"how Many Hours A Day..."

I was asked this question yesterday by a friend who remarked "Every time I visit you, you're playing around with your (ecig) stuff. How many hours a day do you *spend messing around with it?" (*I think he actually used the verb "waste", but I'll let his non-vaper's judgment slide for the sake of friendship)

I hadn't given it any thought till he said something, but it's true. Every time this friend drops by, he seems to catch me in the process of washing, building, wicking, or tinkering with something ecig related. After thinking about it, I'll estimate that I spend an average of 30 to 45 minutes a day tinkering. On a day like Sunday when I have a lot of free time, it's probably more like an hour and a half.

It's not that I have to devote that much time, I just enjoy the tinkering aspect (refilling my Kayfuns with needle-nosed bottles excepted. That part of it is pure tedium for me). But admittedly, that does seem like a lot of time. When it all adds up, it's like a full day out of every month that I spend just tinkering.

So, how much time do you spend washing, building, wicking, filling, swapping batteries, and generally tinkering with your stuff? This is NOT including actual vaping time, only tinkering.

Is Ecf Addictive? Whats Your Average # Of Posts Daily?

I've been a wondering how much time some members spend on this forum and why? and do you think you're hooked?

Also, some (relatively) new members have already achieved over a 1,000 posts in a few weeks!!!!!!!!!

I figure it is a terrific place to grow your knowledge and (at the same time) help new members/vapors by answering their questions; but is there an issue here regarding 'status' or else something more elusive.......

My family think I spend too much time on it but my average posts are only around 2 posts a day, granted, mostly accumulated in the last few months.

What's your take on it?

I Spotted 2 Vapers In The Wild Outside The Hospital Today

I had to take my roomie to the hospital for a persistent problem he's been having, so, while I was waiting, I went downstairs to vape on the bench outside. A security guard spotted me and told me, "You can't smoke", so I responded, "It's not smoke; it's vapor." That's when I spotted a young lady leaving the hospital and pulling out her PV, so I asked her which B&M she gets her stuff from...we struck up a brief conversation and then parted ways.

A few hours later, I had to take the very same roomie back to the hospital, this time to the ER--again! It was so busy it took him 3 hours to be called in and another 4 to be released. Meanwhile, when I stepped outside for a vape, I spotted another vaper in the wild: an EMT puffing on a Blu cigalike. He saw my MVP and commented, "Ooh, a vaporizer!" He told me he was thinking about upgrading to a mod. I suggested he did so.

Thick Dark Eliquids

I have a bunch of eliquids that have gone much too thick and dark. The only thing I can think of is to maybe buy some pure PG to thin them out.

I estimate maybe I should get 2 120ml bottles of PG. Does anyone sell small amounts of PG like that?

The question might be moot at any minute, but it would be stupid of me to waste all the open eliquid bottles I have at a time like this.

Is there anything else I can do that might help? I keep wasting coils prematurely when I try vaping any of these.

My eliquids are stored in a bag in the bottom of the "smoking cart" so they aren't really in the sun very much. TIA

Vapers Or Vapors?

I would like to clear up the terminology used among those who vape. A vapor is the cloud of vaporized e-liquid heated by the coil. A Vaper is the person who vapes. The issue with this is that if we as a community should speak or write intelligently on this subject, we should all agree to our patterns of speech. I understand that to many people this will appear like a waste of time but we are at a time in which t's must be crossed and i's dotted. If we can't convince others that vaping is a healthier choice, we will be spending $50 for 15ml of juice and hundreds of dollars for gear. Some of us already spend exorbitant amounts of money already but I for one want the choice, not because some bureaucrat decided it for me. I've said my piece so have at me but I just got tired of people writing "I'm a vapor who likes tasty vapers".

How Much Do You Spend On Vaping In A Month?

Calculated I spent 104USD on average for this three month,it’s some money due to me buying all the necessary mod and pod plus juice.

If my mod did not gave up on me I would spend 55USD on average per month, while using drop in coil which I am very happy about it...How much did you spent on vaping stuff and how much on average would you spent if you didn’t had to chip in on devices.

I didn’t do rta/rda because I had many working hours and I tried one rta,it’s just a hassle changing the cotton or coil and I am a lousy builder hence I use sub ohm tank

Ideas For A Bulk Purchase/cheap Setup To Assist Transition For Friends?

Hi all,

I've spent most of the last year getting involved with local advocacy and legislative groups/issues in various ways; I'd like to ramp up my involvement a little bit in 2015 by assisting my fellow analog users with the transition to vaping. I've donated a few iSticks and Nautilus Mini tanks to some friends; and would like to step up this effort in a bit more economical/affordable way. While directing them to our local B&M has worked for some, a lot have "not had time" or are hesitant to spend the time to learn/jump in to it at the local B&M (I'm guessing on most of this.) I don't want to force anything on them; this is the group of friends who always want to try my setup and love it, are very interesting in quitting analogs, but just haven't made the effort to dive in.

I'd like "prime" them a little more to help them with a successful transition by handing them a nice starter device. I don't want to do this by introducing them to poor quality gas station/big tobacco products that will have them back on analogs in no time. I'm looking for a very affordable, simple "starter" setup with everything they need to get them started.

Anyone else with similar experiences and a good device idea for this? I'd like to start with six devices; will spend up to $200 for this initial trial run and see how it goes. I'm wondering if there are some online vendors who may have deals on bulk purchase "starter" packs that will be good for those who know absolutely nothing about vaping and get them more interested in it... any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks all!

"airlock". The True Cause Of Wicking Issues And Dry Hits.

So i'm not familiar with every single atomizer on the market. They're all different in their design. One potential problem i do believe to be universal in all these devices though is an "Airlock".

