Vaper's Lip?

Was watching a movie, pretty into it, wanted a vape so I grabbed my mod and had a vape. Well,I had just rebuilt my dripper,a twisted 28 ni200 w/10 wraps (so a big ol coil lol) and had been checking it as I vaped for hot spots or anything else not awesome. Apparently I didn't put the top cap back on after the last inspection, so when I grabbed my mod and took a vape, I was vaping my upper lip! Sizzling sound and all! I've got a perfect coil-sized mark on my lip right now lol. It's always nice to be reminded that I'm no genius lol. It doesn't hurt and is in no way a "real" injury.
Anybody else ever do this? Anybody willing to admit it or anything like it?

The Rabbithole Of Temperature Control

Begins now.

I've had a TC mod for abit but never usedthe TC.

Then a guy at work got an Invader and I used it. Its nice.

So off to Temco for wire.

Not really gonna mess with it today but I wrapped a quickie. Its more of a spring then a coil but thats what they say.

I have almost all dual coil tanks and I'm not there yet so I grabbed a Taifun and installed the "spring".

Wow. This is pretty amazing. The flavor is unreal. I only vape one thing so its the same juice but I'm like one of them wine guys. I can taste traces of wood fired oak cask in the VG and I can pick out each of the five flavors in the citrus mix. The menthol, which is perfect is now maybe abit much.

If we assume my tenth coil will be perfect I gotta say this is a great way to kick off 1-9.

Vape Mail And The Resulting Aftermath...

Just got this SX 350 mini M. It's been working beautifully sans a few issues that I am sure are user induced.

First off I will tell you that the Lemo 2 that came in at the same time is Freaking awesome. I have a Kanger Sub Lemo drop and now the Lemo 2. The Lemo 2 kicks *** I the airflow department. It's robust and easy as hell to fill. I put a 3mm coil in it and pancaked the wick. 9 wraps and it's coming in at .118 ohms. Awesome flavor production and nice thick vapor.

So I moved on to the Tugboat to see how Ni200 fairs in the RDA world on this particular device. I went bananas with my coil and ended up with this monstrosity.

I twisted two strands of 28g Ni200 together with a drill and wrapped it 17 times. It comes in at .06 ohms. Performance wise it takes a while to ramp up but when it does it produces thick vapor but towards the hot side. Another thing is that the drip too gets hot really quickly. I'm running it 50J and have the temp cut off at 425F. The hot drip tip is one of the issues I mentioned. I vaped this thing bone dry and didn't get any burnt taste.

Then I moved on to the Lemo drop. The manual had an interesting coil method reccomended so I decided to go for it.

This one I wrapped about 10 times on a 3mm driver. Stuffed a small amount of additional cotton down inside like the manual suggested. The problem is that it gets stupid hot (the drop tip) stupid fast. I'm running it at 17J because this one is coming in at .365 ohms.

Short story long the device itself is working great. I just need to find the sweet spot with this Ni200 coil wise. Any tips in that department would be greatly appreciated.

At the end of it all the LEMO 2 and the Mini M seem like they were made for one another.

Do You Have A Special Place To Vape?

Hey everyone!
I was just wondering if you had any places that you like to vape at or that's just been really awesome!
I personally like vaping when I'm outside a lot more than when I'm inside.
I thought it would be cool to start this thread because I haven't found one yet and I bet you guys have vaped in some pretty cool spots!
Vape on and have a great day!

I Have Graduated.... In Two Ways!!

I am once again a happy vaper!!!! Ecstatic to be exact.

Graduation number one:

I have just very successfully rebuilt my first Nautilus BVC coil. Wasn't even as difficult as I thought it would be and didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would. I am now a forever rebuilder! I was a little worried because I didn't have any wire or filler material here, or so I thought. However, as I posted in the wick and coil section I literally tripped over an old hair blow dryer in my bedroom and did some research and discovered that the heating elements in them are nichrome wire.

I tore that sucker apart and uncoiled all the nichrome wire in it and discovered two things. One, there was actually three different gauges of nichrome in this particular hair dryer, all three kind of close in gauge. Second, different strand of gauge came out to about 20 feet or more each, so I ended up with over 60 feet of nichrome free. Below is a pic of the three strands, the strands go from the thickest gauge on the left to the thinnest on the right:

So I had my wire but needed filler. I was gonna use this medical gauze I have here but wasn't sure if it was pure cotton or not as there was nothing on the box that said what it is made of. But then my cute little neighbor knocked on my door and asked to borrow a screw driver. I obliged her and on a hunch, her being female and all, I asked if she used those round cotton pads to remove her makeup. She does and gave me a partial pack of about 50. Wooo Hooo, off the the races....

