So this is a hypothetical Question... And I by no means wanna start a flame war.... or anything like that.
I just have a hypothetical for you guys who I have seen claiming they only Vape where they could smoke people. ( I am not taking sides here, as I usually only vape where I can smoke, but make some exceptions that I wont get in to here, as, Again, Not posting to cause trouble.)
I know a lot of users are Western world people but, there are some users that are international as well, such as me.
Lets say you really want a Vape, and your in, (Most common) An international Airport or something on your ridiculously long daytime layover, Or you ended up in the airport really early... or.. we could also say your in an amusement park or something.
Your options.
Vape in places where you cant smoke, such as inside the airport, or in a random place in the amusement park...(Maybe by stealth vaping)
Or go in to the often crowded 1x3 meter (If that), poorly ventalated Smokers room where all the others are smoking, and endure the noxious smell of various types of cigarettes stick to you, as you breath in air that is more toxic than car exhaust.
Not all people have the same conditions. a lot of places have rules that you are not allowed to smoke outside.
Do you still only vape where you can smoke, Thereby nullifying some of the health benefits of Vaping? Or does health play a more important role than the rules and perception.
Again, I am not trying to play a side here, or start a flaming war (Ill probably just ask the thread be deleted if it turns to that)
I am just wondering if your mind would be changed if you lived in a different situation and why?
I know this is kind of a strange question but I see people say all the time that they set off their smoke and CO2 alarms. Who has a smoke CO2 alarm that they can Vape in the next room and it doesn't set off I need to get another detector but I want to make sure that it's not going to go off every time I Vape in a room next to it a battery-powered not hardwired
just feeling harrased for vaping in public. I have no choice but to vape in public since im basicly staying at a hospital right now in cali with .y husband. He has some health issues and we were flown down here. Anyways Im a very polite vaper or I try to be. I go where no one else is and o done blow it at people. Im not trying to force anything on anyone but people give me dirty looks and say "theres no smoking" say that in ur most annoying voice btw lol. Its funny sometimes people cough cus they dont see its vapor. So its kinda funny people are subconsciously choking on smoke thats not there. Best smelling smoke ive ever smelled! Anyway let me know if any of you have experienced this. Thanks for letting me vent a little.
Sooo.
I lost my sigelei 150 watt at the airport in taiwan before security.
Noticed it was missing after security (early morning flight, hadnt slept, was on the phone, doing too much at once i suppose)
Anyways, tried to figure out how to get it back by going back out through security.... But apparently, that was impossible, and no one spoke english, so I got super ...agitated... and before I blew up at the next person, I went in to the smoke room and bummed a smoke off some dude. (Cuz i was seriously agitated at this point). Dont get me wrong, i had had a few puffs post vape, but this is the first real full smoke I had. I am not posting this because ive worked myself up in to some guilt trip because I failed myself, I dont really care in that respect...I dont regret having one, because I might have ended up ... doing something bad at a foreign airport out of sheer annoyance and frustration.
Anyways, I remember, when I first started vaping, there was always ...something missing. Something...no there that was there with cigarettes.
Now, The cigarette, Burning my eyes and tasting terrible, and leaving a smell on my fingers that lasted for hours ...all that aside... There is now something missing with cigarettes.
If I had to name something... I would say that the wattage in the cigarette seems too low... or the ohms too high.... Or both, Kinda kidding, but its like that feeling... That coupled with the fact that the airflow is not enough and unfortunately, its not adjustable.... And... I kept trying to draw like i do with my vape, long and slow.... and no... i could only manage short pulls.
The point... Is I just find it weird that I definitely felt something was missing when I started vaping... Something wasnt there, but now, when I went back to smoking, Its like... everything is missing.
Needless to say, the remaining 12 hours of my journey home and to my house from the airport, I didnt crave a cigarette at all.
BUT MAN, when I got home... DID I EVER CHAIN VAPE!
On the upside, I already rebought the Sigelei, This time in Red, And stuck on Mechs till it gets here.
As an ex-smoker, I feel that smokers were discriminated against. My city even had some stupid law about not being allowed to smoke outside in certain areas. This is of course the same city that attempted to ban large sized Coca-Cola and other sodas.
Now, since I'm vaping, I often now vape in places where it would not be possible to smoke an analog cig.
For all of those times when I wanted to light up an analog before, and couldn't, now I can, thanks to vaping.
I find myself sneaking vapes in many different sorts of places now, simply because I feel like it, and because I can!
Does anybody else find themselves sneak vaping in various locations?
Has anybody ever stealth vaped on an airline flight before? I remember when cigarettes were allowed on airline flights. I think that vaping should definitely be allowed on flights, and that airlines should change their current rules.
Basically, I'm not going to stand for vaping to be discriminated against in the same way that cigs and cig smokers have been demonized for ages now, and I believe that vaping should be allowed practically everywhere.
So I'm a 19 year old guy, started smoking when I was 14 and finally quit cigarettes 3 months ago. My parents like that I quit smoking but they think vaping some sort of gateway drug that will make me want to, and I quote, "smoke {OTHER STUFF}". What I don't understand is that both of my parents both smoke a pack a day. I even tried to convince them to switch to vaping but they said they don't want to smoke that "{OTHER STUFF} device". Even when I vape in my room, they come in and get pissed off because they're tired of smelling my "fruity {MODERATED}". How can I convince them to get a better understanding of vaping and potentially start them on it too?
I get so frustrated with people and trying to keep them informed.. I am Sick of hearing , "Wow thats a lot of Smoke" Or Go take your Smoke break" and calling it smoking flat out! I get sick of repeating my self ... Finally my Mother Inlaw has gotten the language down.. Vape shop not smoke shop and vapor not smoke, I wish others would finally get it! Anyone else having this issue??
