Hi all
would just like to share my new experience with you all.Just started doing single parallel coil build(24 kanthol,4-3wrap)and have to say its pretty good, the beauty about it being that I can keep it firing a bit longer than usual and get some nice clouds lol.Love this vaping, always something new to try ha.
An online vape shop here at Greece at the description for dotBox Dual Mech mod says"
"Switch to Parallel Mode for longer Vaping time and exceptional power from two 18650 batteries".
The dotbox dual mech has the option to select series or parallel connection via a switch.
I send them a email that this doesn't apply (for the same power output always),for example 0.1 ohm coil in parallel connection and 0.4 ohm coil in series connection.
Two batteries in series provide the same amount of watt hours a parallel connection does.
The vapeshop replied and told me that the description is copy and paste from Dotmod.com
Indeed.
QUOTE from dotBox Dual Mech - dotmodretail
"Last Longer. Switch to Parallel Mode for longer Vaping time and exceptional power from two 18650 batteries".
The vape shop also said that the voltage sag at parallel connection is spread out over the two batteries in Parallel. Thus more vaping time than using a series connection.
Okey I made the calculations for voltage sag using for example two Sony VTC5A 18650 batteries with a DC Internal Resistance = 18.6mOhms (0.018 ohm).
I got the same voltage sag 0.378 V in both configurations (0.1 build in parallel-0.4 build in series).
Am i correct or am I missing something?(i'll send to the vape shop the link for this thread so they can read your opinions because i think they believe i'm talking bulls..t!
I have tried this a couple of different ways in other threads, without really getting edumucated completely.
One more try. I generally consult that Power Chart 2.0 to identify safe vape ranges for different resistances.
Some say that those charts do not apply when there are two coils in parallel. I don't understand how. At the end of the day, the resistance is the resistance.
Anyway, is there a chart anywhere that can identify Safe vape ranges for different resistances - when the coil design is not single but dual, in parallel.
My clearo, by the way, is a dual coil Eleaf GS Air. I love what it does in the safe range, but when I occasionally cheat and push it up a bit, I Do get more vapor and flavor. But, I don't want to be doing it if it isn't safe. [aka firing hot enough to generate formaldehyde, etc.]
Eleaf says it is designed for 3.5v to 5.5v. But then again, any company citing specs is focused on selling, not necessarily my safety/health.
Anyone have a genuine factual answer?
so in my pursuit of vaping above 200 Watts I made a fuse 3x24ga gauge wrapped with 36 gauge and I tried three coils. it came out .07 I Vaped it at about 375 watts it was a hot vape but the ohms were very low so I had a problem with power my DNA 250c was reporting 65 amp output so I took that and put in dual fuse 22ga gauge wrapped with 36 gauge I ran that build triple coil I used it at about 250 Watts. what I am trying to do is vape at about 300 to 400 watts with an ohm or .2 to .3. the inner diameter will be 5.5 or 5 mm I'll be using the kanthal core wrapped with 36 gauge and ni80.I'm trying to figure out what my next bill should be to try to vape above 300 watts the restrictions I have is it can't be below point 1 ohm or above .3 ohm I have two aromamizer plus has with the series deck The parallel deck a second parallel deck and a single coil deck. The single coil deck fit 6.36 mm.
I also have the aromamizer titan.
What gauge would you Clapton?

I recently picked up an infinite origen v2, my first build was single coil 2.4mm and it was not good on flavor, next build was dual coil 2.4mm at .5ohms, it was better on flavor. No matter what single coil build I try the flavor is just not there. Any suggestions on great flavor builds???
What is your go to single coil build in terms of gauge wire, diameter, and number of wraps : (no fancy Clapton or twisted build just a "regular" wrap)
And if you have a reason please include it: For example: "I'm a flavor junkie and this is best flavor build I've found" or "I like short ramp up times" etc ...
(I know preferences may vary greatly)
Thank you very much

I haven't traveled since I started vaping so I really haven't thought about this. I'm on a business trip and staying at a fairly nice hotel. I've been running outside to vape and was thinking that I could possibly vape in my room.
Now I've never tested it but will the vapor set off the smoke alarm? I'm thinking that some smoke alarms are looking for a particulate amount which vapor would be just that. I really don't want to test that anyway since it wouldn't be a good thing as I am here for the next two weeks.
I tried vaping under the sheets but the clouds just don't seem to want to be contained. I'm thinking that the bathroom seems to be ok since they get steamy during a shower.
Anyone have experience with vape clouds and smoke alarms?
Imagine your self filling an RTA with fresh juice, only to have the worst vape you can endure as you cough up a lung. No its not a dry hit. Do you blame the juice or a clogged up coil? In this episode, I will take a short journey and explore to a better vape.
After a week of chain vaping, over 50ml of juice, a mix of 3mg and 6mg Nic, the rayon wick has finally given up and no longer produced a clean vape. After visual inspection, the coil and the wick has indeed had a significant build up from juice. To the point that I could no longer see wick material between a spaced coil.
After discarding old wicking material and cleaning the coil, i wicked an RTA with fresh Rayon and filled it with juice. My favorite tobacco juice has come a live, i can now take long and deep direct lung hits with enjoyment. My taste buds are intoxicated, as my lungs fill up with smooth and silky vapor with every inhale.
Keep an eye on your coil by visually inspecting it on daily basis. Trust your body and your taste buds when a juice no longer tastes as it should. Re-wicking your RTA/RDA on regular basis or every few days, will help you eliminate many concerns and issues that you might be having with juice flavor or vaping experience.
It only takes ten minutes to rewick, and in return you will continue to enjoy many hours and days of pleasurable vaping experience.
Good Night.
Hey guys, i have a mutation x v2 RDA on a sigelei 100w mod. I'm somewhat new to building, i'm not great, but im not terrible. I've been looking for an easy build that i get some good clouds and flavor on. BUT i want to be able to take nice long draws without drying out my wick too fast. I currently have 28g and 26g kanthal. Suggestions?
Hello everyone, i have a dark horse rda and its pretty nice but im looking to upgrade. I was thinking about a mutation v4 but ive read and seen its meant more for flavor. I love good flavor but prefer huge clouds and strong throat hit. Doesnt matter if its a clone or authentic. Would prefer if it was kept under 40 shipped, 50 is pushing it. TIA.
Well lately I have been wanting to do this :
what this is is basically is a starter kit . I only had one of these once which lasted a few days , after I rebuilt the coil head with 24 gauge and because the battery didnt have protection , it shorted out and that was it . So i bought another one of these , coil heads and some e-liquid as well . Personally I love vaping these at my house because they are nice and small and go well with jazz but idk its just something about the feeling when you vape on these things that makes it special . I think some of you know me , I have a **** load of other mods and atties but this and I am one of the few who started vaping on a mechanical mod with an RDA without ever getting a starter kit .
