Hi guys!
I hope everyone is having a great Mothers' Day!
As I plan my outings for the warmer weather, I'm thinking about how I'll get my vape on while off-the-grid. I've been vaping almost a year. Last season, I hit the trails with a few EGO twists, a VV v3, a couple of EVODS and a Protank2 w/AFC; all powered by a 6000mAh solar power bank. I've been rebuilding the Kanger heads almost since day one. Since moving to RTAs & RDAs, the idea of living with EVODS & a PT2 is not exciting.
Here are my choices for kit thus far:
6000 mAh Solar Power Bank
20W iStick
30W iStick
2 30W Hana Clones
iTaste VTR
VAMO v3
VAMO v5 7.4v box mod
1:1 Erlk Clone (my favorite)
1:1 KFL+v2 Clone
Various EVODS and a PT2 w/AFC
IGO L
Veritas clone
Plume Veil clone
With the goal of keeping things simple, compact and light; I'm thinking the solar power bank and 2 iSticks will be the foundation for my kit. I don't want to deal with builds gone bad while on the trail, so my RTAs & RDAs will remain home. That leaves me looking for a couple of new atomizers.
I'm told Eleaf's GS Air series are quite good for standard clearos and their heads don't seem any more difficult to rebuild than Kanger's. The GS Air M and/or MS seem to be ideal for this use. They're also <$10 each, so I wouldn't be thoroughly pissed if disaster would strike.
What do you guys think? What are YOU using for off-the-grid trailblazing?
I'm just glad I wasn't vaping 20 years ago when I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. What a nightmare that would have been...
Thanks!
A week ago I have bought Bou 30W which is a clone of iStick 30.
Bou 30W Style Variable Wattage Box Mod Black
On page of Angelsigs it is written it can go from 2W to 30W, and it is a lie. I hoped it is improved version of iStick, but seems it has the same circuit in. It starts only from 5 W, and quite often I like to vape at lower wattages (you know, to suck on pacifier without really spending any juice). And it is a bit too small to be comfortable. Vamo is still better, and I can just replace batteries instead of charging the whole device (where are phones with replaceable battery?)
Otherwise it feels very sturdy, buttons are solid, battery life is good. I have not used iStick, but think there is practically no difference.
So I can't figure out were to order an authentic plume veil, or what a good website to order one from, but Iv been hearing things were the machining on them has been very poor and that's not good, but if you guys have an opinion on the best clone they have that would be great too, but I do like authentics thanks guys!
For all you brainiacs and problem solvers out there. I've just recieved my Hcigar DNA 50 Hana Modz Clone from our friends at Fasttech. Overall it seems like a niece piece for the price. I've only really one issues with it which is as follows. The voltage read out is fairly accurate up to 40w but can't seem to go higher than 6.4v all the way up to 50w. 50w should read at 7.07v given the below build.
I'm currently using purple efest 3100mah batts with a 1ohm dual coil on a plume veil.
Is it that the display is faulty, (doubt this), I need higher drain batts (probably not as not pushing the amp limit here), or simply just that it's a clone and the chip isn't all the way up to the job?
I'm leaning towards the last one but can't complain, as an (essentially) 40w mod for the price is pretty flippin good!
Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
Cheers folks!
Hey guys, new to the forum, new to vaping, second thread. I have a few questions pertaining to mod clone companies, a-mod (wotofo?), infinite, tobeco. Im wanting to get a magma clone, I have a local vape shop and they sell them on sale as of this moment for $15, its made by tobeco though, are they a reputable company, do they make good things? From what I can see everyone seems to say really good things about infinite, but are these others good? They also have a Sir Lancelot copper mech mod for $30 made my a-mod, not tobeco. I wanted to go and pick these items up today, but with a little insight, any help would be appreciated, thanks!
EDIT: Yes I realize Im talking about two specific products here, that being the RDA and a mech mod, but Im really just curious about the quality and whether or not these other clone companies are reputable, so I made the decision to post this thread in 'Gerneral Vaping Discussion'.

Or maybe even a heretic, or a blasphemer?
I like mini tanks and small batteries. My favorite setups are mini protank version 1 clones with 650mah basic ego style batteries. Stainless steel finish, no funky colors or designs. Single bottom coil on the tanks, no air flow controls. Standard voltage batteries, no twisty things on the bottom, no usb passthrough, no digital displays, just a battery. I like the ego style because the protruding button is easier to find and helps keep them from rolling around. The lack of features I don't need means the batteries are small. I like small, sleek, simple.
I have a nice big fancy Smok vv/vw battery. If I cut my juice in half with VG I can blow some massive clouds without knocking myself out. I found this to be mildly amusing for a short period of time. I also found out that with my regular mix when I dialed around for the "sweet spot" I ended up at 3.7 volts...
The mini tanks don't hold a day's worth of juice, and the 650mah batteries don't last all day. So what? Tank gets low, twist it off and pop another on. Battery light flashes, same thing. I've got a battered old EGO case from my first starter kit, it holds four tanks and batteries and a bottle of juice with room to spare.
I got my first mini pro tank from a vape shop. I just assumed it was a Kanger, but there was no mention of Kangertech anywhere on the packaging or tank. Whatever, I really liked it. I figured the real deal would be even better so I ordered one online. Kanger had discontinued the version 1, so I bought the "new, improved" version 2. It was good, but I liked the clone version 1 better. The clone tanks are polycarbonate rather than pyrex, but I don't vape plastic eating flavors, so that's a non-issue.
