What are some purchases that you guys made that you regret?
For me, it was the Nemesis Clone mod. That terrible piece of machinery went wrong in literally every single way it could've. Don't even get me started on the little pen that had to be stuck in the button in order for it to fire.....
Go!
OK - so my nemesis clone from FT has been looking kinda ganky lately. The patina had gotten to a splotchy brown stage. The performance has been suffering too. I had ordered a "hybrid style" connecter to delete the top ring with the posi contact. However, in order to get it to fire, I had to back my negative contact screw out a half turn. The button had gotten both finicky (as a result of the backing out of the negative pin - not recommended procedure) and crunchy (wear, dirt, loose fitting, and poor spring alignment). The whole mod felt cheap and I had to keep careful tab on that negative post.
I decided it was time to spend some effort on my old faithful.
I ordered from Fat Daddy their tobh upgrade kit, which comes with a longer positive post bottom screw for my atty, as well as the nemesis ultimate upgrade kit. They arrived this morning.
I stripped the mod down to individual pieces. All non thread, non plated surfaces got sanded with 800 grit wet or dry. Then, every piece of metal (including the rice pin, and careful extra attention to the threads) got cleaned with paper towel, then paper towel soaked in alcohol (common rubbing alcohol). Dropped the whole mess into a cup full of white vinegar and walked away for an hour.
Followed that up with Mr Clean magic eraser coated with Flitz metal polish. Lots and lots of rubbing, but even the threads shine like mirrored surfaces. Then I coated all the threads with flitz and did a lot of screwing and unscrewing of the various pieces.
Follow up the mirror polish with vinegar then alcohol baths. Seal all threads with just a barely there light coating of Noalox. Reassemble using the fat daddy magnets and extended negative contact pin.
Gave my Tobh clone the same treatment, reassembled with the new screws.
What difference! Not only does the mod fire properly with the negative post screwed in properly while using the "hybrid" top cap insert (making the whole rig look super sexy) but the whole unit feels and operates like a much higher end piece. The button feels great, like I've never felt. Super smooth, and the constant pressure resistance from the Fat Daddy magnets really makes the button feel classy and well made, nothing like the light duty springs it used to have.
This mod hits harder now than it ever did. I really used to balk and doubt on all those who would make comments about Vdrop in a mech, and how hard one hits over another. Well, I'm eating some crow now, 'cause I'm a believer. It's not super duper different in its performance, but it is certainly noticeable.
The magnets are almost too strong. I can put the mod down unlocked, and not only doesn't it fire, but the button doesn't budge, and the mod doesn't wobble any more than my stainless SMPL clone sitting next to it. Really makes the button feel heavy duty and sturdy. Quite the opposite of the chitzy cheap feel it had yesterday.
Overall, I am super glad I decided to put some real effort in to fixing all of the complaints I've been developing with this work horse mod. I've had it for eighteen months, and used it as my one and only for twelve of those, so it's been a good and loyal friend. Now it really looks and feels like it's gotten the love it deserved.
Oh - and a super plug for Fat Daddy - fit and finish for all the parts were impeccable. Materials high quality. Shipping fast. Price reasonable. All told, a real class act!
Hey guys.. i been vaping for a while and not had this hapen before.. i am using a Hugo Vapor Rader and ot has been working with no problems until today... when i go to use it, when i try to fire, it says high atomizer the first time i push fire button followed by low battery (have tried multiple sets) when i press again. If i persevere and keep attempting to fire it works fine as if there were no problem until the next time i go to use the device when the process repeats.. i have taken the tank apart and cleaned and put back but the issue continues.. anyone have any ideas on what is wrong/what i should do?
Well this sucks, I have an iStick 30w and toptank mini, I ran out of pre made coils so I thought i would try the RBA of the toptank. At first it read out as “protection” upon trying to fire it (I think the ohms were too low on the pre made coils included with the RBA at .1), then it said low battery (it was almost fully charged) so i plugged it in and tried to fire it once more and the thing started smoking (no protection message this time, just a little puff of smoke within the LED window). I only fired the button for a split second and it still seems to be functioning. Not sure what I should do lol or just ditch out on it? It appears to be working yet but stinks like an electrical fire now. I’m kinda reluctant to use it (I still have an old coil but it was starting to taste funky). Any advice or idea what might’ve happened?
