, so it's the sigelei threads ...

but I did pay a lot for my sigelei and prefer its hits , I dunno, I usually Vape about 16W on my sigelei And not sure how that translates over to what wattage I should run the eleaf at ?

Also, I just noticed that my spare RDAs will still screw onto my sigelei well..I'm so confused what's up !!!!

Q: Steam Engine - # Wraps Indicator Bar?

So what does the # of wraps indicator bar in steam engine signify. It seems that the more wraps that are calculated, the longer the indicator becomes and will, at some point, turn from green to yellow (but I've never seen it turn red).

What is it signifying? Is it just trying to tell you, "Hey dude, that coil is way too long for any atomizer!", or is it saying something else. The site doesn't mention it.
