I was just wondering if anyone has had any luck clear coating their brass and copper mods with spar urethane.
I was going to try a polyurethane clear coat but I've seen too many mods that would still patina beneath the clear coat. I don't want that happening to any of my mods. Today I picked up a can of Miniwax Helmsman Spar Urethane and so far I have only coated the top cap and the exterior of the firing button on my 4Nine mod. I figured I would test it on this mod first since it's my least liked mod. It's still to soon to tell if it's going to patina beneath the coating.
If anyone has experience on clear coating mods pls let me know what products work the best.
With a nearly full scale banishment on electronic devices being a real possibility, I'm looking into stocking up to sustain myself for at least a while. I have a few questions and I'm sure others so as well and thought a thread on the subject could prove useful.
First, nicotine. What is the better, longest lasting base to get with nicotine VG or PG ? And I assume freezing is the optimal preservation method?
Secondly, equipment. Obviously full mechanical mods are the best bet for long term, heavy duty use... But what is the best material between stainless steel, copper, brass, etc (for a combination of longevity and low maintenance)? What is the best material for the contacts?
What about regulated mods? I would love to own a parallel 18650 mod that could stand the test of time. Are there any that have a very simple design on the inside that could be easily fixed (wires coming loose or chip needing replaced etc)?
Then, finally, atomizers. Is the best course of action just to find your favorite and buy a high quantity or are there RTAs and RBAs out there that are built to last and are constructed with quality materials that could last years with good care?
Thanks for anyone's advice/experience in advanced, and feel free to use this thread to ask related questions yourself.
I really like the look of the copper mod (variable wattage mod) and saw the KSD Kmax at the reasonable price, but saw bad review with PBusardo. Does anyone know any other variable wattage mod that is copper/bronze/brass?
Thanks.
I don't know where my common sense went, but I had two mods charging on the same outlet today. I smelled something burning and the plug to one of the mods was smoking, turned black and melted. I was using an extension cord. I'm happy that both mods seem fine, but mostly happy I was here in the same room and avoided a possible disaster.
Just a little reminder for you guys.
I still cannot find it; as all my mods stop firing. Right now I'm using my first mod.The K100. It outperformed all of my other mods that I had before they all took a poop on me. Its crazy. Could it be the spring, that makes it so good? I have no idea. I tried the tugboat mod, it failed me. It stopped firing after a few days. And that thing hit like a champ. But this k100, seems to be knocking me out. Like taking a uppercut from Chuck Liddell. I just want to know if there's a magnetic k100 type mod, or should I just stick with this? ( I hate the way it looks BTW. Cause all I have is black rdas. )
Hi. I have a question that I'd love some feedback on, but it's not really conducive to googling. I started a trial run years ago with Blu, Vuse, and NJoy refillables. I participated in market research on the Juul cartridges, and switched to a refillable AIO unit (Aspire Breeze) a couple of years ago. I just finally made the plunge into box kits with a Smok Mag Grip.
Problem is, my experience so far is a bad one. I'm getting an almost overwhelming taste of the vape juice, which I initially thought might be due to higher wattage than I'm used to. I *seem* to be getting juice in the mouth though (strangely, it's somewhat tough to tell) - not hot pops of it, it just seems to be coating my tongue (and making me feel sick). I'm using 70/30 PG/VG, btw.
Does anyone else have experience with this happening, or with having a totally different experience between smaller wattage AIOs and more customizable setups?
I've got a couple of these little mods and both have the same problem. They continue to fire after the button is released. When it happens the display changes to the power on/off and keeps firing until the unit restarts (presumably after the 15 second cut off?). I can only think that the mod is registering 3 presses when I fire which triggers the screen change, and there is a bug which stops the release of the fire button registering. Anyone experienced this? Any fix? I'm surprised it's happening with two units so it must be happening to someone else!
I paid $250 bux for a full set up a while back, and the little inner copper firing pin contact broke, right where the thread screw into the bottom button. I got the broken piece out of the button threads, but I need a new copper contact pin. I went to the store and they said they don't have it, and they cant contact the manufacturer.
I am so irritated at the customer service there. I have spent well over a couple grand on crap from them over the years and they basically told me "oh well, that sucks, buy a new one"
Im hoping that someone on here can either help point me in the right direction of someone to talk to that makes the Turtleship V3 Mod, or someone that might have a replacement part. It cant be more than a couple bucks for the little piece. I would of expected them to contact the manufacturer and just give me the replacement pin for free.
Once I have the money I am going to buy something like a hexohm or similar 100w box mod, but until then, I need to fix this, and plus I want to have it as a back up for if my boxmod goes out and needs to be fixed. Given that, I have a seperate question on who you guys think has the best customer service and warranty for box mods? What are the "flagship" devices on the market with all the bells and whistles and most reliable / durable build design?
Thanks a lot for any help you guys can offer as far as being able to get my mech mod fixed. Id have to just throw 200 bux in the trash.
Help! :/

I have been out of the game for a while and have just been using old mods/RTA's.
I am looking for suggestions on some of the best up to date mods as well as some of the best RTA that go with the mods.
Here is a little info...I usually vape at around 30-35 watts...
For the mod, I am looking for one that takes a single 1865 battery, is small in size, and is lightweight.
For the RTA, I am looking for a single coil DL tank....one that can hold at least 5ml of juice, can go with the mod suggested, and provides great flavor.
Can you guys please give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot
So I've been looking for some sexy looking mods for awhile I know of quite a few but I'd like to hear the community's opinion, so speak out, which mod do you think looks the best?
