I am more than a month and a half into my journey. Sometime today I would have avoided my one thousandth combustible cigarette. I am still several times a day coughing up phlegm which is clear but sticky, with tiny brown spots. Actually I had this at the start and then it went away but now it is back. There is absolutely no pain associated with the coughing. My question for people who have been vaping for over a year is this: Can you, hand on heart, assure me that these are my lungs still busy cleaning themselves out and not the effect of say VG (since that is what the stuff I cough up feels like - sorry if this is TMI) with the tawny spots being remnants of flavouring? Can you assure me that this will in fact go away?
Thank you.
I havent touched a cigarette in 6 days. It's a miracle !! Lol.
Using stigs from Vgod disposable pods. 6% nicotine.
Day 1: lots of heart burns, feeling buzzed and lazy/slow.
Day 2 : more heartburn, still feeling buzzed and lethargic. Few times during the day had shortness of breath and a tight chest feeling
Day 3: woke up coughing like a ******. Not feeling so lazy and slow anymore. Some chest tightness comes and goes.
Day 4: still coughing in the morning, but not feeling slow or lethargic anymore
Day 5: feeling amazing. No cough, no heart burns, no tight chest feeling.
Day 6: great till now !!!
I'm going through a ton of stress at my job and recently began vaping ALOT more than I normally would, in two days I went through a 30mL bottle (not sure if that's a lot for some of you, but for me it is!)
about five days ago I woke up and my throat was EXTREMELY sore, extreme strep throat sore. For several days I could hardly talk and had excessive coughing spurts every 15-30 minutes. It's finally calmed down, last night I smoked a few cigarettes and had no discomfort in my throat, but I picked up my vape and tried to take a hit and the pain cannot be described. Today the same thing, I had a cigarette and was fine but when I go to hit my vape it's just unreal how bad the pain is in the back of my throat.
I know some people can have a bad reaction to the PG but I've been vaping for three + years and never had this type of problem. Has anyone else had this experience? Should i let my throat heal a little more before vaping? I just don't understand how a cigarette can be fine and the pain from the vape be so much.
I have been making my own liquid for about a year now without any issues. I just cannot seem to adapt my recipes for my SubTank. I am getting way too much throat / lung hits which leads to immediate coughing.
My all day recipe for the last year is a 60% PG/40% VG mix with 25% flavoring and 18mg of nicotine. I tried this mix in my SubTank at 0.5 ohms and immediately started coughing. I first thought the nicotine was too high so I lowered it down to 12mg then down to 6mg but still coughing. I then thought I was using too much flavoring for 0.5 ohms on the SubTank so I cut my flavoring in half.....STILL coughing. I even tried lowering my PG ratio and raising my VG ratio and..STILL coughing! I have also tried lowering my wattage to no avail.
By this point I am getting pretty annoyed and cannot figure out how to get a nice vape on the SubTank with my homemade e-liquid. The only store bought e-liquid that I have on hand is a bottle of GQ Eclipse @ 6mg. I get a great vape from this liquid on the SubTank (running between 12 and 16 watts). Why am I having so much trouble getting my homemade liquid tweaked for the SubTank? Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Am I running my wattage too low? I am open to any and all suggestions.
By the way.....my most recent batch was 20% PG / 80% VG with 12.5% flavoring and 6 mg of nicotine. I am still coughing my *** off when I try this juice.
Afternoon everyone or morning/night
Just a quick question Is black/brown spots in mucus and in snot normal 1 month later after not smoking? I get overly worried about these type of things just want to make sure its nothing out of the ordinary.
Hope everyone is having a good day!
I'm coughing like mad the past few weeks, even when I'm not vaping, I will feel choking than coughing
is it normal?
I've searched the forums and really couldn't find anything spot on with the problem I'm having, but if there is something I missed please forgive me. Anyways Ive been vaping for about 2 months now. I've had no problems with coughing and not being able to Vape up to now. I was using an Aspire Nautilis mini, and I decided to get a Kangertech sub tank mini. This is where the problems have begun. I'm coughing like crazy with this thing. I've done mouth to lung hits, let the it sit in my mouth before inhaling and still cough like crazy and it's only with this subtank I'm now using. I was using the 0.5 ohm coil that was on the unit. I switched to the 1.5 to see if that helped and it didn't. I've adjusted air flow, played with wattages and voltages and really no help. Is there a reason this is happening? What would be the cause of me having a coughing fit only when using this subtank? By the way I'm using a 50/59 mix of e juice.
