A week ago I have bought Bou 30W which is a clone of iStick 30.
Bou 30W Style Variable Wattage Box Mod Black
On page of Angelsigs it is written it can go from 2W to 30W, and it is a lie. I hoped it is improved version of iStick, but seems it has the same circuit in. It starts only from 5 W, and quite often I like to vape at lower wattages (you know, to suck on pacifier without really spending any juice). And it is a bit too small to be comfortable. Vamo is still better, and I can just replace batteries instead of charging the whole device (where are phones with replaceable battery?)
Otherwise it feels very sturdy, buttons are solid, battery life is good. I have not used iStick, but think there is practically no difference.
Hello everyone, the thread's title is pretty self-explanatory. I've been vaping on my trusty iTaste VV v3 for the past 9 months but alas, its battery is starting to kick out and does not hold charges like it used to. I'm finding myself charging the device 2-3 times a day if I'm chain vaping. Needless to say, it's time to pick up a new vape. I have done some reserach online and it seems that the iTaste VV v4 is now available and it seems to be the same as the v3 except with a new and improved LCD as well as a 1000mah battery (as opposed to the original 800 mah that the v3 has). I was thinking on taking the plunge and getting the v4 however before I did, I wanted to ask to see if anyone here could recommend any other pen-style vapes that may be even better than the v4. My only requirements are that it be variable wattage and voltage, and the bigger the battery, the better. The iStick 30 seems like a good option for a compact vape however if I'm putting my vape in my pants with my phone, the iStick 30 may be a little too bulky. Subohm would be nice as well, but not necessary as I won't be cloud chasing on a pen-style vape anytime soon.
Thanks in advance for all the feedback!
I just got an istick 30w the other day from a local tobacco store. I bought an istick 30w for $45 which isn't too bad, I'm having problems with it not charging to full. I am using a 1a rated charger and it is supposed to charge to full in exactly 2.5 hours with a dead battery. I cannot get it to charge above about 75-80%, no matter what I do. As of now it's been on the charger for 2 hours and 38 minutes and is at about 80%, and is showing no sign of continuing to charge.
When I leave the device on overnight, I will wake up and it will be at around 65%, and it would have just stopped charging. I don't understand.
A vaping buddy at work told me about a new (to me, anyway) company called VaporFi. He was all excited about a box mod they carry ca;;ed a VOX 50 - 50W mod with replaceable battery. Looking at the specs it looks to me like it doesn't do much more than an iStick 50W. It does have temperature control, which some people seem to be all excited about and the battery IS replaceable. Other than that I can't see much difference, and it's four times the price of the iStick 50. Am I missing something?

Hi everybody, I have lost track of new vaping gear and need an advice.
Finally one of my mods died. The newest one, Joyetech eVic Primo. Bad from the beginning (because of its faulty protection) it just stopped working. Another mod should die soon. It is a clone of iStick 30, 4+ years old. It's my best mode, but its battery already is at about of half capacity (after about 1500 charges).
So, now I use iStick 30, iStick Pico 25 and iStick Pico. Tanks (from best to worst) Kayfun 5, Siren 2, Ammit, OBS Engine NANO.
I need a new mod and, possibly, a new tank.
Thanks for reading.
I love my Istick 50 for ease of use, size, battery life but I'm looking to get something similar with replaceable batteries. I don't vape over 20w and mouth to lung inhale. I'm not into rebuildables. Thanks
Or maybe even a heretic, or a blasphemer?
I like mini tanks and small batteries. My favorite setups are mini protank version 1 clones with 650mah basic ego style batteries. Stainless steel finish, no funky colors or designs. Single bottom coil on the tanks, no air flow controls. Standard voltage batteries, no twisty things on the bottom, no usb passthrough, no digital displays, just a battery. I like the ego style because the protruding button is easier to find and helps keep them from rolling around. The lack of features I don't need means the batteries are small. I like small, sleek, simple.
I have a nice big fancy Smok vv/vw battery. If I cut my juice in half with VG I can blow some massive clouds without knocking myself out. I found this to be mildly amusing for a short period of time. I also found out that with my regular mix when I dialed around for the "sweet spot" I ended up at 3.7 volts...
The mini tanks don't hold a day's worth of juice, and the 650mah batteries don't last all day. So what? Tank gets low, twist it off and pop another on. Battery light flashes, same thing. I've got a battered old EGO case from my first starter kit, it holds four tanks and batteries and a bottle of juice with room to spare.
I got my first mini pro tank from a vape shop. I just assumed it was a Kanger, but there was no mention of Kangertech anywhere on the packaging or tank. Whatever, I really liked it. I figured the real deal would be even better so I ordered one online. Kanger had discontinued the version 1, so I bought the "new, improved" version 2. It was good, but I liked the clone version 1 better. The clone tanks are polycarbonate rather than pyrex, but I don't vape plastic eating flavors, so that's a non-issue.
