Lung Hits At 6mg-12mg Or Mouth To Lung At 30mg - Why Such Big Diff. ?

Hey all,

I've always vaped a high nic concentration. Probably since I started in somewhat of the early days 6 years ago at least and the equipment sucked so the high nic levels kinda offset the equipment. Vape 30mg.

I recently got an atty with a big airhole so I was able to go sub ohm at like
.5ohm at 20-30 watts at my normal 30mg+ nic. Holy **** - it kicked my ***!!! I had to drank a gallon of water after 1 in a half hits.

Do any of you guys notice such a big difference in nicotine amounts when switching vaping styles. When I mouth to lung I only take in maybe a quarter of the actual vapor that's produced- but I use like 30mg+ of nic. But I really like the throat hit the high nic amounts provide.

What are your experiences ? Am I crazy with having to use 30mg+ for my normal mouth to lung vaping style.

Lower Nicotine When Doing Lung Hits?

So I've been mouth to lung vaping since I started vaping. Started at 24 mg with the Halo Triton and when I upgraded to the iStick and the Nautilus I lowered my nicotine down to 15 mg. It's been fine.......getting enough nicotine so I don't crave analogs, not getting too much nicotine so that I start feeling sick. Throat hit has been fine and not uncomfortable.

Yesterday I started doing lung hits with the iStick and the Nautilus and with the greater amount of vapor I can produce, I stepped the nicotine down to 12 mg since I also started to get a little lightheaded (I suppose with the greater amount of vapor I am also taking in more nicotine, even though nicotine absorption through the lungs is not supposed to be as good as through the mouth and nose). The juice that I am using is also a 70VG/30PG mix as compared to the 50/50 I was vaping before. However this morning I woke up with an irritated throat and the vape (even when switching back to mouth to lung) feels more harsh.

Do I need to step down the nicotine level even more to 6 mg? Is this normal when going from mouth to lung to direct lung hits? I'm not subohming, so I didn't expect that I would need to drop it down that much. I'm afraid that if I drop it down too much, then I'm going to have more cravings and will need to vape constantly.

Mouth To Lung To Lung To Ear To Mouth

I enjoy vaping in the following way:

2. Lung to lung
3. Lung to mouth to lung back into mouth through left nostril
4. Mouth to right nostril back to mouth to lung to left nostril
5. Lung to mouth back to lung
6. Lung to lung to lung back to mouth through left nostril out right ear into mouth back to lung (personal fav)

Cough Too Much... Should I Change To 100% Vg?

Hi guys, i started vaping a couple of weeks ago, i quit smoking like 5 years ago, i tried a cigarette after i quit maybe once in a while probably 1 every year , and i never coughed, well i started vaping and i noticed if i do lung hits i cough, if i do mouth to lung hit i cough, if i do mouth hits i barely cough but still do sometimes, so does that means im allergic to PG and i should switch to 100% VG? or could be im still not used to vaping?

Please tell me based on your experience...

Aspire Atlantis Help, Is My Technique Wrong?

Hey guys,

I originally posted this in the hardware specific section but haven't gotten any love so here goes...

I have been off real cigs for a few months now which I'm super happy about, no desire to go back. I kicked the habit with the aspire K1 Ego tanks and since upgraded to Nautilus mini which I enjoy, I'm primarily mouth to lung hitter. In between the two tanks I was sold an Atlantis by a local B&M, the guy said most buy a Nautilus mini then upgrade to Atlantis anyway so he said it would save money. I couldn't really get into it taking lung hits and still really don't enjoy it but am wondering if my technique is off?

I tried 12mg juice in there and it was really rough, I've since dropped my nicotine to 6mg across the board, and tried that in the Atlantis, it gives a harsh mouth and throat feel if I try to lung hit, I also get the same experience if I use 0mg juice. I've tried MtL hits and it doesn't really produce any vapor. Attempting lung hits I've tried all wattages from 15-30W with same results, also I keep the airflow all the way open. I try and inhale deep and quick thinking more airflow might 'dilute' the vapor and make it feel less harsh. Also this is Atlantis1, and I've only tried max or 100%VG juice.

What technique/settings do you guys use and what should it really feel like doing lung hits on this tank? When he sold me the tank I used it once in the shop and it felt very very smooth on the inhale and smooth on the exhale as well as very dense and tasty and pleasant, for the life of me I can't replicate it. Alternatively, is there a tank or RBA/RTA/RDA I can try for MtL hits that will produce that really dense vapor feel?

TIA for your help, I know it probably sounds like a newbie question lol 'how do I use my tank' but I am stuck!

What's The Best Coil To Get For Mouth To Lung Vaping, Voopoo Drag X.

At Element Vape, there are about 10 kinds of coils listed that fit the Voopoo drag x. I'm not sure which one to get but I like mouth to lung vaping so if someone could assist me, I'd appreciate it.