At my job, some times i have to spend time in close proximity, with people who still smoke analogs. And the analog smoke that they carry on them is plain offensive.
I just want to run in the apposite direction, so the smell (smoke BO) doesnt get on me.
Wish i could tell them to take anti radioactive bath before they interact with the rest of the none smokers in public.
I cant believe thats how i used to smell for so many years. If i knew this 10 years ago, i would have quit smoking 10 years ago.
The smell is is just efin toxic!!
end rant.
hey All,
I joined here several months ago. Posted that I had done e-cigs for march to about June and then switched back to traditional and came back here for support and knowledge which I have received in spades here.thanks.
32 days ago I came down with low grade fever, 100.5 at most slights aches and fatigue..nothing major but certainly not ordinary. At the time I was back to 10-15 traditional cigs per day. But with the fever and fatigue I immediately stopped tradtional cigs--as I thought it could be Covid and honestly had no desire.
Turns out it was NOT Covid and in the 32 days I have had a total of 3 puffs from an e-cig in my desk drawer. I'm otherwise back to normal and only slightly crave a hit of e-cig and I know can use it I need it but the cravings only are short.
I think one part of this is with Covid and being in NYC--I'm not on the streets as much and I never see hardly anyone smoke or even vape. I do go to an office 4 days a week and the walk to the office is 12 minutes. And like a normal city--pre covid you'd always see people outside having a smoke or a vape and enjoying themselves and for me that's what kind of drove the cravings and addiction. now when I come home from work, I don't have a craving need.
After 32 days without a traditional cig and only 3 puffs of an e-cig --does that happen to people? In my head I have committed that I will be a non traditional cig smoker and if I need the e-cigs I'm fine with that. There is a slight concern that if we ever get back to normal and I " see" people smoke that might bring it back..who knows? Hopefully I am far along enough now that it wont' effect me. In fact I saw a bke messenger smoking at a stop light yesterday and just looking at the traditional cig kind of grossed me out. so maybe that's a good sign?
The benefits so far a my apartment and clothes smell normal. I have more energy and can breath better.
Maybe for me (and others) the visual appeal or or just seeing others enjoy a cigarette was part of the addiction?
I live on the East Coast USA.
Walking down the street, it's hard to notice that vaping is taking off in any meaningful way, because most people that I see still smoke analogs, that includes both young people and older people too. I'm not going to judge them, because it wasn't that long ago that I was still puffing on an analog, and I had failed to see the awesomeness of vaping.
Besides myself, I don't really see too many people vaping outside on sidewalks. I vape outside in the same way that I'd smoke analogs before, so that means practically all of the time, and especially when I'm walking outside. I'm using a thin e-cig, so I don't usually get too many strange looks. I can imagine what kind of looks somebody walking down the sidewalk must get if they're using one of those big, fancy and shiny looking mods to vape with.
Just 6 months ago, there were no vape shops at all in the immediate local area where I live, and now there are 4 that have opened up, all within a very short walking distance of me (10 minutes or less). I'm pretty sure that a lot of non vapers who live here are walking past those stores every day and wondering, what the hell kind of store is that and why are so many of them opening up in this neighborhood?
One of those four stores will probably fail though, because their sign says tobacco/vape store, while the other 3 are dedicated to vaping only. A store can't be both in my opinion. That's a bit of a contradiction and a stupid combination to put it bluntly.
I've been to a couple of the vape stores so far, and in the short time that I was in those stores there were always new customers there who were smokers who were looking to start vaping.
So while I might not notice how popular vaping is by walking on the sidewalks, I think that it's safe to say that vaping is taking off big time with so many small vape shops opening up, and the amount of people vaping will only increase, because there's still a lot of smelly smokers out there who haven't yet given up on their cancer sticks.
And if this is happening where I live, then I bet that similar things are happening all across the country. Every small town should have at least one dedicated vape shop! I like the quick and easy access to all sorts of liquids and brands.
Just today, I was reading online about some premium liquids, and instead of ordering it online (I didn't want to wait), I had acquired a bottle of that exact liquid five minutes later, after sampling it quickly, and I was already at home and vaping it 10 minutes later.
If people under a certain age are not allowed to purchase vape items, then what's the issue?
Just don't sell to any minors, and handle it like alcohol and tobacco. Go after any stores or vendors that break these rules and that sells to any minor and hit them with hefty fines or prosecution. Problem solved.
I reject the idiotic, false and unscientific argument that certain types of flavors are only suitable for kids. An adult is not allowed to like fruit flavors or desert flavors or any other type of flavor?
Do adults suddenly lose their sense of taste when they age, and they'll be content vaping poor tobacco imitation flavors and menthol for the rest of their lives?
I'm an adult, and my favorite flavors are custard type flavors. Just because I used to smoke, that doesn't mean that I should have to vape and like tobacco flavors. You don't ban all sorts of flavors and deny adults who are ex-smokers the opportunity to continue to be smoke free, just because they were lucky enough to have found and switched to vaping.
Sorry if I sound cynical, but so what if a handful of people have reportedly died because they were foolish enough to use blackmarket counterfeit items? Items that have zero to do with nic based vaping I should add.
How many millions of people die from tobacco related diseases?
Millions is a lot more than a handful last I checked, and the only thing that banning vaping and vaping related items will accomplish is to ensure that many more people will be added to the list of the dead as many will return to cigs and many current cig smokers will never make the switch to vaping, as the politicians seek to deny people the opportunity to stay off of cigs.
If they ever find a cure for cancer, I wouldn't be surprised if they ban that too, because 7 people happened to get some ill side effects from it.
