I have an LE80 with a plume veil 1.5 clone on top. My coils are at .3 ohms. Im running them between 3.7-4v a few times at 4.2. I dunno if its just the juice im using, which is very dark and kinda old. But it just doesnt taste right, kinda burnt, but im not sure if its burnning the juice or the wick, well, im pretty sure its not the wick, cus you KNOW when it burns the wick. But, what do you think?
Uhh...so idk what it is,tasting burnt no matter what ,new coils ...two different rba pieces for subtank mini...guys at local vape shop didn't taste it but I notice a flavor of burnt n not juice...tht was hours ago, just tried again few mins ago and not burnt, but why would it be like tht? If a bit more cotton would it b better? But then I get juice...less cotton I get odd taste...I can't win lol idea on y it's like tht? Rba's r both fine.
So a juice im using is gunking up coils quick. I hate dry burning (it leaves a bad taste no matter how careful I am) and I've read you can re wick it with 1mm wick.
I heard ekowool is good, will that work? if so, what kind do I get hollow, cotton core or silica core?
And would I have to boil/clean the wick before I use it?
thx
Does old coils have any negative affects?
I typically burn off the gunk on the coils and put it through a good rinse then change my wick every few days. This was especially true when I'm using standard kanthal on the Protank.
I recently switched to a Solomon 3 using claptons. I find that there is very little gunk on the coils, I still burn off what I can before replacing the wick. I usually change the coil every week and one wick in between. On this one however, I'm 2 weeks on on the same coil and had only replace my wick once using the same liquids that I normally use on the Protank.
What I notice is the vape isn't as smooth as if I were to put in a fresh coil. I think I just answered my own question but what do you guys have to say about it?
So I'm using a juice that is pretty sticky. So sticky that when I squeeze the dropper to create suction I have to actually wait like 3 seconds before the air escapes the tube and longer for it to fill with juice.
So when I'm vaping this, the vape seems to be a bit on the weak side and I think its because of the wicking. could anyone advise me on how to wick my coils? (ex. more/less constricted inside, more/less in juice well)
The setup inside my RDA is dual 24g coils with an internal diameter of ~2mm with resistance ~0.2 ohms. Wicked very lightly constricted and just long enough to make a full contact with the juice well on both sides.
Im pretty much freaking out right now, I have been vaping the same juice for 7 years and I just received the 3 bottles that I ordered and I went through 8 coils thinking I had bad coils, well it wasn't the coils I went and smelled my juice and it smelled like a burnt coil with a mix of burnt plastic. I called and they said they didn't change manufactures so I'm assuming something went wrong in the lab. Anyhow I have 1 good bottle left and that's only 30ml, I vape USA #1 from Ecig pros and hopefully they fix it otherwise I'm going to have to wait until they get there next batch which will be a while, because they just got this batch. So I need to find a new juice to vape for now, I prefer max Vg and tobacco flavors but not with the Carmel or dark colors. I love a little nutty flavor, so please can you give me some names juice and where to get it. Also I don't do the salt nic. Thanks so much
okay so don't laugh but this is really an amazing vaping experience/setup for me! I have two batteries and a dual 18650 charger, so I never have to charge onboard nor do I find myself with no power since I always have at least one charging. I love the simplicity of the cloupor mini 30w. Between the magnetic battery door, simplistic screen/button setup, and the overall minuscule appearance of it, I think she's beautiful! The arctic tank however, I've had a could problems, but not too bad (Yes, I did allow my atomizer head to soak for a full 24 hours in juice.) Before I get into that tanks problems though, I'd like to also include that I've been getting into dripping aswell. I bought a plume veil clone a while ago for around 30$, and i was dumb enough to think that there was no need for a VV mod over $15... therefore I bought an X6 battery (cringe, I know..) and long story short I had a terrible experience. the wire that came with the rda was iffy, and it also came with silica wick; which I hate. I ended up building some kinda ****ed up maelstrom of a build. I used the cotton ends of ear cleaners, the questionable wire that came with the atty, and I ran it all at a mind melting 4.4v. Best part of it is that I had no way to check how many ohms I was pushin out. Anyways, I digress. First problem with the Arctic sub ohm tank was the "Check atomizer" deal on my cloupor. The problem was that the connector pin for the mini 30w isn't spring loaded, so I had to whip out the mini screw driver and adjust it. Once that was fixed, the atty was working perfectly!! Except, I was getting a little burnt taste. That's when I've learned that with this tank you have to start at a low wattage and work up to 30 when you're starting vaping for that session. The airflow is good, but I hate airflow; so it's even more splendid that the lowest airflow setting is barely any air at all. Really. It feels like sucking through a brick, and I like it. A ton of flavor, I vape eucalyptus mint flavored juice right now, and I'm loving it. I can't even express to you guys how much I'm loving this thing! Thanks for the advice in telling me to get it!