Now I'm not knocking all the cloud chasing, coil winding, wick trimming gear heads that seem to dominate these forums, but if there's anybody else out there who enjoys vaping with a nice, simple, inexpensive setup, I'd like to hear from you.
Got home from work and was stoked to see a package from seven vapes containing my smpl clone and derringer rda clone. What a clean compact combo. Did a five wrap 24 gauge which read .31 on meter. Loving the results. I've been slipping up and smoking cigs the past few days. All 7 roommates (live in a recovery house) smoke so the temptation is real. I think this one will finally get me off the sticks. One can only hope
I have spent nothing on vaping in the last 7 months but now I am thinking about buyin a spare to spare for my Vamo 5 (to keep one at home and one at work). I am very satisfied with my Vamo it worked perfectly for 8 months. I use it with 18360 battery, so it is not too long, fits perfectly in hand and after continuous use for 8 months it is still as good as a new one. But I do know it will go bad sooner or later, I have to be prepared. I was thinking about buying just another Vamo (may be Vamo 7), but then wondered if I would like to try a box mod. What if I would like it? And if not, I do need one more spare anyway.
So far I am thinking about Cloupor Mini 30W.
Authentic Cloupor Mini 30W Variable Wattage / Voltage VW VV APV Box Mod
Would you recommend it? Is it comfortable enough? Is it too small (to fit in hand)? Comfort and reasonable longevity are the most important thing for me. For example, I have found in Cloupor description Magnet back cover, no need to use screwdriver, more. It is very important for me; I could not imagine myself walking around with a screwdriver in case I have to replace a battery. What other mods (if any) should I consider? I do not need more than 30W, please do not advise me on more powerful mods unless they have some extremely useful features beyond their power. And I do not want to spend more money than necessary for a spare.
But maybe I will be still buying a new Vamo 7. Do somebody have hands on experience with this one?
Heya all! So its almost summer time again and i kinda want to use it camping/fishing. Now i have a question as i use sigelei dual 18650 boxmod and vape pretty much as its last me only one day with two batts. I could buy 4 extra batteries but still need to charge mobile phones. And my question is, would it be enough with 14w solar panel to charge atleast two batts in one go plus charge mobile phone in a not so slow time. Or its better to grab like 4 10k mah powerbanks from gearbest and extra 18560batts for e cig?
I cant find any good info where would be explained how fast these panels charge nor any other info that i would understand. I was thinking to buy xtar vc4 charger and somethine like 15W 6 Panels Outdoor Foldable Portable Solar Charger Pack Mobile Power Supply for Samsung Galaxy S6 S4 i9500 S5 i9600 S3 i9300 Note 3 N9000 Note 2 N7100 iPad iPhone 6 / 6 Plus 4 4S 5 5S 5C HTC ONE M9-65.27 and Free Shipping| GearBest.com
or
SUNWALK-140 14W Outdoor Foldable Portable Solar Charger Pack Mobile Power Supply for Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 S5 i9600 S3 i9300 Note 3 N9000 Note 2 N7100 iPad iPhone 6 / 6 Plus 4 4S 5 5S 5C HTC Nokia S-69.23 and Free Shipping| GearBest.com
Would it be possible to charge two ctv4's and atleast one mobile phone in a day, if its clear sun for atleast 4 hrs and other cloudy/partialy sunny? And if so, what splitters or something i need to be able to connect mobile phones/charger as i lack english to properly search for that kind of info.
Thank you!
A friend of mine who smoked for 30 years wanted me to help her get set up for something reliable for vapor. She's tried in the past with eGO setups and didn't like it. Leaks, frustration, broken glass tanks, etc.
I rebuild a lot, so what I use isn't ideal for someone totally new to the game.
I suggested an iStick 30 and subtank mini. Seems to be a decent balance of cost, power, and option to rebuild in the future. She doesn't want external batteries, chargers, or any other expensive hassle.
Any of you try to ease someone into vaping recently with all the new higher power hardware out? What worked well, what didn't work well?
Hey. As the post states Im trying to decide what online store to buy my next purchases from. Im looking at buying a few different things. It is basically a new start into the world of rebuilding. Both RTA and RDA. Maybe a regulated device or mech mod, but Im more concerned with tanks and attys. I also need to purchase a few rebuilding tools.
Here is what I have so far and where Im headed:
Already have Kanthal A-1 26 and 29 gauge wire. Also have Koh Gen Do Cotton. Also have tweezers, clippers, pliers, scissors, etc. Basic stuff. My setup is iStick 30w and Nautilus Minis.
Looking to get:
1 or 2 RTA's (almost certain on Kanger Subtank Mini)
1 or 2 RDA's (possibly Magma)
Coil Jig, Screwdrivers, spare parts such as o-rings, etc
Any other useful things not already listed. Not opposed to authentic or clones. But im not gonna spend a small fortune
As far as websites are concerned Ive looked at Fasttech and Focalecig alot. Leaning towards Fastech but really dont want to wait a month ...
ANY HELP WITH BEST WEBSITES AND GEAR WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.
Thank you guys always
