Curious About Box Mods

Just got back from my local vape shop, i still ask questions 6 months into vaping. Not too mention they have various gear you can try out. So was curious what various box mods vape like compared to my Vamo 5 Nautilus/ Alantis sub ohm CF sub setups. Also got a ZNA 50 watt APV mod which i don't use much as it does drain the batteries really fast. I tend to use the ZNA 50 when my CF is on charge. I been vaping a lot on my Nautilus Vamo 5 set up a lot recently due to it being a lot kinder on my juice. Sub ohm vaping does love drinking juice like anything.

So my visit to the vape shop as made me curious about box mods in general as there some nice small compact ones out there. Was looking at box mods that can go up to 80 watts.

If and when i take the plunge as i'm just rolling it around in my mind at the moment. I'm not keen on the dripper's tanks so i would most be thinking about a box mod that i could attach a sub ohm tank on and one you could charge on it's own.

Any recommendations anyone ?

PS i love the new look of the forums! a major improvement.

Nautilus Wattage ?

Hi guys

Another day another question...... What's the maximum wattage the Nautilus will vape safely at ? Last night i decided to purchase a ZNA 50 mod after reading a thread on these forums. I recently got a Alantis + Sub Ohm battery Valentines week, i'm definitely getting more into vaping with the Alantis a month in. More flavour more of a enjoyable experience all together.

I bought 0 mg Nicotine Apple juice for the Nautilus by mistake so re ordered etc the right strength. While i was waiting i just vaped on the Alantis, yesterday went back to the Nautilus and the experience wasn't really enticing.

I was thinking going with two Alantis tanks hence the reason why i decided last night to go ahead with the purchase of the ZNA 50. Now i'm wondering if the ZNA 50 will improve the Nautilus regarding flavour ?

I like my flavour being a menthol smoker, if not i should be able to use it with the Alantis and buy another tank and have two.

I use the Nautilus on a Vamo 5 that can only go up to 15 Watts. What's the maximum in wattage the Nautilus can do ?

Once You Sub You Can't Stop

Does anybody else on here feels once they start their new journeys with sub vaping they can't stop and find it hard jumping back to their old tanks set ups ? I'm just wondering what people views are on the subject.

I mean i have 2 set ups my Nautilus on my Vamo 5 which i been vaping with for 6 months now, it was good the Nautilus was my baby to the Alantis came a long. If i vape on the Nautilus these days it feels like i'm smoking a weak roll up ciggie.

The Alantis gives a great nice vape but the downside is you always filling the tank up, i mean i can get a night out the Alantis before having to refil. But the experience is far more advanced then anything the Nautilus set up can give me.

Looking Back At 2015 - A Banner Year That Started My Vaping Journey

Greetings, while looking through my photo archive I found images that help show my beginning steps in vaping. I need to point out that during the work day I use losenges that I get from Costco so only smoked in the mornings before work and the afternoons after work.

Here's the first one taken July 6th 2015:

In March/April of 2015 the other half started complaining about my cigarette smoke. She had a eye issue that she found was sensitive to the smoke when returning from visiting her daughter. (she would get used to it but would complain when he first got back)

Looking to solve the problem possibly with Vaping, I picked up a Blue kit and some extra cartridges from (of all places Costco). It was not all that expensive and the batteries (or cartridges) did not last very long or put out much vapor. They did have a "coffee" flavor I did like. I continued smoking.

Next time she left for a few days with her daughter I dropped by a local vape shop and for ~$75-100 (I forget) they set me up with a iTaste CLK!, Aspire K1 (and Maxi) and 15ml of 18mg Strawberry juice. While it took 3 days to get used to the charging/refilling/exc of the setup I quit smoking with this setup. The 1.5ml tank and mere 800mah battery were the main limitations as well as "glassomizers" really did not put out much vapor.

With in a few days I'd upgrade the tank to a Nautilus mini and shortly afterwards I'd get Full sized Nautilus tanks and the Blue tube mod shown in the center. While this mod was a good match to the Nautilus tank, I grew tired of swapping 18350's so bought the other two tube mods to the right. One could take ether 2x18350's stacked or a 18650 and the Vamo v10 on the right could take a stacked set of 18350's.