Hello everyone, I usually vape with my coils around 1.5 ohms in my clearos and my juice at a 50pg/50vg if I lower my ohms to 1.0 or 1.2 Should I change my ratio to a higher ratio of vg ? I was told that my preferred ratio would taste burnt if I did. Thanks
Two issues I wanted to fix. The first is the battery run time using the low ohm coils. Second is when the e-liquid gets to the top of the sub ohm coil housing in the Kangertech I've noticed a lot of dry hits when heavy vaping, ( I like a higher VG juice. ) I would find myself closing the air intakes and sucking hard to get the wick saturated, ( a real pain in the ***. )
NOTE: I like an airy hit and run the air intake ports full open.
So here's what I did.
I've drilled the wick holes out to 3.5mm in the Kangertech coil housing. Then built a 1.1 ohm coil with 4 strands of 32ga. kanthal, ( twisted together first ), 5 wraps around a 3.47mm screwdriver. The coil was very springy to work with but got a bit stiffer after torching t closed to 1/4" width using adjustable tweezers. I used regular ball cotton for the wick in this experiment. The coil came in at 1.1 ohm.
Primed the wick and filled tank with a little bit of juice, just below the top of the coil housing.
All I can say is WOW. The first 10 hits taste a bit crappy but after the break in, WOW.
Taste and vapor production are great. There's a bit of crackle but no pops. Crackle I don't mind, Pops I mind. The ClouporT8 counted 75 hits and now the e-juice level is just above the wicking ports by a hair and still working great with full open air intake ports.
I will add post after I've used this set up for awhile.
Curious what other think!

Imagine your self filling an RTA with fresh juice, only to have the worst vape you can endure as you cough up a lung. No its not a dry hit. Do you blame the juice or a clogged up coil? In this episode, I will take a short journey and explore to a better vape.
After a week of chain vaping, over 50ml of juice, a mix of 3mg and 6mg Nic, the rayon wick has finally given up and no longer produced a clean vape. After visual inspection, the coil and the wick has indeed had a significant build up from juice. To the point that I could no longer see wick material between a spaced coil.
After discarding old wicking material and cleaning the coil, i wicked an RTA with fresh Rayon and filled it with juice. My favorite tobacco juice has come a live, i can now take long and deep direct lung hits with enjoyment. My taste buds are intoxicated, as my lungs fill up with smooth and silky vapor with every inhale.
Keep an eye on your coil by visually inspecting it on daily basis. Trust your body and your taste buds when a juice no longer tastes as it should. Re-wicking your RTA/RDA on regular basis or every few days, will help you eliminate many concerns and issues that you might be having with juice flavor or vaping experience.
It only takes ten minutes to rewick, and in return you will continue to enjoy many hours and days of pleasurable vaping experience.
Good Night.
Sooo last weeks I was able to wick my atty in a way that for me it's perfect...no dry hits no leaks or flooding or anything and I enjoy Soo much...
After vaping some strawberry cookies and chocolate....(very dark juice coil abuser) it was rewicking time...
Put fresh cotton and start vaping and dammm bad taste....dry hit
Tried make it work...nothing...
Ok let's rewick...again same dry hit
Not anything crazy but just that light dry hit bad taste....
After rewicking 3times and using almost no cotton hahaha I was like ...... Cant dry hit now