So I queued up Hawkeye's Aspire BVC Rebuild video on Youtube and got to work. I very carefully took apart the 1.8 ohm head that came with my Nautilus and saw what I believe was the problem with it. See the pic below:

OK, I'm a newb and all.... But that black wick doesn't look right, it looks like it's been burnt. I may be wrong and someone can correct me if so. I only used this once and only got maybe 2 vapes on it before I got the flashing dashes. Plus, while the coil is stretched out here, I did that after disassembling it. I carefully removed the wick from the coil and it was in the two pieces as shown in the epic. They were kind of touching each other inside the wick, but it seems like the wick burnt out and separated or maybe they had broke during manufacturing, or packing, or whatever... At any rate, it does indeed look like a defective coil.

So, I watch Hawkeye's video and build along with him and am very proud to say I believe I rebuilt this coil pretty damn well, you can tell me from the pic:

Is it just me, or is that one sexy looking rebuilt BVC? I used the thinnest gauge nichrome from the pic above and followed Hawkeye's method with the exception of giving my coil three extra wraps. I should have taken a pic of it.... Oh well.

So, with the coil rebuilt I grabbed a beer, put my Nautilus back together with the new rebuild, filled my tank and fired it up. BAZINGA!!!! She fired up at 2.1 ohms!!!! I was aiming for 1.6, but the three extra wraps probably added the extra from what I've read here on amount of ohms to coil wraps and wire gauge. I've now been happily vaping away for the past two and a half hours and the ohms are sticking between 2.0 and 1.9 with the odd jump to 1.7.

I gotta say here too, this is even better than the original Nautilus BVC. Now I understand why people rave about cotton and DIY rebuilds and such. I'm getting a lot more flavor, a much better throat and lung hit, and an awesome natural draw, and I'm not getting that sizzling/gurgling noise I was getting with the stock heads. Which leads me to my second graduation.....

I have broken the Tootle Puffer barrier and am now vaping at 28 watts. Hey, I don't mind Tootle Puffing, but I do like the bigger hit I get with the higher wattage. Been hitting this thing pretty hard though LOL. I never broke down and went back to the stinkys while my unit was down, and a big part of that was because I actually missed my vaping more than the stinkys.... I think a small part was also because I got so preoccupied with solving the issue with my hardware I didn't have time to think about stinkys.

Again, I want to thank everyone who helped out in my original thread about the problem. I love this place man!!!! I'm now a lifer both here and to vaping. Now I can't wait to get more equipment and also start doing DIY juices.

Words That Should Be In Our Vaping Vocabulary Aka The Urban Vaptionary

Hey folks. This is not going to be a "game changing" thread so don't expect too much, but I was toying with some words that I think should be included in "our" language.

If, at the end of this new year, there are enough new additions to our vaping language to warrant it, I will make a handsome leather-bound, display worthy, book and give each person who added a definition a free* copy.
*Some restrictions may apply.

I'll start:

Game Changer- (adj?) Any and every vape related product reviewed by YouTube personalities.
Vaperita - (n) A young, sexy lady vaper.
Vapeur- (n) A classy vaper.
Vooping (v) You figure this one out...;
Toiyl- (v) Working for an inordinate amount of time on a coil that turns out to be not that great
Darth Vaper- (n) Any vaper who takes multiple, heavy "toots" back-to-back-to-back-to-back. He/she will make the darth vader breathing noise as they vape. Darth Vaping (v).
Date Vaper- (n) Any vaping friends who wants to try your new juice and then end up over-vaping your juice and/or vaping you dry. Also: Date vape (v) "Dave came over because he knew my January VapeBox came in and he vaped 5 ml of everything. I think I just got date vaped". Not to be confused with Vape-raped.
Vape-raped- (v) Being sold shoddy, sub-par vape gear; usually done on purpose by questionable vendors (vape rapist)
Vapommelier- (n) A vaper who pretentiously describes and advises the best drink/food pairings for ejuice.

Have fun adding to the list!

EDIT: If you do add a word, please also use it in a sentence. A brief study recently conducted proves (eh... suggests?) that hilarity is increased by at least 34% when these words are used in a sentence.

This is a bold lie and I have no intention of making, or giving away any such book. My lawyer/GF advises me that I am under no legal obligation to follow through with my wild claims.

Upgraded My Tank But Still Tasting Liquid ??

Hey there guys, new here.

I have a Vappresso Revenger Mini kit and I have upgraded my tank from NRG SE Mini tank to a "Geekvape Z Sub Ohm tank(Much Larger Tank)". Because I wanted to taste more flavor and still blow lots of clouds in the air with my vaping device being fairly cheap.
I put a New Geekvape Z series coil 0.4ohm 50-60W because I burnt my original 0.2 Ohm coil , I wont talk about my previous coil. I'm getting 2 problems here.

1. I'm using 60W, normal setting and every time I vape or inhale I get a taste of E-Liquid in my mouth. However its blowing perfect clouds and still getting an amazing taste but its just that the liquid drops in my mouth. I just want to spit it out every time. How do I fix that problem?

