Why Are Cartomizers Flat On The Top?

95% of everything I vape is with different clearomizers that I use. They have these tips on the top that fit my mouth nicely, and I like vaping with these clearomizers.

I keep a few cartomizers around for plastic cracking e-juices, and my question is - Why don't cartomizers also have that tip on the top? Why are they all flat?

I far prefer clearomizers over cartomizers for my set up, but for those times when I do use a cartomizer, it sure would be nice if they came with the same tip on top that clearomizers use. Cartomizers should at least let people put their own tip on them, but that's not possible either, at least on the ones that I've seen.

Question From A Luddite

Hi Guys,

I've been vaping for 5 years or so. The main reason I quit smoking and took to vaping was I confess, not for my health, but for my purse. As we all know cigs are too expensive and I actually love vaping more than I ever liked smoking.

Anyway, I'm also set in my ways. Except for a brief foray into tanks, I have used low res cartomizers and have been happy. Now, I am finding it impossible to buy cheap Boge cartos so apparently while I have been happily vaping away without hanging out in the vaping community, the world has moved on and there are all sorts of new fangled products on the market. But, most of the new stuff is ridiculously expensive! I'm just a poor girl, I don't wanna buy fancy crap. Right now I am using an Iclear 16 tank and I gotta say it sucks compared to Boge cartomizers. I use a ton of juice (I make my own juice cuz it is wayyy cheaper) and the wicks only last a couple days compared to 2 weeks for cartos.....What gives?

Isn't there a CHEAP way to vape anymore? I don't wanna buy expensive mods, I use these 10 dollar pass-through rechargeable batteries and everything is cheap and hunky dunky....

Any suggestions on a cheap cheap cheap replacement for cartomizers?

Thanks!

E-pipe Problem

So I ordered an e-Pipe 628 from China, and it worked for a day, but now I can't get the coil to fire. The distributor offered to take it back, but maybe someone can help me figure out what's wrong with it, so I don't have to go through the hassle of wrapping it up and shipping it back overseas (at my expense).
Anyway, it's fully charged, and I definitely know how to work it, but when I connect the bowl to the cartomizer and push the button, nothing happens. I took the bowl apart and looked for a loose wire, but everything appeared to be in working order. I've also tried all three cartomizers, and none of them work anymore. (They all worked the first day.) I'm pretty sure the battery's center pin is making a connection with the cartomizer. I even pulled the center pin of one of the cartomizers out a little bit to make sure. Is there anything else I'm missing? My daughter swears she didn't drop it when I let her use it. This is so frustrating! I can figure out pretty much anything by fiddling with it long enough, yet this thing is giving me heck! I've been at it for over a week now.

Help With New E-cig

I have been using SmokelessImage 950mAH for 8 years and now they've closed. I ask your help in finding a similar one. The market has changed so much since then.

I liked this ecig (see image) because it had re-fillable cartridges. I liked the size and it was a passthrough. I don't care about a lot of vapor. I tried clear cartomizers but they use too much oil, too much vapor, too strong and coughed from them.

I like cartridges because they seem to soften the hit. The ones from Smokeless Image were half the price of the ones I've found since. They sold 5 for $5.95. Ones I've found are 5 for $9.95-$10.95. Are there other choices to filter besides cartridges and cartomizers?

Can you recommend an ecig that could replace? I need a passthrough system. Any suggestions about changing the system based on above would be appreciated. I am not an ecig fanatic by any means. I stopped smoking using them. Thanks!

Old Vaper Stuck In His Ways Looking For New Path

Background: I started vaping years ago when the technology was relatively immature and rapidly changing. I was an avid participant in this forum at the time. I used 808s and 510s with all sorts of atomizers, cartomizers, clearomizers, and tanks (and most of them were awful by today's standards). Some of you who have also been around for a while may remember cutting up air conditioner filters...

But when I found the Eleaf iStick Pico and paired it with an Aspire Nautilus tank (1.8 Ohm coils) I was done. I have used that same rig for years and have been very satisfied. I even quit coming to this forum because I thought there was nothing left for me to learn.

But I know the technology has continued to advance and I am now wondering if I am missing out on the next great leap in vaping. I have come back to this forum (a little surprised my account was still active) seeking updated knowledge.

To be clear, I am not interested in creating giant thick clouds of vapor. In fact I generally prefer to keep my vaping clouds as thin and inconspicuous as possible when I am anywhere outside of my own home (which sadly is not too much these days). It is throat hit and flavor that I am after (so I try to find low VG juices, for example).

So I am hoping that some kind forum members will help me quickly get back up to speed on the state of the art for vaping. Maybe point me to some good resources that will explain the more recent advances. I tend to think of sub-ohm mods as being only for those giant clouds, but maybe I am full of it. But I have been told that rebuildable atomizers offer better flavor, so that interests me. I don't even know what I don't know at this point. Please help me learn.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Cartomizers

Interested to know if anyone else uses cartos without tanks? Have been vaping for over 4 years now. Tried all sorts of toppers and always seem to return to Boge S/C's at 5.5 volts on my provaris or 5 volt Woo. All the best B.K.

Old Vaper With Newbie Question

Hi all. Been vaping over ten years now, this Forum was tremendously helpful to me when I got started but haven't been back for awhile. I need help on a new setup. Ive been vaping on 510 dual coil cartomizers, double punched, in a tank for years now but the carts are almost impossible to get now. I am a mouth to lung vaper and use a 40W box mod at 7.7W with a 1.5 or 2 ohm cart. Started at 24 mg juice but down to 4 mg.
I am technologically challenged so hopefully I got all that right.
Anyway, can anyone recommend a setup for me to replace my precious carts? There are SO MANY options it's hard to pick.

Will Cartomizers Make A Comeback Under "grandfather" Fda Rules?

Just pondering upon this for a bit. Any thoughts?

Recommend An Easy Set Up Please

Hi all, it's been awhile for me. I've been using an ego like battery with a rebuildable ego vision cartomizer since last May. While its rebuildable I have not gotten into replacing parts. The other day I went to reorder cartomizers to find they can no longer be ordered. I have only ever ordered from one place and I am at a loss for what to top my batteries with. I am looking for something really easy to use. If this is the wrong place to post, please move. I wasn't sure where to post since I still feel new but am not new.

Some Questions After A Long Break Billet Box

Hi ,

Was an active member for quite a while. Gave away all my vaping gear apart from two billet box mods. A 2015 and 2017.

I've dusted them off. Bought some eLiquid from old Old faithful halo.

What are people running in their BB? I've got a box of 510 cartomizers. Should I look at something else ?

I've been on nic gum for the past few years..and need to get off it. So back to vaping ..thanks for the help.

I noticed since I gave vaping away reos mods has closed. And nic salts are now an option..how quickly things change .

Help With Name Of Old Vaping Reseller

Does anyone remember a very popular vaping reseller out of California I think that had a devil as their logo? They resold joyetech 510 cartomizers, amongst other things, with their devil logo on it. They eventually came up with one of the first pod systems. This was like 10 years ago.

Thanks.