Now I'm not knocking all the cloud chasing, coil winding, wick trimming gear heads that seem to dominate these forums, but if there's anybody else out there who enjoys vaping with a nice, simple, inexpensive setup, I'd like to hear from you.
So I have been vaping for a few months now. I started with the ego type battery starter kit bought from a brick and mortar ( you all know the deal, littile carrying case, 650mah battery, junk clearomizer, and bottle of funky juice). I knew after a week I would not stop smoking with that alone. I then went and bought the Vision Spinner 2 and a Protank mini 3. I was feeling quite happy with this setup and went from a pack a day down to 4-6 analogs. I was even feeling better health wise. I soon discovered the vast world of vaping and "needed" the iStick mod. I bought that and threw the Protank mini 3 on it and life was good. I had no problems with my iStick and it was a huge step up from what I was using prior. It "satified" my need of "smoking". Everything was going well untill one day I busted the glass on the tank. I was not gonna let that get me down though. My vaping buddy gave me a some sort of knockoff topper that used the aspire coils ( I beleive it was a Nautilus mini clone of some sort, branded with the local shops name ). Still it fed my habit well. Now let me say I live in a small town and there is 2 brick and mortar shops. I usally would buy my coils from them and a bottle of liquid every now and then but.....I bought my iStick online. Fast forward a couple months now and I live with 2 roommates (one is a total jerk, and the other is a party machine. We all are in our mid 30's). Well recently I get off work and come home to a "party" on a tuesday night (like usual). Now remember I live in a small town and everyone vaping is using the ego type with plastic clearomizer. The brick and mortar shops here selll those and $100 RDA (which only a few friends I know have). Well this particular night my iStick was the talk of the kitchen table. Everyone wanted to try it and push the buttons. "Who can hit it at the higest watt?" type conversations. The night is ending and Im getting ready to go to my room. I set the iStick on its "charger" (just a handmade cutout box I made for it) sitting on the kitchen counter. 8 hours later I hit the BREW button on the coffee maker and reach for the iStick. IT IS FREAKING GONE!!!!!!!!! Now here is the deal. Noone there the night before knew anything about using it or finding the "sweet spot". The thing is that the knock off tank I was using is a 510 thread and I was using the included adapter to ease the wear and tear on the threads. So I am left with a Vision 2 spinner and a tank that just does not fit it. I AM SO ANGRY! I bring it up to my roommate and she is like "no one stole it, you misplaced it". If anyone of you guys and gals are like me, you know where your setup is at all times. So that leaves me with a MARK 3 disposable for now.
Sooooooooo does anyone have a lead on a good deal right now online? I see threre is a 30 watt now available. So if anyone know of a great deal please PM me or reply. I have limited funds right now but do not want to go back to Parliment analogs. Thanks for looking and letting me vent.
So I pulled the trigger and decided to upgrade my istick 20w and get the istick 50w.
Came fully charged so threw on my nautilus and started vaping and I have to draw really hard to get some vapor. I've tried different wattages from 7-18 and the results are still low vapor. Not no vapor but not as much as I should be getting. So I thought it was a bad coil or atty so I threw the same tank onto my istick 20w and worked perfectly with a ton of vapor.
Threw it back on the 50 and made sure the counter was counting and took a vape for 7 seconds with about half the vapor from the 20w.
Am I doing something wrong?
thanks
Brian
I just bought an eleaf istick. I was using, for the few months I've been vaping, only eGo type batteries and decided to spend a little more on a mod and an RTA (EHPro kayfun lite).
The istick just arrived. I know it's not the most advanced piece of vaping hardware, but it's a huge step up from the eGo c twist.
I mean, with the same clearo (nautilus mini), the same juices and, allegedly, the same voltage, this thing makes my vaping experience so much better it's almost unbelievable.
If you're using an eGo battery, and you're serious about going on vaping and quiting smoking for good, by all means buy a regulated mod. It's really, really better.
I realize in the U.S. it's not a big deal, you can get a mod by $30 or less, but here in Brazil an istick goes for at least $100,but it's worth the money.
Now I expect the kayfun to be another step up, after I get decent coil building and wicking skills.
Just sharing the experience anyways.
Thanks for all the help you at this forum give to us at the community.
Cheers!
Would anyone please tell me what you call that adapter thing that connects a recessed 510 connection, such as in Mini Protank, to say an iStick. I'm looking for one but I don't know what to search for. I do have one which came with my iStick but need another one for the iStick I bought for my son. Thanks.