Regardless of how much cotton wool has been crammed into the wells of an RTA, or whether you primed your drop in coil enough, an airlock will prevent the e liquid from getting to the wick everytime. Time and time again you either re-wick or swap out the drop in coil. Then you think "there is definitely something wrong with the atomizer".

How many times have you built a new coil, or simply re-fiiled on an existing wick, and then found all you get is dry hits and you can't figure out why ?. Maybe you eventually decide "this atomizer is no good".

The simple solution is to add more e liquid than you think you should when "priming" the coil/wick. It's not a process which takes just a minute or two. The whole idea is to let the e liquid soak right through the cotton wool, through the channels until it starts to seep out the other end of those channels, where ever that might be !. To go from a tank to a coil/wick the e liquid has to travel through the channels.

If cotton wool soaked in e liquid is at one end of the channels then that is what is causing the "airlock".

Simply put "it's "trapping" the air in the channels and causing an airlock".

You get rid of all the air in the channels by "bleeding" the system. This should be the most important part of "priming". Allowing the e liquid you've added as a primer to expel all the air from the system. Without doing this you are running the risk of successive dry hits and confusion.

So you add e liquid as a primer, let it soak into the cotton wool then add a few drops more. Then, wait a few minutes to see how far the e liquid has got. Wait for it to come out the other end because that what you should be looking for. Once you see it coming out the other end of the channels you know the system has been fully bled. And then you can reassemble your device and fill the tank.

Smoking Is Allowed...but Vaping Isn't [college Campus]

So this campus has basically shut me down vaping in any way.

Outside of the commons, there is a smoking area. First day I moved in I started vaping away, listening to music. Then a random guy tapped on my shoulder and told me "They don't like you doing that here." And I was like, uhm thanks for the warning. Did it a few more days without incident, and I had a RA approach me and tell me that "We don't allow that here." I asked why, and she just said that's what I've been told. Was vaping again, because I figured if I did get in trouble it'd be a chance to explain how ridiculous it is to not allow vaping in a smoking area. Head of student housing sees me, and says that I have to stop doing that or he'll write me up. I try to ask why and he simply says "We have no idea what could be in there" and walks away. ????

So I figured I'm not going to risk it, I'll just stealth vape on a little vv mod in my room while I work. My room mate is cool with it, obviously vapor doesn't damage the room in any way, no obvious smell. Its 2am, and of course after only about 5-10 hits a deafening BEEP BEEP BEEP and strobe lights. Apparently I somehow set off the fire alarm. So I quickly think to throw popcorn in the microwave, and as I'm doing it the sound stops. At this point I'm shaking because I could forfeit my security deposit, get everyone evacuated, and have the fire department come out. I wait for a couple hours, but nothing comes of it. No one has to leave the building or anything. I was never confronted about it.

At this point I'm really paranoid, so I pull my car into the far parking lot. Close the windows, and vape there. Listening to the radio, put my seat back and was enjoying myself. This is an area that technically isn't the property of the college so I think I'll be fine. NOPE, I hear sirens... Cop jumps out of his car, loudly knocks on my windows. I roll it down a bit and vapor starts billowing out. After a little bit of back and forth he explains that someone called him out for a "car fire" and that he was doing a wellness check. At this point I'm thinking I really just can't catch a break. He's nice enough about it and even laughs before leaving.

Now I'm way too paranoid to vape on campus at all. I was used to chain vaping at my desk, but now every time I have to drive out and spend an hour sitting in my car :/

What Happened To My Yami Kamurai?

I used this for a long time. Before you think ill stop you now, its not vaporz tongue, not change of tanks or wicking, no more or less nic, no changes. I have noticed since 4 previous bottles, since June that it just tastes awful now. I've gone off of it for a month and tried it again on a same sort of weather day "yes it kinda has a roll in taste" and still tastes the same ever since my June bottle. Now its just sitting on the shelf, amongst 20 other I never go to again bottles.

Is it just me or something?

Aren't We All A Bit Obsessed About Vaping?

(I know this doesn't apply to all of us, but for me it sure does.)

I mean.. look at us. Spending so much time here on the forum reading about tips and tricks, what's your vape? what is the juice you vape? etc etc. I haven't joined a forum for 15 years or so. The last time i was on a forum i was a 16 year old boy, trying to figure out life and the best way i knew how was being anonymous on the internet asking and pondering life's questions.. like "*** am i supposed to do here on planet earth?"

Nowadays i watch daily video's about vaping. From health concerns to indoor smokers, from conspiracy theories (tobacco companies) to Rip Trippers. Outside the digital life whenever i'm home i either vape, try new juices, building another coil, wicking and make my girlfriend try a new taste oh.. almost forgot the most expensive part, checking out webstores for... whatever i think might be missing from my collection

Don't get me wrong though, i love it. It's fun, it's interesting, it's a bit of a nerd thing i guess. Trying to find the perfect vape. It's like a drug (and i know drugs, i like them.. from time to time with moderation offcourse
nicotine is a drug, caffeine is a psycho active drug, alcohol and offcourse all the illegal ones. From xtc to heroine, one worse then the other)

But i find it very interesting that since i started vaping that i somehow had this need to find fellow vapers and talk about it. Haven't had that feeling for years, to be part of something.

I also never ever attended a demonstration for anything in my life, but today in a couple of hours from now i'll be in Utrecht vaping with other vapers against the ****ty little regulations the EU forces on us vapers. I do this for multiple reasons;

1) i truly hate that whoever says i cannot do/buy/use something *as long i'm not hurting or bother someone else with it*
2) it pisses me off that the elite, may it be a person or the bigger companies use unfair tactics to get whatever they want
3) to meet fellow vapers and talk about... vaping..

Anyway yesterday night in bed i thought this and was wondering how you guys/girls feel about it
