Any Cons Of Having A Series Box? Is It Necessary To Get New Batteries?

Wondering if its necessary to get brand new batteries for your new series box? I have some VTC 4s and i used them but not much.. i was planning on using those on it. Good idea? And if someone could name me some cons of the series circuit?

Voltage Sag

An online vape shop here at Greece at the description for dotBox Dual Mech mod says"

"Switch to Parallel Mode for longer Vaping time and exceptional power from two 18650 batteries".

The dotbox dual mech has the option to select series or parallel connection via a switch.
I send them a email that this doesn't apply (for the same power output always),for example 0.1 ohm coil in parallel connection and 0.4 ohm coil in series connection.

Two batteries in series provide the same amount of watt hours a parallel connection does.

The vapeshop replied and told me that the description is copy and paste from Dotmod.com

Indeed.
QUOTE from dotBox Dual Mech - dotmodretail
"Last Longer. Switch to Parallel Mode for longer Vaping time and exceptional power from two 18650 batteries".

The vape shop also said that the voltage sag at parallel connection is spread out over the two batteries in Parallel. Thus more vaping time than using a series connection.

Okey I made the calculations for voltage sag using for example two Sony VTC5A 18650 batteries with a DC Internal Resistance = 18.6mOhms (0.018 ohm).

I got the same voltage sag 0.378 V in both configurations (0.1 build in parallel-0.4 build in series).

Am i correct or am I missing something?(i'll send to the vape shop the link for this thread so they can read your opinions because i think they believe i'm talking bulls..t!

Nichrome Melting In Triple Series Use

So I built a twisted build out of nichrome 60 wire and tried it on a triple series 18650 mechanical box and it melted the coils why won't nichrome work with any series boxes 8.4 volt melted 12.6 volt melted but I can build a .06 nichrome build and run it on my mech tube mod and it handles it I can build .15 and run it at 150 watts on my Sigelei and it handles it but bump up the voltage and it melts don't get it. I ran a .30 nichrome build at 260 watts on a SMY 260 and had no failure of the coil so I'm puzzled why a series mech box desemates the coils?

Best Of The Best Charger?

Hey folks.
Title pretty much says it all. Invested in a collection of aw from rtd. Found that my el cheapo charger was getting them to 4.3. Figured it was time to invest. Most of the threads I found where pretty dated.
So... There's the nitecore d series. The pila (didn't research this one a lot) or the xtar.
Finding pros and cons to each. What's your up to date opinion?

Series & Parallel

I know with regulated mods it doesn't really matter, but I'm just curious. How can I tell if my regulated mod works in series or parallel. I have the Aegis Legend 200W.

Some Series 18650 Questions

I bought my Sigelei 100w Plus a few days back and ordered 2 Sony VTC4's on my same order (I'm confident they're legitimate, I've bought some before) to be able to marry them together and use them with my Sigelei. Upon receiving the batteries, I labelled one A, and one B and put them into my charger at the same time (charger was off, put both in and turned it on), one battery is slightly more charged than the other (it's 2/3 bars, while the other is still 1/3). I'm a bit worried about using married batteries, I understand rotating A and B in my Sigelei and charger but will they be the same charge when they're done? They're new batteries and they both went on at the same time yet one of them is charging a little bit faster.

When both of the batteries are fully charged, will they be safe to use and cycle accordingly? I heard about if one battery has even a tiny bit less, the batteries will take an uneven load and it will make it risky. How do I ensure that these batteries remain married?

80 Watts Or 150 Watts?

The 65 watt M65 I got is defective. So I'm returning it and replacing it with a new mod. But I'm stuck between 2 mods. The Smoktech X-Pro M80, or the Vape Connexx 150. Both look great but I'll give you a quick run down on the pros and cons of both.

Smoktech M80

Pros - 4400 mAh built in battery, 80 watts max power, .2-3.0 ohms, pass through vaping, decent sized and stylish.
Cons - only 80 watts, built in battery, 4400 mAh.

Vape Connex

Pros - like the bulkyness of it, huge firing button, 180 day warranty, interchangable 18650, magnetic back, .1-3.0 ohms.
Cons - no pass through, never heard of the brand.

So should I stick with a brand I know? Or risk it and get a really powerful mod? Any input is appreciated. Thanks y'all.

Vapour2 Pro Series 7 For Concentrates?

Just had a look at the Vapour2 PRO Series 7 and I really like how simple it is to use and how quickly it heats up. One problem though: it doesn't seem to have (or accept) inserts for concentrates (in my case Dokha tobacco, smoked in very small amounts because you do not want to be vaporizing a large bowl of that stuff). Any ideas?

Also, when vaporizing dry herbs is it okay to leave the herb in the chamber for like 3 hours and then come back and vape it later on or does it have to be finished in one sitting otherwise it dries out and loses its flavor/nicotine?

Mod Screen Readings

So I've recently gotten back into using mods. This is my first regulated mod. I was using mechs back in the day. Looking back, I had no real understanding of how they worked, but I was building simple 6 wraps on whatever gage so I never had a problem. I now have a regulated 200w mod and understand how to come up with the voltage and amperage being they are generally in series form. But what do the voltage and amp draw on my scree mean. Of what purpose is it. They don't tell me the current voltage of my batteries or what amps are being pulled from them.

Mephisto By El Diablo Rda??

Anyone have this? please tell me some pros and cons if your do! Im planning on putting it on a sigelei 150 watt thanks!!

Batteries

Hello

Haven't been here in quite a long time but I have a question.

I have had a good supply for batteries for about a year now and have bought batteries from the same place... rtdvapor since I started vaping.

Batteries are getting old, looking to get new.. but when I go to rtd it says it is unavailable.

So I guess I have 2 questions.

Anyone know if rtd vapor is still in business? and if not anyone know a reliable place I can go for batteries?

Thank you all in advance!