By July of that year I had given up on "drop in coil" tanks (the store bought juice I was using was killing them in as little as a few days) and had decided to take the plunge into RTA's and into temperature controlled vaping.

At the time the two leaders in TC vaping was DNA and Yihi. I bought a SXMini ($200) and three different popular (at the time) tanks: Atlantis, SubtankMini and Lemo2. Two of the three could be used with factory coils or a RBA head, the Lemo2 had the unique feature of top fill. (I still use a Lemo2 today!)

Back in those days if you wanted to TC, you were going to do it with Ni200 wire. I decided I liked the 28AWG. A few weeks later I had added two more mods:

By this point in my vaping journey I was developing a few habits: I was 'marrying' a flavor with a tank, a tank with a mod and all battery charging was being done via USB port. I just cycled complete setups on two USB charge cords I had. Others liked complaining about the SXMini's battery door but I had no issue with it as I'd only used it once.

Sometime that summer (or was it fall?) I got tired of paying the outlandish juice prices and decided to make my own. Granted for YEARS I simply made 7mg or 18mg unflavored 100% VG juice but the cost savings allowed me to get dozens of different tanks and mods to play with and try out.

By April 2016 I took this image:

TC vaping had evolved from from Ni200 wire to Ti to NiFe48 and SS. Early TC mods only supported Ni200 (and some Ti) and newer ones supported SS. Mods I've bought had to have a user programmable TCR value. I've been exclusively using NiFe48 for years.

Finally by about 2019 I decided to get into vaping flavors. Knowing that RDA's or Squankers give the best flavor, I outfitted myself (Bullcity flavors) with a bunch of squankers and now have the option of vaping flavors. (many of my squankers are in my profile image)

NOTE: only one mod in the images I've shown is dead and no longer able to be in service.

These days I have mods scattered all over the house but in/for 5 main areas: morning coffee, home office, watching tv, night stand and to take with me in the car/truck.

Thats my story and journey - happy vaping!

Cloupor, Vamo, Or What?

I have spent nothing on vaping in the last 7 months but now I am thinking about buyin a spare to spare for my Vamo 5 (to keep one at home and one at work). I am very satisfied with my Vamo – it worked perfectly for 8 months. I use it with 18360 battery, so it is not too long, fits perfectly in hand and after continuous use for 8 months it is still as good as a new one. But I do know it will go bad sooner or later, I have to be prepared. I was thinking about buying just another Vamo (may be Vamo 7), but then wondered if I would like to try a box mod. What if I would like it? And if not, I do need one more spare anyway.

So far I am thinking about Cloupor Mini 30W.
Authentic Cloupor Mini 30W Variable Wattage / Voltage VW VV APV Box Mod

Would you recommend it? Is it comfortable enough? Is it too small (to fit in hand)? Comfort and reasonable longevity are the most important thing for me. For example, I have found in Cloupor description “Magnet back cover, no need to use screwdriver, more”. It is very important for me; I could not imagine myself walking around with a screwdriver in case I have to replace a battery. What other mods (if any) should I consider? I do not need more than 30W, please do not advise me on more powerful mods unless they have some extremely useful features beyond their power. And I do not want to spend more money than necessary for a spare.

But maybe I will be still buying a new Vamo 7. Do somebody have hands on experience with this one?

Some Advice Please :)

Hey there!
I have been vaping for a little over a year now and have gone through several different set ups but am fairly happy with what I'm using atm-- I have one of those Aspire Sub Ohm batteries and have been using a Nautilus tank with it. It seems that the coils in the tank burn out super quickly because the battery is too strong for it I guess? Any way the other day my battery and tank (the whole shebang) fell right into the toilet. The only good thing was that the toilet was recently flushed so yeah... I am now in need of a new battery and was interested in one of those lil box mods that everyone in the world seems to be using lol. The tanks I have and would be using with it are my two Nautilus tanks (one is a mini) and sometimes an Innokin iClear thingy (the one with the cool rotating tip). I vape mostly very sweet caramel, cookie and cereal juices at .6 nic and am mostly in love with flavor versus cloud making if that makes any sense. I'm not at all good with any of the technical stuff so have no desire to use any rebuild-able stuffs. Oh and I have an Aspire vv battery but it loses the charge so quickly I am kinda wanting something new...

