Stupid Question: Is A Mechanical Mod One That Has No Soldered Wires ?.....

Like the subject states is that correct ? And a wooden box mod that does have soldered wires and only uses let's say an 18650 battery to fire roughly 3.7 volts would not be a mechanical mod right ?

Coil Question?

Can someone help explain : why thicker wires (lower gauge) since they have less resistance why would they take longer to heat up ? One (me) would think the lower resistance would make heating up quicker- where am I going wrong ?

Thx.

Mechanical Mod Mayhem?

So with unrestricted mechanical mods, how does one know how many watts, volts, and amps being applied through ohms law? Is it solely the voltage charge of the battery installed that will determine everything else because of how ohms law works?

Wanting To Turn My Squid Industries V2 To Mechanical

Hey everyone I'm fabricating my old beat up Squid Industries V2, on another post.

Any ideas on how to make it mechanical? If I could do variable voltage that'd be awesome, or have a limiter for volts or something.

What Is A "stupid" Question U Always Wanted To Know ? Vaping Six Years And 1 Or My Many Is Below..

Preferably the questions will be from vapers with the minimum amount of experience vaping being 6 months/preferably a year or more . What's a question that even a newbie or anybody might know but you never got around to knowing it or understanding it for yourself and now want to know.

I'll start it off : I've been vaping 6 years and I "failed out battery university".

What the heck does a "high drain" battery mean ?

Preparing For The Vapocalypse

With a nearly full scale banishment on electronic devices being a real possibility, I'm looking into stocking up to sustain myself for at least a while. I have a few questions and I'm sure others so as well and thought a thread on the subject could prove useful.

First, nicotine. What is the better, longest lasting base to get with nicotine VG or PG ? And I assume freezing is the optimal preservation method?

Secondly, equipment. Obviously full mechanical mods are the best bet for long term, heavy duty use... But what is the best material between stainless steel, copper, brass, etc (for a combination of longevity and low maintenance)? What is the best material for the contacts?

What about regulated mods? I would love to own a parallel 18650 mod that could stand the test of time. Are there any that have a very simple design on the inside that could be easily fixed (wires coming loose or chip needing replaced etc)?

Then, finally, atomizers. Is the best course of action just to find your favorite and buy a high quantity or are there RTAs and RBAs out there that are built to last and are constructed with quality materials that could last years with good care?

Thanks for anyone's advice/experience in advanced, and feel free to use this thread to ask related questions yourself.

Been Away From Vaping For A Couple Years. Need A New Mechanical Mod

i've been a away from vaping for a while and i'm sure stuff has changed. i recently dug out my joye 510 stuff and have really liked it again over analogs. either way looking for a new mechanical mod around 50-60 bucks preferably with a 510 connector and can accommodate a vision mini nova. also one that will take a 18650 batt. doesn't have to but since i still have a few 18350 batts laying around i wouln't mind something that also will take the shorter batts as well.

Why Are All Mods Made Like Crap?

Wismec 3 Battery? No good. Breaks within a year without dropping. Replicated on two mods.

Wismec 2/3 mod? Yet again, poor manufacturing. Wires not soldered properly. Almost lasted a year.

Squid Industries Double-Barrel? Craps out after 1 month without any damage. Wont turn on.

GeekVape Aegis Legend? 2 months and not reading the batteries right. Never so much as tipped over on my desk.

SMOK? Had more than I can count or bother to recall the exact models, but every one busted within a year.

None of them seem true to their warranties either. They make it as tedious a process as possible. I haven't tried with the Aegis Legend yet, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's probably more of the same.

At this point, I am convinced that I have spent more money on mods than I have on juice. These mods are all made like crap. I don't want to spend $80 every few months to get a new mod. I just want to vape for gods sake.

Has anyone had a mod that has lasted them over a year? What kind was it? I've asked this before and that's what led me to the Double-Barrel and the Aegis Legend. Both have failed on me even sooner than my previous attempts.

Mechanical Mods???

So me and my frwinds usually end up getting the same build, not because we're trying to fit in but because we are all trying to get something better. Unfortunately I'm sort of bored with that whole gig and my newest eye candy has become mechanical mods, however I don't know that much about them nor what the best one on the market is, at least below $100 that is. Any ideas/tips??

Thinking of buying one of these for my Nemesis, what do you think of them?

Help! Need Some New Suggestions.

I have been vaping since December 28th, 2009. The problem is that when I find something I like and that works for me, I tend not to keep up to date with the new fangled contraptions. For example, I vaped with a joyetech evod battery for over 6 years, until I found a battery that could be plugged in the bottom while I used it. I used that battery up until about 2 years ago when I decided to branch out and I tried the Joyetech Cubis Max. Yes, it had it faults, and I constantly had to carry tissues with me because it leaked around the top. However, I was fine with this because I really enjoyed the flavor, and the kanthal wires were cheap (roughly $1 for 4 days use). But now I cannot find those parts anywhere.

Basically what I am needing: I like to vape around 18.5 wattage. I also need the upkeep to be inexpensive. I am on a very fixed income (783/mo). I would prefer the system to be easy to use. I did try to the cubis pro system and could not figure out how to cut the cotton and fit it around the atomizer, if this indicates my level of technical knowhow.

anyway, thank you for advance,
Autumn
