so i got this used iclear 30s from a friend for like 5 bucks he didnt want it anymore, and i filled it up and let it sit to soak the coils and now that i tarted using it, its barely giving any vapor, takes like 3 seconds to even heat up, and heres the weird part, i am vaping it at 20 watts with no burnt taste ... im not very knowledgable about tanks but im pretty sure at 20 watts that .... should be burning the hell out of my throat? How come it takes so long to heat up, gives no vapor, and im able to vape a t 20 watts??? is their any way to do something to fix it without buying a new coil?
Hello Been vaping about 2 years now
My setups are Vaporshark Rdna 30 Istick 30 watt and a provari 2.5 and a IPv mini v2 30 watt
So like many others I have been juggling with wattage I currently Use A couple of kanger subtank minis using the RBA and a kayfun v4 I've been all over the place building ohms but have settled on 1.2 - 1.4 ohms BTW I'm not into sub ohms
So after many months of different ohms and watts with the help of steam engine I have found I like my vape at a heat flux of around 175 so to get to this and I can't believe how simple it was I just take the ohms I am using such as 1.2 @ 12 watts = 178 heat flux 1.3 @ 13 watts = 178 heat flux and so on I can't believe it became that simple
So I suppose all it takes is to find what heat flux you enjoy and adjust from there
I never bought that what I have read thru the last 2 years that 14 watts is 14 watts no matter what ohms you use it seems to me there had to be more factors involved
Just my thoughts

hi all
I have a mvp 3 and I use iclear 30 tanks 1.9 to 2.1 ohms
im vapeing at 12 watts 5.1 volts and have been for a few weeks now
everything was fine until today right now in fact hence the reason for this question
I refilled my tank and screwed it back on my mvp when I pressed the button to vape
it reads the ohms and volts and wattage the wattage was as normal 12 watts
the volts were 7.1 and the ohms were 6.0 totally unvapable and burnt tasting
(I should also point out that the volts and watts are locked in on the mvp)
I have also tried the tanks on other devices and still the same issue
which leads me to believe its the tanks at fault and not the device
I have been vapeing long enough to understand the reasons for burnt taste
and the causes and solutions to rectify it but I have never had this happen before
I tried other tanks and the same has happened except for one which works fine
does anyone have any idea whats going on
thanks
steve
For the past 11 months I've been using a combination of kanger pro tanks and then more recently nautilus tanks with their respectful "throw away" atomizer heads. With these tanks I've been using either the itazte vv 3.0 or itazte VTR while keeping the vaping around 8-10 watts.
I've since purchased an Eleaf Lemo and have been making my own single coils in the same 1.8-2.5 range as the protank and nautilus coils.
Should I be able to and get successful results by cranking up the heat to let's say 12-15 watts now that I'm rebuilding the coils with cotton? Have the stock coils been holding me back in terms of cranking the heat? Maybe because they don't wick as well self-built coils?
My first .5 OCC coil only lasted 3 days . I put my device up to 25 watts and it totally fried it. A terrible burnt hit. I backed it back down to 20 watts and it was fine for a little while, but then another bad burnt hit. Down to 15 watts and I literally sucked hot particles in my mouth when taking a hit. ...? The cotton and/or coils are literally breaking apart? That's totally gross and I can only imagine, not that safe.
My second .5 OCC, I never put my device above 17 watts, keeping it at 15 watts for the most part. Within 4 days, same thing ... total burnt hit one day, sucking up hot particles the next?
What's going on? I thought I was supposed to be able to hit a .5 coil up to 30 watts ... Is sucking up hot particles from the coil normal? Should I just keep it at 12 to 15 watts and that's it, taking 1 to 2 second drags and that's it? Is it just a string of bad coils?
Thanks
EDIT: Thought I should mention that the juice I used for both coils was 50/50 watermelon. I hear it's better to use higher VG liquids with sub ohm tanks. But can that be part of the reason why the coils are being fried so quickly?
Just curious what wattage you guys are comfortable with. I just got my Itaste mvp3.0. I have the Kanger Subtank Nano with a .5 ohm occ. The mvp recommends 25-30 watts for that. But the coil itself says 15-30 watts. Kind of confusing. Anyway I keep mine between 15-20 watts. Anything more heats the tank up too much, like I can feel the heat on my lip.
I just picked up a Kanger Genitank Mega also, haven't tried it yet but it came with 1.8 coils, so I'll probably start at about 6-7 watts and go from there.
I love this thing, so far very happy with my purchase, hopefully it holds up for a long time. I guess just want to see if I'm doing everything safely.
I'm new to vaping. I've went through 3 coils barely using them.
My issue is: When I first install the new coil and add the liquid, it produces vaporizes just fine. It seems like when I set it down for an hour or so, and go back, it still produces good vapor. But after a bit, if I set it down after vaping, and go back, it produced no vapor no matter how much I puff it. It seems like if I unscrew the part where the coil is, and run it under water, and then let it dry, and replace it, then add e juice, it'll start producing vapor again. But it seems like as soon as I set it down for a bit, and pick it back up, there's no vapor and I wash it out again, etc then it works, but eventually just stops producing vapor altogether u til I replace the coil.
What's going on here? am I doing something wrong? Do I need to adjust the coil some how? I've bought brand new coils and barely use them and this happens. Is the coil just getting gummed up? The coils don't make vapor after so long, and the usage doesn't even equate to a full day, maybe an hour or so.
I'm using a Subtank Nano on the KBOX. Should be absolutely no problems.
But my coils (both the 0.5 and 1.0) are tasting awful. I prime them great, I make sure everythings good and secure, and I'm using a 75%-ish VG juice.
