I've had this Vamo v4 for 3 months and it's been great until yesterday. It says "short" on the display.
I have tried several different coils, I have cleaned it really well. Is the pin not touching, or do I need to reset it somehow?
It will give me 2 or 3 vapes and then say short until I try a new coil, then it does it again.
HELP! I am stuck with an old ego until I can fix this problem and I want my nice clouds back
Thank you for any ideas.
I have been having an issue where when I screw in any kind of tank, my vamo 4 reads "SHORT" and "LOW LOAD." I have made really nice coils to no avail. Someone at a store told me to just turn up the voltage - worked for a bit but then didn't.
Someone on here, when I posted about it, said to get something to wiggle the pin out a mm or two because it has been "crushed" with the insulator. Did that. Worked for a bit, back to SHORT and LOW LOAD.
SO, I need to buy a new one. I have a few different pv's, but this is a favorite because of its variable voltage. Is there a place (online) where I can buy just the piece I need? Attached is a pic of the faulty hardware...
So I just got my Geekvape Zeus. When I try to use it I get a "short circuit" error. Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it? I tried screwing it in tighter and looser and nothing works.
I took some of the advice from you guys and got some high quality batteries for my Voopoo Drag X and chucked the ones I got from the local vape store. Everything is working fine now. Why would good batteries stop the "atomizer short" message?
I found this semi-old spool of kanthal in my drawer that was unopened, I threw out the packaging so I don't remember what it the company was but it was something along the lines of "Tuff #24 galvanized kanthal resistance wire" but I built a couple of coils and they all short, I've tried it on 3 diff attys and still shorts, I made sure its not touching any other metal or anything. It was a dirty but i washed it with soap and water and its not grimy or greasy from machine oil but parts of it aren't shiny like wire is supposed to be they're gray-blackish. Is that causing the problem.
Just picked up a Vamo 7, 40w, and cannot figure out how to lock the wattage settings. Currently, if the + or - button is accidentally pushed, wattage increases or decreases which can lead to a surprising vape!
I push + or - to increase/decrease wattage
I push both + and - at the same time, it goes into "settings." In "settings," there are several sub-menus but none of them lock the wattage.
Some Vamo's lock the settings when pushing + and - at the same time for three seconds. Not this one. If I hold down both the + and - at the same time, it goes into settings mode.
Is there a way to lock in the wattage so it cannot be accidentally changed?
Thanks!!!
What is your go to single coil build in terms of gauge wire, diameter, and number of wraps : (no fancy Clapton or twisted build just a "regular" wrap)
And if you have a reason please include it: For example: "I'm a flavor junkie and this is best flavor build I've found" or "I like short ramp up times" etc ...
(I know preferences may vary greatly)
Thank you very much

I guess it's been about 1 to 1 1/2 years since I've been in here. Life got busy for me.
I've been happy with the Vamo V2 and Aspire dual coil Davide setup I run. So I really wasn't chasing "the next new thing". But WOW how things have changed in a year and a half or so. Now everyone is using box mods with sub ohm factory coils, or twin stack coils.
Aspire seems to have made a name for themselves, and there seems to be a bunch of new suppliers getting in the ring. Along with the old reliable ones such as Kanger, it seems there is a whole lot of selections out there.
I feel like a newbe all over again.
I guess I'm just going to have to sit back, read a few threads, and do some catching up.
Y'all have fun!!
Howdy friends of the clouds,
can anyone help with this?
I use a aspire skystar mod with freemax double mesh coils now again after a long time.
The skystar mod has a preheat option - just "soft", "normal" and "hard".
How do these differerent settings affect coils life? What is the benefit?
Much appreciated!
P.S. I am back to vaping from today, my parcel just arrived. Let's do something for our health. Will miss those cigs but...gootta be more responsible, I am almost 25 now. But why....anyway. I need a diary probably.
I have spent nothing on vaping in the last 7 months but now I am thinking about buyin a spare to spare for my Vamo 5 (to keep one at home and one at work). I am very satisfied with my Vamo it worked perfectly for 8 months. I use it with 18360 battery, so it is not too long, fits perfectly in hand and after continuous use for 8 months it is still as good as a new one. But I do know it will go bad sooner or later, I have to be prepared. I was thinking about buying just another Vamo (may be Vamo 7), but then wondered if I would like to try a box mod. What if I would like it? And if not, I do need one more spare anyway.
So far I am thinking about Cloupor Mini 30W.
Authentic Cloupor Mini 30W Variable Wattage / Voltage VW VV APV Box Mod
Would you recommend it? Is it comfortable enough? Is it too small (to fit in hand)? Comfort and reasonable longevity are the most important thing for me. For example, I have found in Cloupor description Magnet back cover, no need to use screwdriver, more. It is very important for me; I could not imagine myself walking around with a screwdriver in case I have to replace a battery. What other mods (if any) should I consider? I do not need more than 30W, please do not advise me on more powerful mods unless they have some extremely useful features beyond their power. And I do not want to spend more money than necessary for a spare.
But maybe I will be still buying a new Vamo 7. Do somebody have hands on experience with this one?
I am really liking these skins.
They look good and they give a better grip than the straight stainless.
Most of them look kinda hokey but there are a few that look really nice.