Any one have any great advice on a new battery for me?

A Tale Of Two Old Setups...

Greetings,

maybe I was bored. Maybe to much doom and gloom on all the bans of new gear and the shipping of it. I started to think - why not have some fun with some of the stuff I already have?

Cases in point - the two rigs in the picture above. I believe that all the hardware (mods and tanks) are over 5 years old. The setup on the left has a bit of a story about it.

Sitting on my desk is a few old tube mods that I wonder what it would be like to use again. I found a old (I think KFv3) tank laying around, built a very low mass 2ohm coil in it, filled it up and went and tried it out on my old 15W tube mods. Sadly not a one of them liked the KFv3 and would register the 2ohm coil. So what to do? I had a old Evic that surely could be put into power mode. While I was not to surprised that it all works (I've actually refilled the tank a few times and replaced the battery once) the vape is more restrictive than I tend to like and be it the build (or the 10W power mode) I don't really like the flavor of the unflavored juice with this. Another negative is that while it is top fill, there is no juice flow control so the atomizer get flooded each time the tank is refilled. While I could (and have) used it in a pinch, I can get 1-2 tank fills on a single 3000mah battery.

The setup on the right represents some historical firsts for me. Years ago when I first got into rebuilding a Lemo2 was one of three tanks I bought when I started. It was also my first top fill tank. Sitting under it is my first ever Dicodes mod (a #6). This mod is setup in TC mode with 380F temperature setting and 23W.

Be it the better tank or the use of TC mode, the setup on the right provides a good vape. The 26650 has enough mah to easily allow me to vape the tank dry (takes me most of the day) and since years ago I got Dicodes very over priced charger, I just drop the mod in the charger at the end of the day and its ready for more vaping in a few hours.

So, anyone else putting to use or having some fun with +5 year old vaping gear? How do you like it?

Charging And Real Battery Life In Mods

Hey everybody. Love this forum. I've got a question. I've got an MVP2, MVP3 and iStick 50. Long question short, do you think it's better for the life of these batteries (since I can't replace them) to run them all the way down, THEN charge them or just charge them every night until I wake up regardless of the life in them unless they are full? And, how long would any of you estimate these mods will last until they completely die? I mean using them every day. Chain vaping. 6 months? A year? I ask because I really thought about getting a Sigelei and it's too late now, but I would like to now for future reference.

Looking For A New Vape - Suggestions?

I have been out of the game for a while and have just been using old mods/RTA's.

I am looking for suggestions on some of the best up to date mods as well as some of the best RTA that go with the mods.

Here is a little info...I usually vape at around 30-35 watts...

For the mod, I am looking for one that takes a single 1865 battery, is small in size, and is lightweight.

For the RTA, I am looking for a single coil DL tank....one that can hold at least 5ml of juice, can go with the mod suggested, and provides great flavor.

Can you guys please give me some suggestions? Thanks a lot

What Are The Benefits Of High Vv/vw Mods?

Hi all

So I keep hearing about mods that go up to 100-150w. Right now I'm using an istick 30 with the aspire nautilus and whenever I vape above 19VW I get a burnt taste. I use 100% VG juice at 6MG.

If I pair a subtank sub-ohm tank with a high voltage mod will I be able to vape above 19w without a burnt taste?

If I could, what will a high VV/VW mod actually do to enhance my vaping experience? Stronger nicotine hit?

From using the istick at 19VW I don't see any difference from when I was vaping at 11.0VW on the MVP2.

Also, isn't it dangerous after the coils exceed a certain temperature?

What Do You 'crave' The Most About Vaping?

Most people justify vaping to smoking because it's healthier, and to some, cheaper, but what is it that you enjoy most out of vaping? The nic fix, the shiny mech mods, the high powered box mods, the clouds?

Personally, I love the flavor of vaping the most, along with my house and vehicles not smelling like an ashtray. I'm sure a lot of other people can attest to this too, but having a big collection of gear is pretty cool, too. I figured there would come a time when I'd cut back on spending, but it seems like with the selection of vape stuff out there today, just makes me want more. It's like it never ends.

Whats your favourite part of vaping?