First off I wanna start by saying this post isn’t made to bad mouth vaping in any way and I must say I am really going to miss doing it
Just to give some context I have been vaping for around 7 years and I make rap music
As the years have gone by I have began to notice the shortness of breath taking effect very slowly but I feel due to what I do, it is a lot more apparent than the average user and the average user would probably not be effected by this at all.
I used to be able to go a very long period of time without breathing flawlessly, compared to now where I can barley mutter 4 sentences without a huge pain in my lungs , coughing and becoming light headed due to straining
I used to work in a vape shop so I am very informed on about almost everything to do with the stuff
I have tried many different variants of PG/VG , many different devices , flavours , nicotine and no nicotine and nothing has ever taken away the effect and I can only imagine it will get worse and worse so I have decided to quit
I made this post to see if anyone else who deals with vocal work has experienced similar effects over a long period of time
I still think vaping is an amazing alt and everyone should make the switch
This is not just a vaping story, but I think vaping is a part of it, so would like to share it.
When I was 57, I was obese and pathetically out of shape. I was about 240 lbs. (height: 5'7") and in a size 40 pants. I was smoking about 3 packs a day at that time.
I had to have my heart and lungs checked for a surgery because if diverticulitis.
The testing revealed that I had COPD, and had the lung capacity of a person with 1 lung. It also revealed that I had had a heart attack at some point.
I survived the surgery, but they informed me that if I did not quit smoking, start exercising, and lose weight, that I would not be around much longer.
After I recovered enough from the surgery I started walking. I could barely walk a single mile at a slow pace before feeling like I was going to die and had to lie down to recover. I kept doing it no matter how bad it felt, and I did it 2, 3, sometimes 4 times per day.
Eventually I could walk 2 miles at a faster pace, then 3 miles, then 5. It started actually feeling good. I got a fitness tracker that monitored my heart rate and pace, and started power walking at least once a day.
I vaped years before but fell off the wagon, so I decided to start vaping again. It took about 6 months to gradually smoke less and vape more until I was just vaping.
Eventually I could not keep my heart rate up enough from just power walking so I started running. I could only run for about 30 seconds at a slow pace at first, but I followed the same process as I did for walking, and worked my way up to being able to run 5 miles non stop.
the beginning of this year I completed a 12 week half marathon training program, and my final run for the program, I ran 13.57 miles.
I just turned 62 this month, have lost about 60 lbs., went from a size 40 to a size 32 pants, and have not smoked a cigarette in going on 3 years now.
My last stress test they told me that my heart had actually healed itself from the heart attack, and that it was strong and healthy now. I also had one of those tests where you blow into the plastic tube to see how strong your lungs are, and when I blew into it, the person said... "wow... you got some healthy lungs".
Also, my resting heart rate went from the high 80's to the mid 50's over the last 5 years. This means my heart is getting stronger because it can pump more blood per beat, and does not have to beat as many times per minute to pump the same amount of blood.
Like I said... this is not just a vaping story, but I think vaping has helped along the way.
Hi everybody,
Just a quick question I’m preety sure of the issue just want some advice.
Using my Pulse 24 RTA and all I can describe this as is inhaling a Bon fire.
Sometimes when I put the top back on after dripping I guess the cap is pushing to tight on the coil? Which will then glow red and just blow out hot disgusting smoke, which I normally clock and don’t inhale but today didn’t and literally was coughing my guts up for ages.
Question is what is actually doing this to the coil? Am I right the lid is to tight and anybody had this before.
Also anything to worry about inhaling the bonfire
Thanks People.
Well, hello again. I know I made 3 posts in 2 days and please tell me if it is bothering you
Do you have any 3D printing vaping related ideas?
Oh by the way haha I want to share a little story with you, don't read it if you don't want to
So I woke up one day and said to myself out of nowhere;
"Ima flippin vape"
I had no experience in vaping at all at the time, but I could at least do some stuff in engineering. (I'm double licensed in electronics and mechanics)
So I lit up a cigarette and began designing the body of the box mod. I had no idea how I was going to make it but basically, I was going to print the whole thing, including the atomizer (RDA style, I didn't even know it was called an RDA haha) but I had no resistance wire. So break the hairdryer, I did.
After a hell lotta designing and stuff, wrapping the wire around a piece of cotton, (yup) hooking the battery up, but... well... it was a drill battery, I'm talking about 12 volts.
I then bought some glycerin (100% VG) from the pharmacy, and all I was looking for were them fat clouds. Oh man, fat clouds did I get. But also the first vape hit in my life was a dry hit.
After coughing my lungs out, I looked at the cotton, obliterated it was.
Instead of reducing the voltage, I just threw like 10 more windings to it and since, it was the best vape I ever had somehow, ooh I also bought some flavouring and it just tasted like I was eating the real thing.
Then the plastic melted
