I just realized that as of a few days ago I have been haunting these halls for half a decade. WOW.
I would like to thank all of the members here for the advise, knowledge, and laughs.
I would also like to encourage all of the new members to explore this forum thoroughly and spread the word to those who have not benefited from the amazing people here.
Thank you all.
See ya around.
I've been a wondering how much time some members spend on this forum and why? and do you think you're hooked?
Also, some (relatively) new members have already achieved over a 1,000 posts in a few weeks!!!!!!!!!
I figure it is a terrific place to grow your knowledge and (at the same time) help new members/vapors by answering their questions; but is there an issue here regarding 'status' or else something more elusive.......
My family think I spend too much time on it but my average posts are only around 2 posts a day, granted, mostly accumulated in the last few months.
What's your take on it?
If you told me a year ago that I would be able to quit smoking after 44 years of inhaling a pack and a half a day I would have called you crazy. After trying everything from patches and gum to hypnotism and acupuncture to Zyban and Chantix I had resigned myself to the fact that I would be a smoker to the end.
Then my sister in law showed me her ecig and i gave it a try. Bought my own starter kit the next day and haven't smoked since. I just want to thank ECF members for their support and patience as I asked a million noob questions. I could never have given up cigarettes without the amazing people here.
For some reason I can not post a new thread in the new members forum. It always says insufficient privileges. I can post a new threat anywhere else and respond to threads there. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Like most of us out here, we're anxiously awaiting the 15,000,000th post. However, I've been keeping an eye on the number of members on ECF.
I'm wondering if we'll hit 223,000 members before we hit 15,000,000 posts....
We're under 13,000 posts to go and only 129 members to go....
Place your bets
Check out the PIF forum!
Many members have accumulated vaping gear over time and generously trade or donate their outgrown stuff. Bookmark the Pif forum. Check it often. Then, when your time comes - Pay it Forward.
There are PIF forums for the UK and Canada, as well.
When I was new I found navigating this forum overwhelming. I thought it might help some of the new folks to point out a good place for them to go.
Happy Vaping!
I began my journey in 2014 after a severe DAI
When my neurologist was pleased to see my vape back then and encouraged the switch then boom, all systems go
In the time I’ve spent recovering, ECF and all of its members have contributed and I appreciate it.
While I was doing my daily cognitive exercises, going to rehab and various doctor appointments ECF was there
The information I picked up to keep safe or pass the time, welcome people or chat with familiar members while having a good read through all that has been invaluable to me
some guy here even fixed my computer!
Thanks a lot ECF members. Good people
edit; I instantly need a mod to move this to the social. My memory has always been terrible
Hi Vapers,
As some of you know I have started a consumer campaign group called We Vape to spread the word about the importance of vaping in the UK. I am a Vaper and Snus user myself and the aim is to make sure vapers get heard during the upcoming consultation on vaping. It would be great to have your support and i've designed a T Shirt and had them printed. So I am going to give away some to 10 lucky people that sign up to We Vape on the get involved page on the website, which I am not allowed to link to but if you search google for you will find it.
Signing up is really important so I can keep people informed about what is happening and how they can help out by responding to consultations and contacting their MP. It will also give me more impact with the media with more members so I can get our voice heard.
Here is the T shirt:
So today I would like to thank the following people who not only started me on this journey, but who have supported me through what I feel was 1 of the best things that could have happened to me:
1. Gary Greener - You gave me my 1st set up for free an egoCtwist battery & Kanger Pro tank
2. Dylan Hill - You have been in my corner from Day 1- through up grades & bringing me to the BEST B&M to get juices & knowledge & for Building me Coils bc to be honest I'm just to lazy to build them lol
3. Maja Flava Vape Den 44 East Scott Street Riverside NJ - You guys have been AMAZING!!! Between all the time you've spent with me explaining vaping, mods, juices, coils, coil building, support, & Even more I can't Thank You Enough!! The vape community & people I've now become friends with from your store is incredible & with out you I wouldn't have been able to stay off the cigarettes.
4. ECF Forum - Thanks for having this forum!! The support, knowledge, & experience of the forum is so much more then I could have imagined.
THANK YOU ECF FORUM COMMUNITY TO EACH & EVERYONE OF YOU GUYS ON HERE HAS HELPED AS WELL!!
HERE'S TO MANY MORE YEARS OFF THOSE BUTTS & CLOUD CHASING DREAMS!!
THANK YOU ALL!!
I was just in the "New Members Forum" and come to realize how much I don't know about vaping. Good God, some of these "newbies" are way more advanced than I am. When I joined ECF just a few months ago, folks were still posting questions about EGOs and cig alikes. Now there asking about coil builds and mods, and concerned about blowing clouds. Guess I'm just one of the Old folks on the front porch....
2 short years ago today I finished off my last stinkie (a PAD on average for many, many days----more than I care to remember) and switched to full-time vaping. At the time, I was vaping some high-nic 'Vivid Vanilla' on a Blu-Cig. (Actually, it was probably a few days earlier that I realized that the Vivid Vanilla was absolutely DELISH, I KNEW at that point that I could finally quit, had no desire for a stinkie at all after some heavy vaping, and that I was SURE I was gonna dump the cigarettes once and for all, but I went a few days of dual-use to just 'ease' myself into it a bit.)
Things have changed much since then: I can run again, I can work out again, and life has improved dramatically overall. Life is DAMN GOOD! It's amazing how life can change......
Most importantly, I absolutely owe a deep debt of gratitude to all of the ECF community here, which I found in a matter of days after quitting, for unselfishly sharing their knowledge and experiences with all the terrific products, gadgets, gizmos, and juices that I continue to take in at every opportunity. I can't even begin to thank you all, explain how easy (and FUN) you have made it, or explain how much you have helped along the way. This place is simply a FANTASTIC wealth of knowledge and experience!
Here's my stats since then:
2 years (730 days)
14,600 cigarettes not smoked (that's a load of tar and chemicals......)
$5,475 not spent on cigarettes (that's conservative, better than mere pocket change, and allows for junk snacks that I DON"T buy EITHER anymore when picking up smokes at the convenience store.....)
Thanks to you all !!!!.........................