But I can't go above 20 watts with two new packs of coils I have, and especially on the 1.0 coils, that's ridiculous. I'll get a vaporized rubber taste that tastes like the worst clearomizer coil I've ever come across.
Dry cotton should just have sort of a cottony, almost doggy or smokey taste. But this is a pure rubbery flavor. Are the gromets going to crap? These things should be built for Sub-Ohm Vaping!
I have no clue what's wrong but I can't use this thing anymore.
I'm also getting more juice in my mouth than I would if I drank it. These coils have started to spit and spew like nothing I've seen. I've used these coils for months and could always go up to 30 watts, no issues!
I've had the same exact set up for about a year and a half now. Itaste VTR + Aerotank with 1.5 ohm coils, and i vape at 9.0 watts. I tend to only vape one specific brand/flavor, I'm one of those weird people that just like one thing and stick with it. Up until July last year, i used a local vape shop's liquid. I liked it and it was fantastic. I'm a little fuzzy on their ratio, but I believe it was 70/30 pg/vg. Their liquid would never pool under the coil and my coils would last for over 5 weeks at a time. Then i moved. The cost of their liquid plus shipping was just too high, i was already paying 22 bucks for a 30 ml plus shipping on top of it was just killing my wallet. I found a couple other sources of liquid, one on the net being Apollo ecigs, and the other being local B&M selling VGOD liquid. Both of those i believe are 70/30 vg/pg.
Now since the switch to either of those 2 liquids, my coils are only lasting 5 days tops, and at nearly 2 dollars a pop, its killing my wallet even more than with the liquid i was having shipped here from that local store in FL. What is going on? Is that ratio of VG/PG killing my coils? Its not so much that the coils are burning out, but i just keep having to take a harder and harder draw as the days go on. When its a fresh coil, i get tons of flavor and good vapor, but towards day 4-5, flavor minimizes and vapor decreases. I've soaked them in distilled water and let them dry out, but even that the flavor/vapor tends to peter out after a day or so.
Thoughts?
I'm almost two years into vaping and it has been great.
I've been using a VW Ehuge 35 watt 26650 mod with a Kanger Subtank. Its huge and heavy but the battery lasts a long time. Also been using an Innokin Coolfire 2 with a Gladius tank.
Figured it was time to upgrade. Been watching several review videos to see whats out there. A lot of new sub ohm tanks and they all seem pretty good.
I've never had a box mod and figured it was time. Bought a Cloupor T6 recently to put my Subtank on. The T6 is supposed to be a 100 watt device. The Kanger coil only goes to 30 watts so no big deal there.
I really like the T6. Pretty small for a 26650 mod. Surface is slippery though, need to get a wrap for it. Butons are nice any clicky. The battery cover has magnets which is nice, no screw driver needed. Feels solid and the internals are clean. Its thick and the 25mm Subtank fits nicely on it.
Recently after watching some videos, I came across a new kinda unknown Sub Ohm Clearo. Its the Freemax Starre Sub Ohm. .5ohm or .25ohm coils. Mine came with the .5ohm. The .5ohm is rated 20-60 watts and the .25ohm is rated 20-100 watts. Reviewers were all impressed with the vapor and taste of this device. So I ordered one.
Wow, OMG, this Freemax Starre rocks. Blows away my Kanger Sub Tank in vapor production and flavor. Holds 5ml and the air holes are huge. Surgical Stainless Steel and Surgical Cotton used in the coil. Amazing.
After some more research, I discovered the Cloupor T6 really doesn't put out 100 watts. Well, that makes sense as its only a single battery device.
So went to the local vape shop today and bought a Sigelei 150 watt to put the Freemax Starre on. Will order some .25ohm coils soon.
Lovin the Sigelei so far. Magnets on battery cover, comes with a silicone gel case, nice clicky buttons, takes 2 18650. Its taller and wider than the T6 but not as thick. One thing it lacks that the T6 has is a USB charging port.
The Freemax Starre fits perfectly on it. The Kanger Sub Tank is wider than the Sigelei but fits perfect on the T6.
Really enjoying both of these box mods.

Hello, I have been vaping for years, at 1.8 nic strength. I have some questions.
First of all I think I've made a problem by vaping on (all kangertech devices and coils), at .5 ohms, but I only vape at 20-24 watts. Is this wrong? Anything higher is way too hot, and I just don't enjoy it. I've bought a smok mag and other devices that wont fire under anything 50 watts and it was way too strong so I never use it.
Also, over the past 6 months I've developed some mouth sores I'm pretty sure it is
Tobacco Stomatitis
I know this is from vaping or smoking, the heat I guess is causing this. I've told my dr. about this he never really looked (I was in for something different than this), he replied try to vape point it downwards towards my tongue and I have been doing this for months, but to no avail with the mouth sores going away.
I can't quick vaping. I tried for a few days and I smoked more cigarettes than I ever did. It was actually hotter I noticed. I still smoke cigarettes when I drive, just a weird habit and at work on breaks. I vape all day at work when my boss isn't around.
I'm going to stick to just the unflavored e juice from now on. I'm also cutting the strength back. I also tried cutting it before with 0% percent e juice and to no avail my mouth sores are still there.
Sorry for the diatribe but I just have a few questions.
Does smoking at 22 watts and sometimes below with sub ohm coils, is this bad? I've been doing it for years now. The problem is I bought a ton and I find it hard to find coils now over 1 ohm. It seems all they sell not days is .5 coils. And I've tried nickel and and they just burn in a day, even with the settings they are supposed to be at, so I'm really at a loss as to what to do.
Also has anyone else experienced the tobacco stomatitis as I have?
