All Credible Vaping Research

Herro ECF!

I am writing a 20 page research paper for a class at my school. I was hoping you guys might be able to help me out with finding credible sources/studies with references either for or against (if there is anything credible against it) Vaping. Health studies, behavioral studies, whatever you have. I think I've heard things about Dr. F? Obviously, my argument will be for Vaping but I need both sides as a requirement for the paper. I'm not asking you to do research for me, but if you have good studies bookmarked for quick access please share! Thanks for any help you all might provide and I will be sure to post the final paper when it's done.

Usa Today: Scientists Want Probe Of Ucsf Tobacco Research (glantz)

Scientists want probe of UCSF tobacco research
One of the country's best-known tobacco researchers is under fire this week after one of his federally funded vaping studies was retracted and other academics are calling for federal review of some of his other influential anti-vaping research.

additional Glantz studies deserving of the most scrutiny include two major publications in 2018: A meta analysis of other vaping studies published in the British journal Lancet Respiratory Medicine and one in the journal Pediatrics about teen vaping and smoking.

The Lancet analysis of several studies was based on a "misleading negative correlation between e-cigarettes and smoking cessation"and used studies that had nothing to do with quitting smoking, Abrams said. This violated the basic tenets of medical research review, he added.

"It has had a massive misleading influence in the field to this day because it is cited as the main reference" to show vaping makes it harder to quit smoking, Abrams said.

The other study concluded the "use of e-cigarettes does not discourage, and may encourage, conventional cigarette use among US adolescents." Rodu, who analyzed the claim, found only 11 of 9,000 teens studied vaped before they started smoking and 80% of the kids who smoked hadn't used tobacco product previously.

Using that data, Abrams said the "effect of vaping is not just diminished, it disappears."

Vaping And Breathalyzers

Hey all. I know this general topic has been discussed before, but I'm really hoping someone can help me find some scientific studies or research on the possibility of a falsely elevated BAC reading on a breathalyzer test after heavy vaping (doesn't really matter if the studies were performed in the United States, U.K. or any other country).

Many of us know with absolute certainty that vaping certain juices can falsely elevate BAC readings. We've purchased our own breathalyzers and tested this at home. Or perhaps we have interlock devices on our vehicles, or we have been ordered by a court of law to submit to regular or random breathalyzer tests using court-issued portable or in-home breathalyzers, etc. And many of us have found that we cannot start our vehicles or have failed the random or scheduled breathalyzer tests after vaping. Those of us who have had one or more of these experiences KNOW that this is a very real (and potentially VERY serious) issue.

What we know holds very little (or zero) weight in a court of law, unless there is some scientific evidence to back up the claim. Due to a legal matter, I am searching desperately for any and all sources of scientific research on this subject.

Your assistance would be incredibly and forever appreciated. Thank you in advance!

A Tribute To Those Who Care

I want to say thank you to some of the ECF members that work to help keep the rest of us vapers here up to date on what is happening in the vaping world.

Thank you for what you do, it means alot. Whether you post studies, articles in the news, or videos, the information you provide has helped to educate and keep me up to date on the state of vaping. I think I'm not the only one that feels this way.

So here's to you, vape on, and thanks for what you do people.

Seen My First Anti Vape Stuff In The Uk

Takes a different angle... it’s the metals which have caused irreparable damage on a woman’s lungs...

in California though

The article goes on to say;

“Professor John Britton, director of the UK Centre for Tobacco & Alcohol Studies and consultant in respiratory medicine at the University of Nottingham, suggested that the conclusions were not all they seemed.

He said there was no evidence of any cobalt particles in the lung samples and that claims made about vaping were wrong.
He added: “There is nothing in this new paper that should change advice to smokers. If you smoke, switch. If you don’t smoke, don’t vape. And just as you wouldn’t buy unlicensed alcoholic drinks, don’t vape cannabis or other bootleg products.”

Where Are All These Links To Reports On Negative Side Effects That The Low-information Public Is Talking About Tonight?

I'm looking at all the news reports just running and jumping with joy about the study that came out about teen vaping use today. I believe this was a catalyst that is going to get the general, non-informed "I'll do whatever you say and where do I check the voting ballot again??" public, right behind strict regulations and/or banning. My, how powerful manipulation is with what was once the minority, but what I'm afraid is now the majority in this country.

What is getting me is that almost ALL the commenters are stating that these are bad, very very bad and just look at "all the reports that are coming out about negative side effects." Where are they seeing reports about scientific study results regarding negative side effects and a link to cancer? Or is this just another case of "those people" that want to tell us all how to live imagining all these studies (one even quoted they cause cancer according to recent studies) in their little pea-sized non-independent thinking brains? I am just amazed at how the mind works with some people. How they can just "want something to be" and so, in their little minds, they have fabricated all these studies showing negative side effects and direct causes to cancer. Really?

I'm sorry if I sound ticked off. I'm just so sick and tired of watching a vast majority of Americans lose their ability to think for themselves and that are so content to be LAZY and just believe whatever it is they hear from the media. You know, you just can't fight stupid.

Formaldehyde In Juice?

It appears that more and more studies are finding formaldehyde being released in ejuice when the voltage is 5 volts or higher. Anything lower than 5 volts and no trace of formaldehyde is being detected. Also, the formaldehyde detected is 15X stronger than that found in a normal cigarette.

Since formaldehyde is a carninogen, what does that mean for us vapers if we are chain vaping on sub-ohm devices and etc everyday? That's a lot of formaldehyde we are taking in each day...

I'm kind of scared at this point for my health...

Will we be seeing formaldehyde-free juice once the FDA steps in? How would that even work?

Vapers Are Fed Up

So, I think there has been a lot of back and forth as to whether vaping is really safer than cigarettes. We as Vapers know that it is safer because we have done the research. But I think in the eyes of smokers and non-smokers, they really don't know if it is safer. Sometimes it even has me questioning whether vaping is healthier. But then my sanity takes over.

This post was sparked by watching a video from Grimm Green just now. The first person I've ever seen to finally say that vaping is 95% safer than smoking. And quit with all the Bull Shi it, listening to anyone who tells you otherwise.

It's a shame that only vapers know it's safer. Everyone else can't be bothered to do the research. They just listen to all the mainstream BS! "Yea, vaping is just as bad, people are dying cause of vaping." "Yea, they're banning vape mail because it's the same thing as tobacco."

Vaping Habits During Lockdown?

Are you UK based? Professor Riccardo Polosa has put together a quick survey on vaping habits during the lockdown period that will help his team form important future research on vaping. It will take you just a moment to complete, and will provide researchers with much needed data as they begin to consider how our society is dealing with the ‘new normal'. If you can spare 2 minutes please take the survey and share! Survey - Cuts Ice

Ex Smokers. Do You Plan To Keep Vaping?

I used to smoke half a pack a day and now I'm quit. I'm vaping 12mg now. I used to do 24. Granted I do sub ohm now. My main question is do you ex smokers ever plan on cutting down to zero nic if you haven't already. Do you ever plan on quitting altogether? Vaping for me has become a hobby and here's second part of my question. Do you consider vaping a successful quit of smoking? Many say not enough studies to say whether it's safe. But I think it's like saying if you smoke it's like souping up sports cars and street racing. Sure it's fun but super dangerous. Vaping is like souping up your car but instead going to car shows and drives. Much safer and a healthy hobby.