2. The other thing is if I use Higher Wattage and High settings the liquid pours out of the air flow and starts leaking and backspits in my mouth.

(Before I vaped with new coil)I put the new coil in, I soaked it for 10-15mins, while I fill half tank of E-liquid which is 0.8Ng/0.2PG. Then I inhaled 3-4x with no button pressed. Then I vaped to test, still leaking. I set the vape to 70W and high setting then blow downwards into the device 5-6x. All I was trying to do is desaturate it. My results got better didnt notice much of a leak but I still get a little bit of liquid in my mouth. If you can help me out here, I would much appreciate it.

Thank you and kind regards

I Think I Did A Good Thing.

So, I was traveling for work today, and I had to stop at a gas station to grab a drink and use the restroom. As I was checking out, I overheard one of the other customers asking the clerk if he had any vapes. The clerk told the customer they only had the Vuze e-cigs. The customer was bummed out because he had forgotten his setup on the counter of a vape shop in Sacramento, which he was sure was gone by now, saying "Those things aren't cheap," and I told them I know all about it, lol. He was waiting for some food he ordered to be ready, so I went ahead and made my purchases and went outside to take a vape break. When he came out, he lit up a cigarette, having succumb to the urge and the not having a vape. We got to talking, and he told me that he was a veteran, having been discharged after his Humvee was blown up by an IED, leaving him with a TBI - Traumatic Brain Injury. He has a hard time remembering things, and that was part of the reason he left his vape behind. He told me he was using a mechanical (I deduced that after he told me it was a metal tube with a button on the bottom) with a cheap clearo that had a very tight draw. He didn't really know much about vaping, he just knew that it had help him go a month without smoking. I showed him my setup - a Smok Xpro M80 Plus with an Artic tank using the .2 ohm coil, filled with Vape Wild's King Cake at 65/35 VG/PG 3mg nic - and he was pretty impressed. I let him try it out, and he was just blown away by it. He really enjoyed how well it hit, how much he could taste it, and how much vapor it produced, saying he could really feel the nicotine, even at 3mg. He told me a guy at the vape shop he goes to gave him a box mod, and he showed it to me, a simple unregulated box mod - an 18650 Hammond box with a missing back, no MOSFET, no nothing. I told him he should get a couple batteries and find a back to go on his box, even told him I would be on the lookout for one. I also gave him one of my drippers, a TOBH Atty clone, and told him about coil building, and how drippers work. I also gave him a couple bottles of Vape Wild's Dragon Juice 3mg, 65/35. The last nice thing I did was to tell him about this place, telling him that everyone here is more than happy to help answer any questions he might have, and to give him some advice. Anyway, just wanted to tell you guys a little about my moment of Vape It Forward tonight. Hopefully he ends up showing up here someday. Support the troops, guys and girls, they need it.

Smok Vct A1 Diy Coil Kit Is Amazing

I purchased my smok vct a1 at a local vape shop and was told the coils cannot be rebuilt another vape shop had the do it yourself kits for this specific sub ohm tank, the factory coil is a single, but the diy is a dual that tests at .41 my itaste mvp3 loves the diy, the flavor is amazing and so is the cloud, to the smoketek fans out there i highly recomend trying the diy, after watching the build video on youtube

Once In A While, The Perfect Vape

So, like everyone else, I have my preferred juice (extremely complex DIY with all NET flavors) and my preferred all day driver (Subtank Nano and an Ego One 1100 mah battery). It's performed GREAT. I use prebuilt OCC coils and I rebuild those coils, too. Most of the time, they work just like they do with any other rig... they hiss (like all atomizers) and pop and crackle... part of the nature of sub ohm vaping (I use the 0.5 ohm heads, btw).

Once in a while, the stars align and the vaping gods smile down, and NO popping. I have to actually fire the device for a while to make sure it works. The telltale hiss is there, just no popping. It's happened with prebuilt coils and coils that I've rebuilt. Not sure what the deal is, but the vape is SOOOOO much better.... flavor seems improved too, but it might be mental.

Whatever the case, thank you, vaping gods, stars, fates, or whatever. That occasional perfect coil is nice.

Vaping Quesitons

Ok I'm hoping I don't get heat for these questions/statements but educating ones self especially with something that is still very new is important to me.

1. Read some articles on how there is second hand vape similar to cigarettes (99% better mind you) what are your thoughts? Vaping may not be as safe as smokers think, research suggests | Society | The Guardian

2. Formaldehyde found in builds running at high watts/voltage? But 0% at low/normal builds, what i can't seem to find is whats considered to high for a Mechanical Mod or even for a V/W, V/V Setup? My normal build for a mech mod is twisted single coil 24 gauge 6-7 wraps, usually gets about 0.28 ohms and single coil 8 wraps of 24 gauge puts out 0.73 ohms on my flavor builds.