Right now I have a few box mods, the IPv3, SIG 150w and the Snow wolf 200w. I'm using the Snow wolf 200w and honestly I'm not happy with it. I've had the button stick a few times causing it to auto fire and I'm noticing an almost one second delay from when I hit the fire button to when an actual vape starts to kick in (very slow fire up time, and I'm only running dual twisted 26g) on top of that I really dislike that I have to hit the fire button to see how much volts I'm using. I know the SX M class is one of the best out right now, but the fact it's a single battery concerns me because I typically vape between .12-.20 ohms and usually 60-80w (but since getting the derringer it's been 60). I really like the hot, dense flavorful vapes and I wanna make sure if I get the SX M class it'll be able to deliver that.
So I've been vaping now for almost 5 months. I own 4 different regulated mods, many sub ohm tanks and a few rda's. I'm wanting to pick up a mech mod, but not sure which would be better. I'm pretty much looking at either the nemesis clone or the stingray x clone. Any thoughts on which is better, or any other mechs that I may want to look into?
Hey guys, new to the forum, new to vaping, second thread. I have a few questions pertaining to mod clone companies, a-mod (wotofo?), infinite, tobeco. Im wanting to get a magma clone, I have a local vape shop and they sell them on sale as of this moment for $15, its made by tobeco though, are they a reputable company, do they make good things? From what I can see everyone seems to say really good things about infinite, but are these others good? They also have a Sir Lancelot copper mech mod for $30 made my a-mod, not tobeco. I wanted to go and pick these items up today, but with a little insight, any help would be appreciated, thanks!
EDIT: Yes I realize Im talking about two specific products here, that being the RDA and a mech mod, but Im really just curious about the quality and whether or not these other clone companies are reputable, so I made the decision to post this thread in 'Gerneral Vaping Discussion'.

I currently have a F U and a Stingray infinity
Good evening ladies and gents! It's been awhile since I've been to this site. First off, I've been cigarette free for two years, eight months.
I first started with a pair of Ego Twists. They are still working with a lot of use! I decided to go with something that uses a 18650 battery and chose a E-Vic. That turned out to be a piece of junk. After that, I purchased a Z-Max which while being a good device, but hit the button wrong, and it will change settings. I thought it straight-lined (it didn't). I guess i hit the button wrong (again).
I ordered a Sigelei 50w V2, and have been using it for three days. I really like that it didn't cost an arm and a leg, $60 from BeVapeHappy. Yes, I could have spent $150, or more, but I have bills and such to pay.
The Sigelei is very simple to operate, and using 1.8Ω cartomizer and a IBTanked at 10w, it's amazing!
So I dropped my mod yesterday right on it's ... and the button is stuck. Any suggestions on how to get it firing smoothly again?
Sooo.
I lost my sigelei 150 watt at the airport in taiwan before security.
Noticed it was missing after security (early morning flight, hadnt slept, was on the phone, doing too much at once i suppose)
Anyways, tried to figure out how to get it back by going back out through security.... But apparently, that was impossible, and no one spoke english, so I got super ...agitated... and before I blew up at the next person, I went in to the smoke room and bummed a smoke off some dude. (Cuz i was seriously agitated at this point). Dont get me wrong, i had had a few puffs post vape, but this is the first real full smoke I had. I am not posting this because ive worked myself up in to some guilt trip because I failed myself, I dont really care in that respect...I dont regret having one, because I might have ended up ... doing something bad at a foreign airport out of sheer annoyance and frustration.
Anyways, I remember, when I first started vaping, there was always ...something missing. Something...no there that was there with cigarettes.
Now, The cigarette, Burning my eyes and tasting terrible, and leaving a smell on my fingers that lasted for hours ...all that aside... There is now something missing with cigarettes.
If I had to name something... I would say that the wattage in the cigarette seems too low... or the ohms too high.... Or both, Kinda kidding, but its like that feeling... That coupled with the fact that the airflow is not enough and unfortunately, its not adjustable.... And... I kept trying to draw like i do with my vape, long and slow.... and no... i could only manage short pulls.
The point... Is I just find it weird that I definitely felt something was missing when I started vaping... Something wasnt there, but now, when I went back to smoking, Its like... everything is missing.
Needless to say, the remaining 12 hours of my journey home and to my house from the airport, I didnt crave a cigarette at all.
BUT MAN, when I got home... DID I EVER CHAIN VAPE!
On the upside, I already rebought the Sigelei, This time in Red, And stuck on Mechs till it gets here.