Also, if I am using the device for mouth to lung vaping, am I supposed to keep the air hole open, closed or halfway? Thank you in advance.

Subtank @ 13 W .9 Ω - What's Your Setup?

I am running my Kanger Subtank mini rba deck on .9 ohm (spaced 4 wrap 28awg IIRC) at 13 watts and it is cloudy and flavorful. The OCCs were fine but I prefer the rba I think (even though I'm still a bit of a build novice). Many others seem to run it at 25+ watts and lower resistance. I had it at .5 Ω and ~19 watts was good, had dry hits above 23 watts. Now have dry hits above 15 watts at .9 Ω. I'm still playing around, but this current build/wattage is working awesome.

Other important factors:
Tobacco and vanilla DIY juice 4mg 50/50 PG/VG Organic cotton, standard wick Only had Subtank for 3 weeks Coming from BCC clearos Been vaping for 6 years Used to be mouth-to-lung, doing a lot of direct lung but still switching back sometimes What's your style with the Subtank? How are you running it? What's your wick-style? Dry hits? Wattage? Ω?

The Proper Way To Absorb Nicotine.

So I've heard a lot of people debating on this. Some say full mouth to lung, and hold it. Some say straight to lung and hold it.

Others say mouth to back of throat for the hit, then blow out slowly from the nose for the best absorption.

Is there any proven way to vape that gets the maximum nicotine? I always alternate but I'm curious to what everyone does/think.

Lung Hit Tips?????

To bring you up to speed on my vaping. I started in mid 09 and went 2+ years with out an analog np, Then kinda dropped it for bar hopping and I really dont know why. Kept vaping but only when smoking was prohibited.

I come back, and I have always been a mod whore. So pickin up where I left off. But now we got all the sub tanks and sub ohm mods, ect. I find myself in the odd position that my desire to be a mod whore, and my ability to vape these new powerful devices is leaving me,,,,,,,,unfulfilled. Worse yet I think TC or some form of that will be the future of vaping.

So today with my new MiniM and new Kanger subtank mini Ni coils. I begin to try lung hits. Doing pretty good for being at it less than an hour. I brings me back to a time in my misspent youth.

But I immediately noticed some differences in what works and what. More specifically I used to hit the button slightly before I would take a mouth hit. If I didnt it would cause me to cough. With lung hitting the opposite seems to be the only way, (Hit as I press).

I really want to get my brain around this. Is their any other "Lung Hit" tips anyone cares to share??

A problem I anticipate is I probably have $300 worth of 24mg juice laying about. So I suppose I will really be reliving my glory days.

Looking for lung hit tips?????

Tried Sub-ohming And Maybe It's Not For Me. Interested In Your Thoughts.

My main go-to setups these days are Nautilus tanks (both sizes) with 1.8ohm BVC's on mini boxes like Eleaf iStick and Heatvape Defender, but since I got the Defender and it can go down to 0.5ohm with it's 25 watts I decided to give it a go.

So I recently purchased a 22mm Peakomizer 2 Mega tank with Aspire Atlantis 0.5ohm coil and just recently tried it out around 25 watts with my favorite 70/30 vanilla flavor juice.

Now maybe this is partly to do with the tank I bought but even on the tightest airflow setting I feel like it's just too much. It seems to kind of force me to do deep straight-to-lung hits and I'm just not into the experience. I like mouth-to-lung hits focused on flavor more than anything else and I don't typically inhale too deep, for more of a smooth creamy vape. But this experience was more like harsher throaty big airy inhale and I didn't dig it.

After literally just 30 minutes of checking it out I went right back to my Nautty's with 1.8 ohm BVC's between 7.5 to 10 watts and that's a happy place for me, so I'm probably going to sell the barely touched Peakomizer 2 tank and brand new Atlantis .5 coils (looking forward to getting access to Classifieds section here soon).

But still I'm interested in other vaper's thoughts on this. I'm curious to know if sub-ohming is mainly geared toward heavy lung hits and the airy experience I had or if there are ways to do it / certain gear to use so that it's a similar experience to what I'm used to.

As always, I'm just really curious to read the opinions and experiences of others. It helps me learn something new every day!

Acrolain? Following Article Claims Nicotine-free E-cigarette Vapor Also Damages Lung Cells!

I just came across this article, claiming that even nicotine-free e-liquids contain lung-harming substances like acrolein:

Nicotine-Free E-Cigarette Vapor Also Damages Lung Cells Lung Cancer News Today

What I hate about articles such as these is that they're almost always posted with some scary headline and usually end up saying there isn't a proper research into topic or they're awaiting further investigations.

Anyhow, can anyone comment on what 'acrolein' is? I've heard of formaldehyde being created when vaping on high wattage, but this is the first time I hear of acrolein.
